A Question

what is up with the edit link? It seems to be centered in the space above...

It's due to the floting TOC. If the TOC is small, there are no problems. If the TOC is huge there are no problems. It has to do with this intermediate length that makes it look screwy. –Xoid S•T•FU! 08:15, 30 June 2006 (BST)

I was always getting a warning on the top of the page when trying to create a new suggestion, saying that the page is larger than 32kb (close to it..), and telling me to create a new section - so I did! I have two characters on Urban Dead. Your policy is confusing, and deletion of the original User:ErynSMA when I did it under my wiki account for LillianAsh lead me to believe that I needed to create a new Wiki account with the same username as my ErynSMA, and use that from hereon in to edit the ErynSMA, while maintaining the LillianAsh username for my character. Please clarify further. It seems innapropriate for someone to search my username on the wiki under ErynSMA and to have it come up dead because policies were unclear.--ErynSMA 05:29, 26 June 2006 (BST)

Use the search ability provided to you from the wiki. Press the search button without entering anything in the field. When the results screen pops up, check only the "User" and "User talk" checkboxes. Search for ErynSMA. They will then get this results page. The reason that I really don't like mutliple accounts is due to:
  1. The potential for voting abuses.
  2. The possibility that someone will pretend to be two different people.
  3. Confusion for anyone not knowing both accounts.
  4. The fact that Special:Contributions/ErynSMA and' Special:Contributions/LillianAsh don't cross-list your edits.
As you can see, it makes it hard on the moderation team to stem abuse and is generally just confusing. The only exception to this "rule" is where a user makes a seperate account purely to work as an automated editor. (Automatically moving pages that need to be moved, or converting HTML to XHTML, or other boring and tedious tasks not requiring true intelligence.) This is done so that the bot can be banned if it goes haywire, and so that the human who made it can still edit the wiki if they wish to, or need to. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:22, 26 June 2006 (BST)
