Dulston is a suburb of Malton, located in the northeast corner of the city.

Before the outbreak, Dulston was a relatively peaceful suburb with a booming textile industry and several NecroTech buildings where new employees were trained. The suburb's main attraction happened to be Treweeke Mall, which frequently lured shoppers from the surrounding suburbs. During the outbreak, Dulston was deserted and most of its inhabitants were to be evacuated by a military convoy. However, military sources outside of Malton report that the convoy never arrived. It was assumed to be lost, with the evacuees joining the ravenous undead or scattered throughout the city.

Dulston possesses a high concentration of resource buildings, including four NecroTech facilities, three hospitals and five police departments. This has contributed to its lasting strategic importance. Other locations of interest include St. Barbara's Church (98,2), Troubridge Cinema (99,0), the Pepperell Museum (91,4), Parrott Towers (94,4), and the ghost-haunted Caffin Library (95,9).

Dulston - More than just a tourist location!

Though once home to the venerable, but now disbanded Drunken Dead, since the outbreak Dulston has typically been one of Malton's safest and most consistently zombie-free suburbs. For this reason, its typically quiet suburban streets have attracted the attention of two Mall Tours (Mall Tour '06/'07), both incarnations of the Big Bash (Big Bash and The Second Big Bash) as well as invasion by the RRF. Dulston has also been a favourite target of death cultists and serial killers -- in particular the notorious DORIS, who refer to the suburb as New Baghdad. In response to these threats, several local groups banded together to form the Dulston Alliance, a highly proactive coalition who have promised to defend Dulston to the last man, and whose sphere of influence has come to include the entire NE corner.

Interestingly, the suburb is usually safer away from the NE border rather than near it, as a large block of empty streets runs up the centre, effectively dividing the west half (where can be found Treweeke Mall, the Whitlock Building, and the Bridgman Building) from the east (which features two of Dulston's three hospitals, the Trood and Beale NT buildings, and the suburb's only cemetery). Due to this distinctive topography, and seeing as the majority of survivors tend to congregate in and around Treweeke Mall in the southwest, responses times to zombie activity in the NE corner can be delayed.

Revive Points

Revive Points

Revive points have been set up at Duport Avenue (92,4), and Hamerton Road (98,1). Hamerton Road fluctuates as a revive point, due to zombies with Brain Rot taking over now and then plus the sporatic operational status of the Beale Building and the Trood Building. As such, Duport Avenue remains the most reliable place to be revived. Also undead survivors seeking revival should be aware that some survivors groups have taken it upon themselves to reduce the number of standing zombies at any given revive spot whenever there are 15 or more. This has become common practice in light of past sneak attacks orchestrated by zombie groups who choose to hide in plain sight at these locations pretending to seek revival while in actuality they are gathering their forces for assaults on survivor strongholds within Dulston.

It should also be mentioned that, while not a sanctioned revive point for Dulston's larger groups, the cemetery (99,2) located just south of the Trood Building is considered by some survivors to be a revive point due to the Sacred Ground Policy. Of course due to the jaded history of cemeteries within Malton, and the violent nature of the northeast corner of Dulston, getting a revive at the cemetery requires both good timing and a little luck.

Mobile Phone Mast

Dulston's Phone Mast is situated at Parrott Towers (94,4). The group FOXHOUND has claimed responsibility for the mast's daily maintenance and defense. The Electric Light Torchestra has also included the building in both routes covered by their enlightenment-tours

Suburb is looking a lot safer, but Treweeke Mall (in the south) is under attack, with 35 zombies outside. Breakdown of TRP's

  • 3 Hospitals - all barricaded and lit
  • 4 NecroTechs - 2 barricaded and lit, 1 barricaded, 1 breached (The Trood Building)
  • 5 Police Departments - 4 barricaded, lit, 1 barricaded
  • Nott Auto Repair - EHB, lit
  • 3 factories - 1 EHB, lit, 1 EHB, ruined. Forgot about one and missed it.
  • Treweeke Mall - barricaded, unlit. 35 zombies outside

Scatterings of ferals out on the streets, and it is pretty safe, especially in the north of the suburb. However, the mall and the breached NT keeps things moderate.

Treweeke Mall is being breached daily, but veteran survivors there continue to successfully resist the siege instead of running away like the last time. The Trood Building is taken back and now powered. Dulston is getting better day by day. Soon it will flourish again. -- Kittithaj 14:31, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

With the threat of Zombie attacks lessened, many of Dulston's veteran PKers have also returned to their playground. Murders are increasing, with the old feuds resuming in full force. GK'ing is also back, now that new targets are available. Mikeage 04:46, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

October 23rd

While the mall and its immediate vicinity is secured firmly in survivors'hands, the Whitlock Building is being breached by a group of about fifteen zombies. -- Kittithaj 17:47, 23 October 2008 (BST)

October 22nd

Treweeke Mall is secure, only NT facility currently ruined is the Bridgeman Building, most other TRPs and resource buildings are barricaded many are lit. Downgrading suburb status to yellow.--Garviel LokenMaltesecross2.jpgNo Pity! No Remorse! No Fear! Talk01:34, 23 October 2008 (BST)

October 20th

There are small-to-moderate groups of zombies out on the street, but there appear to be no organized groups. Estimate of about 40-60 zeds, scatted. Break-ins are still common, but are lessening in number. Appear to be a lot of Mrh? cows at the revive points. Breakdown of local TRP's

  • 4 NecroTechs- 3 ruined, 1 lit
  • 5 Police Departments- 4 ruined, 1 normal
  • 1 Auto Repair- normal
  • 3 Factories - 1 normal, 1 ruined, 1 lit
  • 3 hospitals - 1 ruined, 1 normal, 1 open
  • Treweeke Mall - three corners ruined, one corner normal

(Many "undescript" buildings are normal as well) Survivor activity, generally, is on the rise, while zombie activity seems to be waning. Although many TRP's are ruined, the suburb is starting to look a lot safer. Downgrading to dangerous, as very dangerous seems overkill. Linkthewindow Talk 06:27, 20 October 2008 (BST)

Update: The Whitlock Building has constantly went up and down in skirmishes during the last few days. Nearby, Club Cocker is finally back in business again after it was shut down by the zombie horde. Whoever made the great effort to repair this weeks-long-ruined building will be forever thankful. -- Kittithaj 18:59, 20 October 2008 (BST)

October 19th

Breakdown of TRP's:

  • 4 NecroTechs-3 ruined, 1 normal
  • 3 Hospitals - 2 ruined, 1 normal
  • 5 Police Departments- 3 ruined, 1 normal
  • 1 Auto Repair - ruined
  • 3 Factories - 1 normal

Couldn't get to the other TRP's. A lot of zombie activity on the streets, but I suspect a lot of them are Mrh cows. Overall, it's not Very Dangerous, probably closer to Dangerous. The ferals appear unorganized-I managed to stay a night in a 'caded building with only one break-in. Linkthewindow Talk 07:03, 19 October 2008 (BST)

October 15th

Humans have made a bold attempt to retake Treweeke Mall. 3 corners are de-ruined and barricaded though none have power. Zombies yet hold the ruined SE. Zombies will have to regroup and make a concerted effort to push the humans out or they will lose the mall.Iggles 11:49, 15 October 2008 (BST)

Update: All corners ruined once more. Iggles 00:34, 16 October 2008 (BST)

There is a large group of zombies encircling the Duport Avenue area. It's advised to avoid this place at all costs unless you wish to join them. --Colton Lindsay

Maybe because of the fact that it's a revive point? xD Also, SNAKEHOUND has decided to set up shop in Nott Auto Repair and make Dulston their home suburb. Welcome SNAKEHOUND!--Met Fan F
I said ENCIRCLING, meaning they are close to that area! >XD --Colton Lindsay

Whitlock NT is ruined, again. --Asheets 18:38, 7 October 2008 (BST)

Update: As is almost every resource building in Dulston (there are exceptions), although there appears to be very few zombies residing in most of them. --TehHeyhey 21:21, 7 October 2008 (BST)

25.96 MHz: "... leaving Dulston, counted around a hundred and fifty outside ... mostly just stragglers, no organised groups ... several buildings with power ... most of the buildings are ruined ... lights are on in the Bridgman Building ... Treweeke Mall has ..."

Unfortunately, the military don't know that, in fact, the Bridgman Building is EHB and ruined, made pinata by an unknown zombie paratrooper. There was another attempt today at Anne General Hospital when a zombie paratrooper dropped in and destroyed the generator, before it was combat revived. -- Kittithaj 17:33, 6 October 2008 (BST)

October 3rd

For survivors, it is pleasantly surprising to see the Whitlock building once again de-ransacked, de-zombied, and re-barricaded, though zombies may soon rally themselves for an attack, in disdain for this minor and likely-temporary survivor victory. Many of the other buildings in the suburb are held by survivors, though in the North and East many buildings are still under zombie control. --Yonnua Koponen 07:37, 3 October 2008 (BST) EDIT: NPOV fixed. --Yonnua Koponen 15:44, 3 October 2008 (BST)

Update: Whitlock reclaimed by none other than a BHU member with help from a zombified Ottari. --Mikhos 02:13, 4 October 2008 (BST)

October 2nd

At least 120 zombies on the streets. 20 appear to be Mrh? cows. 12 more were counted inside Treweeke Mall. Breakdown of the Tactical Resource Points:

  • Treweeke Mall: ruined.
  • 4 NecroTechs: ruined.
  • 5 Police depts: 2 ruined, 1 not powered (no 'cades), 2 powered (1 in the north, 1 adjacent to the mall).
  • 3 hospitals: 2 ruined, 1 powered (in the north).
  • 3 factories: 2 ruined, 1 powered (adjacent to the mall).
  • 1 auto repair: ruined.

There is a lot of general ruination throughout the suburb. Assuming more zombies inside ruined TRPs, and given the high state of damage throughout the suburb, it's still Very Dangerous. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 16:52, 2 October 2008 (BST)

Update: Many southern parts of Dulston are retaken now, and St Anacalectus' is holding out well. Yonnua Koponen 16:24, 2 October 2008 (BST)

Things to do while in Dulston

  • Shop 'Til You Drop! - Looking for that special something that might help keep you alive? Then why not drop by Treweeke Mall; where prices are so low we're practically giving everything away! So shop around or just hang out for a few days. Is there a limit to how long you can roam our halls and shops? Nope. Stay around long enough and become official "mall rats"! We really couldn't care less. Or more! But be sure to always remember, whatever you need you'll be sure to find it here, at the mall.
  • Stay Current With Current Events! - Visit the Naisbitt Building, official printing house of the Dulston Dispatch, Dulston's first and only newspaper! Inside you'll find amazing things such as, but not limited to: Stacks upon stacks of blank paper, drums full of ink, and an industrial size printing machine! Great fun for most of the family. Issues are printed out weekly and sell at the reasonable price of free!
  • A Funny/Religious/Cult Experience! - Pilgrimage to Troubridge Cinema in order to gain wisdom from the Night of the Living Dead (now playing) and then travel to St. Barbara's Church to seek enlightenment from the Survivor Saints. Recently refurbished by DvB and Ragnarok members, with the addition of RvB movies. Have some oreos and imitation 7-UP!
  • Games, Alcohol, & Good Times! - Survivors are invited by the survivor group, Dead vs Blue, to stop by Downe Towers so they can join in on some Halo/Halo 2/Halo 3, drink some beers, and debate about which pistol you prefer to use against the proverbial "Flood" (i.e. zombies).
  • Learn How to Drive! - Forgot how to drive? Think driving would be an amazing way for getting around zombie-infested Malton? Course you do! So come on down to Crazy Ed's Driving School and learn how to drive... possibly.
  • NOT Haunted, So Read a Book! - Come visit the very cheerful Caffin Library and be sure to stay the night. Rumors of survivors being found horribly mutilated are exaggerated, because seriously, what kind of survivor doesn't get horribly mutilated at least once while in Malton? You'll be fine. Relax.
  • Enjoy Grea- err, "Edible" Food! - McZeds' Dulston branch is located at the old Nott Auto Repair building, which is conveniently found at [98,3].
  • Eat the Homeless! - Dulston is famous Malton-wide for its street people! Whether they sleep outside by choice or by circumstance, there are almost always a few (dozen!) hobos squatting on Dulston's sidewalks, silently beseeching passersby for a spare heal or two. Sure, they're a bit smelly... but a brain's a brain... gnam gnam...

Barricade Policy

The D.D.D.S originally compiled the Dulston Optimal Defense Diagram back in 2005. This diagram is designed to serve as a specific barricade layout for the entire suburb during regular day-to-day operations. Of course in times of siege or intense suburb-wide zombie attacks, survivors are advised to retreat to Treweeke Mall and follow the Dulston Alliance Emergency Plan.
