20080515 Scan and Revive tweak- 0 AP for invalid targets
Swiers 02:24, 15 May 2008 (BST)
Suggestion type
improvement
Suggestion scope
DNA Extractors, Syringes
Suggestion description
What it says. Currently, if you use a DNA Extractor or Syringe on a character who is not currently a zombie, it costs you 1 AP.
It is entirely possible to be trying to revive or scan some zombie (usually either a contact or previously scanned zombie), only to have them not be valid any longer because somebody revived or killed them; this has happened to me. Why should that cost you an AP? If you try to attack somebody and they are already dead or have moved to a new location, that does not cost an AP; why does trying to revive or scan somebody who is no longer a zombie cost one?

- Keep - Yes. This makes sense. If you get to follow through with the action, you shouldnt incur the AP cost. You're already using the IP cost. --Tselita 03:37, 15 May 2008 (BST)

Kill Votes
- Kill - It's like shooting a bullet and missing. You attempt to do something, but you fail miserably. --Vandurn 14:06, 15 May 2008 (BST)
- Kill - Wrong solution. Racing for kills is part of the game. I think only obvious mistakes (e.g. scanning/reviving yourself, clicking on the GPS unit) should be free. And maybe unsuitable targets shouldn't appear in the drop-down list. Are you sure attacking a moving target is free? I hadn't noticed that but if so I think it was a bad idea. --Explodey 21:24, 15 May 2008 (BST)
- Yes, I'm 100% certain that attacks on non-valid / non-existing targets are free. It is very common as a zombie player to attack a survivor who has "moved away" (or died- the message is the same) or to attack barricades somebody else has torn down, so those make sense to be free. I'm basically proposing the same thing for scanning and revives. IMO, "racing" should not be a part of the game that costs you AP (it already costs you the opportunity for XP etc., which is fine) because logically you would never attempt an action if there wasn't a valid target. Its only the game interface that makes it SEEM there are valid targets in those cases. Swiers 22:46, 15 May 2008 (BST)
- Change - Should apply to DNA Scanning, but not needles / reviving. --WanYao 12:57, 16 May 2008 (BST)
- Change - As with WanYao. -- THELORDGUNSLINGER 17:33, 16 May 2008 (BST)
