Wyke Hills is a suburb of Malton, located in the south of the city. It contains the eastern half of Buckley Mall.

As Wyke Hills is situated on the edge of Malton, it is considerably less built up and congested as some of the suburbs closer to the center of the city. It is also one of the few areas that, previous to the zombie outbreak had no major route out of the city. Subsequently, it developed much more slowly than other suburbs and housed a considerably lower population of the residents of Malton. This is due in part to high land values and a lack of community buildings, such as schools; Wyke Hills has no schools of any kind, which actually led to the development of a well-accepted homeschooling program prior to the current situation. The suburb also lacks any movie theaters to speak of. There is only a single monument and park to serve as an attraction. Despite this, Wyke hills does have some limited amount of public service buildings, in the form of old, outdated police departments and dilapidated hospitals.

Instead, the suburb can be characterized as having a larger than average (for its number of buildings) level of private commercial development, such as the multitude of pubs and bars (of which several double as music venues) and clubs. This is a theme which continues into the Mall that is located here, which houses none of the larger multinational outlets or chic fashion stores present in other malls in Malton. Instead, Buckley mall is marked as a low key 'back-to-basics' kind of commercial center, where the locals shop for essential day to day supplies. This area also is marked by a light to mid level industrial presence considering its relative obscurity in Malton; in Wyke Hills there are four Necrotech buildings, as well as Auto Repair Shops and several affiliated factories.

February 2009

February 20th

NecroWatch reported in from the Craigie, Lodder, Needs, and Wicksted Buildings. Recent scans had revealed that there were currently a terrifying... 3... zombies within scanning range of all four facilities. Three? I mean, seriously... THREE?!? Let's count them. There was 1 zombie at a cemetery to the north, another zombie at a junkyard across the border in Buttonville, and lastly a zombie at Ambrose Bank over in West Grayside. Survivors in the area may as well rleax, kick back, drink a cold one, and wonder whatever happened to all those zombies they used to hear so much about. --Mobius 17:30, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
