'''As regards my alt warning''', I'd now also like to point out this [http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/493725.html forum thread from TPG Australia]. My non-squid wiki IP [[UDWiki:Administration/Sysop_Archives/Boxy/2007-04-30_Misconduct|reported by The General]] was 202.7.190.132, and if you look at the TPG proxy list for Perth in the first post you'll see it's a ''proxy IP'' as I've been saying all along. It's actually physically impossible for either myself or O'Shea 2 to connect from that IP cos it's our ISP's transparent proxy, it's the internet gateway for our originating broadband dynamic IP's. If you'd like a demo I just changed my TPG proxy to the only other available Perth proxy 202.7.190.131 for this ISP in a city of over 1 million people then logged back into this wiki using it. | ||
Could you please unban O'Shea 2? Once unbanned I'll coordinate with him here via chat, just like we do in UD, and we'll both sign our names from the two different proxy IP's at the same time. If that's finally good enough for the moderators here then I'd also ask you to remove my user's alt warning. | Could you please unban O'Shea 2? Created this alt to zerg the Mayor of Malton elections. --Hubrid Nox Mod U! VOTE FOR KARLOTH 13:50, 29 April 2007 (BST)
- Warned -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 15:34, 29 April 2007 (BST)
- Please check the IP's before banning users, O'shea 2 is not my alt on this Wiki and is currently being banned from voting for Bullgod in the close race for Mayor of Malton. Voting closes tomorrow May 1st 2400 GMT and the Zombies need his completely valid vote. Cheers --Zeug 15:51, 30 April 2007 (BST)
- Can we resolve this ASAP? As I state on your user talk I know for a fact that zeug and O'Shea 2 both have different IP's, I can even provide you with them as he's a friend of mine on AIM and watching this unable to edit his sig and prove my point right this second. At the moment it looks like a Karloth Vois supporter is successfully banning a potential vote for Bullgod, with the vote currently split 64/65 to Bullgod/Suskind. --Zeug 17:10, 30 April 2007 (BST)
- The IP of O'shea 2 is the exact same IP that is used by Zeug. This has now been checked by 2 sysops and 1 Bureaucrat. This case has nothing to do with the preferences of a single individual as niether Boxy nor I as evaluators have voted in the election. Cyberbob avoided any conflict of interest as a supporter by only reporting it and leaving the action to others rather then do it himself.--Vista 17:54, 30 April 2007 (BST)

- I'm afraid then if we can't resolve this straight away I'll have to refer this to Administration Complaint Services as I know for a fact that the IP's are different cos he's a mate of mine, we're both within TPG Australia domain and currently ending in 133 for zeug and 234 for O'Shea 2. If the vote goes to the line you are going to have a disputed election. --Zeug 18:13, 30 April 2007 (BST)
- As far as I can determine both numbers you mention have made no edits on this wiki. Both differ from the single IP that is used by the O'shea 2 and Zeug accounts.
- You could go to A/M but I doubt it will help. The bureaucrat or sysop that will take up the case will IPcheck both accounts and find that they registered as coming from the same IP. The limited amount of edits on the O'shea 2 account will prevent any comparison on writing and editing style. Making the decision Boxy made (and I re-checked after you voiced your concern) the standard decision. Any other administrator will come to the same conclusion.--Vista 19:01, 30 April 2007 (BST)

As regards my alt warning, I'd now also like to point out this forum thread from TPG Australia. My non-squid wiki IP reported by The General was 202.7.190.132, and if you look at the TPG proxy list for Perth in the first post you'll see it's a proxy IP as I've been saying all along. It's actually physically impossible for either myself or O'Shea 2 to connect from that IP cos it's our ISP's transparent proxy, it's the internet gateway for our originating broadband dynamic IP's. If that's finally good enough for the moderators here then I'd also ask you to remove my user's alt warning.
And is anyone here interested in starting a policy discussion regarding the use of X-Forwarded-For headers on this wiki to protect all transparent proxy users from being banned without warning? --Zeug 18:07, 2 May 2007 (BST)

Please review your comments above. Homuncubish removed comments by Amiasheep from Amiasheep's page. That IS vandalism. --Zombiek 21:09, 24 April 2007 (BST)
- No, he removed his own comment likely after placing it in the wrong page by accident.
- 1Homuncubish placing a comment on the user page
- 2 Homuncubish remembering to sign his comment.
- 3 Homuncubish removing his comment from the user page a day later
- 4 Homuncubish placing his comment on the right page five minutes after that.
- That makes edit number 3 a correction of his mistakes in 1 and 2. edit number 4 shows what was his likely intend from the start. Seeing the history between all users involved I can understand a certain quickness in reporting. But it helps if you look into the case before blindly reasserting vandalism.--Vista 21:23, 24 April 2007 (BST)
Okay, sorry, my mistake. It was the copy and pasted comment with sheepy's signature, and the fact that it was his user page that was being edited by someone else, that made me think his comments were being tinkered with/removed --Zombiek 22:02, 24 April 2007 (BST)

For some reason removed the CMS from the Darvall Heights and Chudleyton pages and edited the Caiger Mall Survivors page. Also removed 5punk and the DHPD from the Peddlesden Village page. This user had also before removed removed the CMS from the Darvall Heights and Chudleyton pages here and here respectively. I reverted those edits as that group is still active in those areas, although with lower numbers than usual, seeing that Caiger Mall is still in zombie hands. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 22:55, 23 April 2007 (BST)
- I find it humorous that he's editing other people's membership counts, when his group's membership is like, the same four dudes with 20 characters each (I mean, come on - no one jumps 75 members in a 10 hour period).--Jorm 23:13, 23 April 2007 (BST)
- As shown by a post by their leader zeug on their board, second from the top, Extinction supports the acts of both zerging and multi-abuse. Whenever an NT or other important building is taken, they move freshly made zombies inside to hold the building. They consider it fair play, but I have and always will believe it to be cheating. --Banana reads Scoundrell for all of Yesterday's News, Today! 23:21, 23 April 2007 (BST)
- From the FAQ:
- Am I allowed to play multiple characters?
- You are, provided that they lead completely separate existences within the game - your characters should not collaborate, nor share (or stand outside) the same building. Multiple characters found to be working together in a suspicious fashion will be automatically flagged, penalised or even banned permanently by the system. If you're running a few characters, it's best to make sure that they stay in separate suburbs.

- (If you're sharing a computer or workplace with other players, it's recommended that you don't work together too closely, as this may be wrongly interpreted as a single player using several accounts.)
- Their strategy involves collaboration and multiple characters working together. That the do or do not stand inside or outside the same building is in this case inconsequental. A simular form of this was the desksergeant setup the DHPD had. Kevan ruled against that as multi abuse. So its quite clear that the strategy is cheating according to both the rules and Kevan. (thats logical ofcourse as he wrote them). I'm looking into the vandalism--Vista 08:49, 24 April 2007 (BST)

- "As shown by a post by their leader zeug on their board" - you lot are getting ridiculous. First up I'm not their leader, secondly, if you actually bother to read through the whole Philosophy thread you refer to here it's about zerging within a "total war" scenario, asking the question about whether two parties can come to an agreement on a formal declaration of total war (in the traditional legal sense) and name a geographical area and time limit within which the UD rules are suspended. It's a UD gameplay concept. Thirdly the Extinction rules of engagement allow for one alt only within the four quadrants of Malton. We can argue the case about whether having alts on the opposite ends of the City all working towards Salt the Land is zerging and I'd certainly be interested in Kevan's ruling on that. If having multiple zeds working towards the extinction of revival is zerging then I'd suggest having multiple survivors working for revival is also zerging, in which case I'd be quite happy to see multiple accounts banned from the server altogether. I find the quality of argumentation here on this wiki rather inflammatory and you sysops should really try and be a bit more objective otherwise you're just going to chase people away which is what usually happens. --Zeug 11:17, 1 May 2007 (BST)

- The above is precisely my point. As far as I'm aware we're all guests on this wiki owned by Kevan, no one else owns it irrespective of whether we have moderation privileges or not. I imagine we're all here because we enjoy UD gameplay which the wiki helps realize. I'm not going anywhere and true to traditional wiki rules I reserve the right to respond rationally to any ad hominem attacks against my character. If the sysops and others can respond in kind then I think we have a healthy space that will prosper and that is in all our interests, otherwise all that will happen is you will put other people off from attempting to work here. - Just wanted to point out that this looks more like an accidental edit conflict problem rather than vandalism. The suggestion being editted is Dan Fransiscos own suggestion (Detect Trail). He was replying to a kill vote at the time. Could you kindly recheck this offence - (sorry for the edit, I misread the line numbers - still think is was an edit conflict though). Cheers, –Ray Vern phz •T 14:05, 11 April 2007 (BST)
- The problem with that explanation is that there is an edit in between the two you are talking about. Click on the link I gave above, and if it was an edit conflict, the preceding post should have been from the guy that had his vote removed. It wasn't, the preceding post was by Dan too. At least that's how I see it working. Regardless, Dan's got to learn to edit sections, rather than the whole page -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 14:14, 11 April 2007 (BST)

For editing another users comments/posts on a talk page, here. It may be iffy I guess, but it felt like bad faith so I've reported it. –Ray Vern phz •T 21:41, 8 April 2007 (BST)
- To be fair to Amiasheep, I think he did it because you were informing homuncubish about our new page. As The Zog of Marrinium, we had a great deal of grief from Dragonhead, so we disbanded and started again - it would've been nice if we could've been left to do that in peace. Perhaps you find the endless trolling of homuncubish and co "funny", but we don't. --Zombiek 00:18, 9 April 2007 (BST)

- Changing content of other peoples comments so they wouldn't know of your group is hard to interpretate as anything but bad faith. Warned. And both groups need to grow up. Quickly. You guys are annoying the hell out of me. Want to aviod trolling? You ignore it. You don't go trolling yourself. Having troubles in game? you dont bring it to the wiki. This better be the last time I hear of troubles between your two groups. Because you're seriously getting old.--Vista 14:06, 9 April 2007 (BST)

Homuncubish
Does this here techically count as vandalism? Homuncubish is copying and pasting our comments on other pages and putting them on our talk page (check the history for evidence). It's not only irritating, it fails to add to the discussion in any way, shape or form. --Zombiek 22:35, 3 April 2007 (BST)
- It sure does look like impersonation to me, as the comments are being artificially directed at people/groups which were not intended by the original posters. --Hubrid Nox Sys WTF U! B! 04:09, 4 April 2007 (BST)
- It has a high drama fest feel this. Seems like Dragonhead with member Homuncubish vs the Zog with member Zombiek are slinging drama towards eachother. It could be impersonation but it looks like he's mucking up a quote what the other side said to his side so he can anwser it. The fact that Homuncubish keeps posting after they remove and make clear his contributions aren't wanted it is more in line with vandalism. But if you haven't made a ruling yet, you could turn them over to arbitration to have it sort out. Vandalism reports when two sides are arguing always feel like they're wanting to use us sysops as a referee. Annoys the hell out of me.--Vista 10:05, 4 April 2007 (BST)

Thanks for the advice guys. After some discussion over the last few day, The Zog have made the decison to disband. I could write a long piece here about just how unpleasant Dragonhead were towards us (including some extremely dubious misogynistic nastiness that doesn't sit well in a game that's open to all), but this isn't the place for such 'high drama' as you said above. So, we shall bid you adieu. So long, and thanks for all the fish. THE ZOG OF MARRINIUM --Zombiek 16:42, 4 April 2007 (BST)

Where do I start with this one? It began as a routine crit9 violation. I moved the page to his userspace, no worries. He proceeded to revert my edits to the original page (i.e. removing the {{speedydelete}} template and returning the page to its previous state). Repeatedly. He ignored my perfectly civil comment on his talk page... so I flayed him. Then he tried to get around this by making an alt in the page's name... which is when I brought it here. --Hubrid Nox Sys WTF U! B! 13:10, 1 April 2007 (BST)
