This page is for the request of speedy page deletions within the Urban Dead wiki. Due to concerns about loss of data, the ability to delete pages is restricted to the system operators. As such, regular users will need to request a deletion from the sysops. For consistency and accountability, system operators also adhere to the guidelines listed here.

In a restricted set of circumstances, system operators may delete pages without full consultation of the wiki community. This is usually restricted to pages that do not seem to have any legitimate information or function within the wiki, or for pages that have been created by mistake and are requested to be deleted by the author. In these circumstances, a Speedy Deletion may take place, allowing system operators to quickly remove these pages from the wiki.

Guidelines for Speedy Deletion Requests

All Deletion Requests must contain the following information in order to be considered:

  • A link to the page in question. Preferably bolded for visibility.
  • A reason for deletion. This should be short and to the point.
  • A signed datestamp. This can be easily done by adding ~~~~ to the end of your request.

Further, you should place {{speedydelete}} at the top of the page you are nominating for speedy deletion.

Any deletion request that does not contain these three pieces of information will not be considered, and will be removed by a system operator.

Once the speedy deletion request has been entered, the request shall remain on this page, where it will be reviewed by a member of the moderation team, and action taken accordingly. Once action has been taken, the request will be moved into the Archive, and the system operator shall add a signed datestamp to the archived request.

A Speedy Deletion may be circumvented by a single vote of Keep under the request. If this occurs, the system operator shall move the Speedy Deletion request to the Deletion Request Queue, where the normal rules for Deletion of the page shall apply. Further, a user may choose to move a request from the Speedy Deletion queue to the Deletion Request Queue should they feel that the deletion may attract controversy within the wiki community, but do not wish to cast a Keep vote for the request. Should either of these circumstances occur, the deletion candidate should remain in the Deletion Request Queue until the alloted two weeks is up.

In the event of a sysop requesting Speedy Deletion, all the previous points will apply, excepting that a system operator other than the requester shall review and take action on the request.

Speedy Deletion Eligibility

To be eligible for a Speedy Deletion Request, the page must fall under at least one of the following criteria:

  1. No Content: The page contains no more than a line or two of content that cannot clearly be expanded, consists of random or incoherent content, or is duplicated elsewhere to no purpose.
  2. Off-Topic: The page is a clearly off-topic page.
  3. Unused Redirect: The page is an unused or underused (ie, only 1-2 pages using the link) redirect.
  4. Empty Category: The page is a Category page that has no entries within it.
  5. Missed Talk Page: The page is a Talk: Page from a previous deletion request that has not been deleted with the request (please note the relevant deletion request if this is so)
As of 19 May 2010, Crit 5 is now a scheduled deletion.
  6. Deletion Workaround: The page is a duplicate of a page that has been deleted from a previous deletion request (please note the relevant deletion request if this is so). A page that fits this criterion is immediately qualified for deletion without requiring it be nominated on the 'Speedy Deletions' page. Recreating a page that fits this criterion will get you a polite message to stop doing so. Any further infractions of this nature will qualify as vandalism and will be treated as such. Note that criterion 6 does not apply when the page has been restored through Undeletions.
  7. Author Edit Only: The page has been requested for speedy deletion by the original author, and has been edited only by its author. Note that edits by adbots or vandals and reverts caused by them do not count.
  8. User Page: The page is a User subpage that has been requested for speedy deletion by the original author.
  9. Personal Page (Prefix Rule): The page is named after a user without the "User:" or "Journal:" prefixes and its content has been moved to the appropriate User or Journal page. Includes pages that should be User subpages, ie. in-game characters.
As of 2011, August 29, Crit 9 is now a scheduled deletion.
  10. Unused Template: The page is a template that has existed for at least one week and is currently unused within the wiki.
  11. Non-existent User Page: The page is a User: page for a user that doesn't exist, and any content on the page has been moved to the appropriate User: or Journal: page.
As of 20 June 2009, Crit 11 is now a scheduled deletion.
  12. Defunct group page: The page is a non-historical group page, it is over two months old, it has not had an update in a month, and is not on the stats page. Such pages will remain in the queue for 5 days to determine their defunct status has been correctly identified. Due to the large number of pages that fit into this criterion, please {{speedydelete12}} on the pages to ensure that they are categorized differently from normal speedy deletion requests.
As of 2007, September 16, this is no longer a valid criterion.
  13. Missed sub-page: The page is a sub-page from a previous deletion request that has not been deleted with the request, and that serves no individual purpose (please note the relevant deletion request).

A page may also fall under a scheduled deletion and should be posted here if it is missed by the sysops.

Reasons for deletion:

Content about another group that is slanderous. It has posted claims against our group that are invalid. It has also made up fake information about our group. Also, said information against us was created on here before I even created this account, and appears to be connected to the previously banned Jack Yocum/fake account.

Also, with the references to our group removed it doesn't really seem to have much information about the user on the page. I believe that is also another reason for speedy deletion?

Seems the only viable part of this profile is this part: "I don't care about that, either. But feel free to do it. I'll just keep on humming. Keep on slumming, just strumming the guitar, I keep the music coming.

And I don't care about that, either."

I have placed the necessary speedy deletion requests on the respective page.

User:WalterKrenshaw

Please have this user remove the information about us from his page.

I request all of the misinformation about our group struck from the page, if the profile itself cannot be not deleted.

I have placed the necessary speedy deletion requests on the respective page.

Unused Images

I'm getting an error message, when trying to delete the images in the Orphans category (currently, they're all larger duplicates of images from the fortress pages.

  • Error deleting file: Award - DWVIP M.jpg
  • Error deleting file: Could not create directory "mwstore://local-backend/local-deleted/m/p/8".

Is this happening for anyone else? They show up in the deletions log, however the images are still there -- boxy 07:19, 10 November 2014 (BST)

It sounds like one of the bugs that was reported after the wiki upgrade. Kevan's aware of it. Aichon 07:34, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Crit 1 duplicate of User:DangerReport/The_Sonven_Museum to no purpose. The one with the capital T was already in use all over the wiki and follows the capitalization convention that the rest of the museum pages follow. I changed the only page using the lowercase T page to use the uppercase one already. Kudos to Wyronth for discovering this issue that has been lingering for several years. Jack Yocum and Zergs Unlimited

Given that this is a wiki for Urban Dead, and Urban Dead is explicitly defined as not including alt abuse, we can safely say that any pages encouraging such behavior are Crit 2. Or Crit 1. Or Crit 9. Take your pick. Aichon 05:46, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

No, I don't think it fits any of those criteria. You can send it to Deletions though, and I'd be likely to vote against them -- boxy 09:51, 16 February 2015 (BST)
What boxy says. There is no SD criterion fitting to the page. Take it to A/D, it will have a very good chance of going down that way. -- Spiderzed 15:14, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
It's a page about behavior that is explicitly excluded from the game. If that's not Crit 2, then I don't know what is, but whatever. To A/D. Aichon 16:57, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Wait, you want your talk page done too? Aren't you worried that you won't be able to talk anymore? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 04:58, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
Deleted the talk page too, since we can always restore it later if necessary, and people can still re-create it (as we're regularly reminded on a certain someone's page...). Aichon 05:25, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
That would a concern, AHLG, if I were using the Penguinpyro account at all anymore, or if anyone had edited that talk page within the last 4 years. I still have my RW account for bugging me. ----RWSig1.png RWSig2.pngFoD PK Praise Rando!17:47, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Personal Information

Talk Page

Crit 8. I'm not sure what Crit the talk page fall under. I'm deleting pages to stay ahead of a doxing. Thankfully they're not too bright. I'd also like to delete any missed pages. - Goribus 09:32, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Since we're dealing with doxxing, I'm going to play it safe and assume by "missed pages" you mean ALL of your subpages for your userspace. I.e. All of these pages:
I left User:Goribus/Sig alone since it's linked from a load of places and has no personal info. If you'd like to have any of them restored or would like to grab a piece of info from one or all of them, feel free to ask here, file an undeletion request, or contact a sysop via the E-mail links on our user pages or via IRC. Aichon 16:29, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

see he baleeted it‼ ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 07:30, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Yeah I'm very popular. I'd like it deleted so people have to work to find shit on me. Goribus
Do you mind if we leave it as a plain link to your (non-existent) user page, so that people can tell who made the posts? -- boxy 08:07, 22 June 2015 (BST)
Alternative reading: your signature isn't going to go away, since it's a requirement that your posts be signed. But if there has ever been personal information saved on your signature's page, we can delete it and then re-create it as a default sig, basically. Aichon 15:10, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Assuming that the doxxers are the same as some months ago, I preferred to handle that as safely as possible without disrupting the entire wiki with bad transclusions. I have deleted the sig but for the latest bare-bones revision by Boxy. (Other ops, if you need to know from what angle that attack may come, e-mail me privately. Suffice to say that the doxxers are probably mediawiki-savvy enough to thumb through revisions for even minor hints, and that a success on their end could have devastating effects. I am an op who plays by the wiki rules as much as possibly, but I draw the line at user's personal safety. And that is for the sake of an user who has been fiercely antagonising me in the past, which probably says a lot about how worrying I consider the threat to be.) -- Spiderzed 19:41, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I'm suddenly regretting everything I've ever said or done online. Goribus

Personal information

User has been subject to documents leak, or "doxxing", and denial of service (DoS) and thus is not online to verify at this moment, but page contains personal information and is thus subject to scheduled deletion per policy. I realise deletion is apparently not working at the moment, so please, do not revert and do not refer to user by either username or real name. Thank you. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 08:50, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

And yes, before anyone asks, I am fully willing to eat vandal penalties if necessary. ᚱᛁᚹᛖᚾ 08:52, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Co-signing this. - Goribus 09:32, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
Deleted. I left a subpage and the talk page alone since they seemed to contain no relevant info. If it later turns out that you guys are unreliable proxies for this request, I'll eat the appropriate Misconduct charges without dispute. Aichon 16:22, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Having looked into that matter, and knowing where the doxx attempt is coming from, you have my full backing as a sys-op. No misconduct charges from me, and I will fight to my dying breath anyone bringing them up. -- Spiderzed 00:13, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
