You seem an active person on this wikia, maybe you can understand my plan best. I hope this doesn't seem too random. | |||
You know, I want to change Malton's government system from Anarchy to something better. A cooperation and rule system of multiple groups working together, at least for a start. You know, get the leaders of different top ranking groups and such, and different types(Revivers, Rebuilders, Zed-Mowers) to talk together and plan things together. Not just the odd two clan meshing thing, but groups staying their own, but working together..is that far fetched? [[User:Defender Of Weak|Defender Of Weak]] 00:07, 30 September 2011 (BST) |

- Don't know. It's not against policy I don't think. I didn't go digging through old VB cases before I changed it. I can't imagine ruling vandalism on something like it, though. What grounds? ~ ~ 06:57, 16 April 2011

- Iscariot had a similar one (may still have it as his sig). I found them troublesome, because the only way you can check who made the comment, is to check the history, or click on the link. We should be able to tell, just by mouseovering the link, who made a comment. Some wiki gurus have found a way around it, I think, so that mouseovering the image shows a link to the userpage. I don't think anyone bothered to send Iscariot, or anyone else, to A/VB for it though -- boxy talk • teh rulz 12:50 16 April 2011 (BST)
- Basically, the arguement is that a link to your user page is required in your sig. A redirect from an image page doesn't exactly fit the criterian. It's not a problem when it's obvious who's sig it is (ie. if the image spells out the name, or a close approximation), but it has the potential to be used to be intentionally misleading -- boxy talk • teh rulz 12:53 16 April 2011 (BST)

- Nope, not a typo. Spambit is a colloquialism that began 2 years ago when Cheese accidentally pressed the "i" key instead of the "o" on his keyboard and it has stuck ever since. We even have an article dedicated to it: Spambit Hunters. I think including it on the Ipbreason-dropdown gives our wiki some personalization and makes the very mundane task of banning spambits a little bit more fun. I'd contest your decision to lock the edits to the page with the status shown as dangerous. Members of The Dead (frequently with little previous history of updates) have been regularly and repeatedly modifying the suburb danger levels there and elsewhere without any explanation or basis for doing so. If the status is to be locked (and I think it should be), it should have been locked in the status it was in prior to the vandal updates by The Dead.
Otherwise I'd like to hear your recommendation and it shouldn't be simply "work it out in talk" as this is a matter of vandalism for propaganda purposes by The Dead. --Lord K 03:20, 27 April 2011 (BST) -Perform your job as wiki staff and review things instead of superfluously locking things.--Lord K 03:26, 27 April 2011 (BST)
- Actually his job in all of this would be to lock it prior to the desputed edit and send your asses off to arbitration. So, basically, make an A/A case and it'll get done and then settled. Be sure to actually have proof of why your version is correct, dumbwits of the suburb would work. Otherwise your both wasting everyones time. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 04:27, 27 April 2011 (BST)

--甘いノーム愛感覚的の私の型板!!! 03:29, 27 April 2011 (BST)
- Without any basis for doing so? What basis do you have? We tend to just edit the danger levels once we've wrecked a suburb, occasionally correcting mistakes on other suburbs if we see them. We honestly don't really care enough about the danger levels that much considering their nature (updated manually / irregularly). Also, it seems like locking a danger level page is a terrible idea considering how quickly suburbs have been falling recently. By the by, we know everybody hates us, so we don't really have any need for "propaganda" beyond putting animated gifs on our group page. Template:Wikipedia
I don't know what's going through your head but in the case of Template:Wikipedia a soft redirect would require more than simply claiming the template is depricated(which, btw, not what depricated means). In this case a standard redirect is actually functionally better. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 07:03, 6 June 2011 (BST)
- Basically it's just moronic to delete either of those redirects until the template isn't in use anywhere on the wiki. As such I reverted them back to actual redirects for the sake of common sense.--Karekmaps 2.0?! 07:10, 6 June 2011 (BST)

If they decide they want to go that route, the images can be undeleted via A/U. Only other discussion I took part in regarding the word spambit was the one on my talk page above. Truthfuly, this hasn't been discussed much. Maybe its because nobody seemed to have much of a problem with it before you. If you have such a problem with the word spambit, why not put it to a vote and see what majority have to say about it? At the least, don't tell others you're going to take them to a/vb and over something you're so alone on. ~ 02:04, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

I know you've been called out on this before and I'm not alone in my frustration. Just lighten up a bit, Karek. Vapor, I don't put ANY weight in edit summaries, especially as warnings. And to both of you, it's irrelevant, you don't alter admin pages contents for intenal jokes and that's basic sense so stop acting like I'm being unreasonable for proposing the next logical step in an edit summary when a user has had it made clear to them in the past by multiple sysops that something isn't ok. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 03:58, 14 August 2011 (BST)

- I don't think VB is the place to deal with this. Harrison has as much "ownership" of that page as any of the sysops, given that he's a frequent spimbot reporter, and the page's main reason for being is to provide a place for regular users to report bots. He uses the page more than most sysops, actually. I think that the header should be spelled "bot" rather than "bit" (using the fun spelling on the official page just takes the point out of it, IMO), but I figure the best way to deal with it is just to change it back whenever I'm on the page. Without this drama, they'll get sick of it ;) It's arbitration material, if anything -- boxy 06:46, 14 August 2011 (BST)

- Yeah, especially since that's not an arbitable case. You don't arbitrate admin page content when it's an issue of clarification or humor simply because it's a bad idea. In this case there's clearly what it should be and what it's being changed to. To arbitrate something like that would be akin to arbitratin the A/VB noivces or recruitment guidelines(or suggestions rules because someone like 2cool might want the example links to their content). It's not procedurally sound and while this is relatively minor it's the kind of thing that would get misinterperted as precedent and intentionally abused. My response was keeping in kin with past warnings for that kind of edit to admin pages(take reporting yourself as a joke for example). If the consensus is rather we just waste time undoing it ad infinium I'm fine with that too so long as it's clear that he joke header is not the appropriate page content. --Karekmaps 2.0?! 08:23, 14 August 2011 (BST)

Although I CBF making a big deal about it if people genuinely think it's worth fighting for, but I agree with Karek 100% on this regarding spambit's legitimacy on an admin page and that arbitration cannot be the place to take this. -- ϑanceϑanceℜevolution 10:13, 14 August 2011 (BST)
Since you explicitely ask for op opinions: I don't care either way. This isn't comparable to suggestion guidelines or the A/VB intro, it is just a descriptive title, and one where both variants are just one letter apart to boot. To resolve this and to ensure that the community prefers either spelling, I recommend a brief poll on Talk:A/VB/B. That would finally give us something substantial to put that dispute to rest. And I agree that arbies would be a.) overblown and b.) not the best place to resolve questions about a high-traffic admin page. -- Spiderzed█ 12:04, 14 August 2011 (BST)

The suggestion is for a change in where eyeglasses (the same ones Zombies can start out with) can be changed when revived.
"I've run around and changed all my nasty, bloodstained clothing, all but these dirty glasses."
Right now they can only be changed in Malls. My suggestion is that they be included in Towers and Hotels/Motels as these are also places folks may have left them behind.
I think it's a great idea.
LMK, what you think.

- Hm that's a bit of a tough one. I'll admit I'm not the best source for suggestion system questions but I'll try to help. You don't see too many clothing related suggestions and the ones you do see are usually found at Clothes/Suggestions. That page is more for the suggestion of new clothing though, not changes. I'd go ahead and put your idea up on Developing Suggestions to get feedback and help with it. The type would be "flavor", the scope is survivors and the description can be simple. Just something like "Make eyeglasses an article of clothing available inside towers and hotel/motel". ~ 07:53, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

- Sometimes the stars, the moon and the earth align and you stumble across something truly epic. Glad you found us. Since yesterday was Mexican Independence day, tequilla is in order as well. Do you think you'll join us for the pub crawl? ~ 16:29, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've passed the invite to OBR's current leader, Colette Hart. I expect OBR will have an answer in the next few hours or so. Maybe. Hopefully. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 17:05, 17 September 2011 (BST)

- Right on! We'll be at Mester Arms for another couple of days and then it's on to the Limbrey Arms in Havercroft. See October Bash 2/Oktoberfest for all the details. ~ 22:01, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
- OBR's "Holy Empress" needs a heal in the school next door to Mester. Yuki would get the FAKs to her, but she's currently dirt-napping in the Cemetery for AP, so Yuki won't be able to get to her for about 5-6 hours. BTW, does CORAM happen to have a forum of sorts? It would be easier for OBR to coordinate with you guys if you had a forum. Or you can coordinate with us on our forums. Doesn't matter much, really. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:09, 18 September 2011 (BST)
- I signed up at the OBR forum today. Just waiting to be activated. CORAM doesn't have a forum. We're that cool. ~ 04:58, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Still waiting for access. Right now I am wishing I had set up a centralized area for updates. Once I hear back from noctrnl, we'll move forward with the pub crawl but we'll likely skip over Havercroft. ~ 18:37, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yea...Ever since Mav retired, account activations have been taking just about a week longer... :/ --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 19:26, 18 September 2011 (BST)

Your account was activated just a few hours ago by Colette, by the way. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 05:03, 19 September 2011 (BST)
The email
404 are best contacted through the OBR forum. I have no idea about timetable. Last week we were claiming a fort in Whittenside and an hour ago we reclaimed Dury. Basically no idea. --"Workshed" 19:18, 21 September 2011 (BST)
- No problem, I eventually figured it out. Thanks for getting back with me. ~ 19:58, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I remember not...
My wiki coding skills have long since gone out the window, and will seemingly continue to elude me. Tell me, if you know, is there a way to use an image as part of a backgroud on a wiki page, and keep that picture stationary as a user scrolls up and down the page? -Poodle of DoomT*C 00:23, 23 September 2011 (BST)
- There is. You might look through User:Mazu/sandbox for the code. I don't remember it off the top of my head. ~ 01:06, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- There's something there I can use. Thanks a lot. I greatly appreciate it. -Poodle of DoomT*C 01:15, 23 September 2011 (BST)
Group page locked and listed as inactive
Excuse me, I recently joined a group in the Lockettside suburb called the Lockettside Valkyries. The problem is that the group page on here is locked for some reason and also erroniously listed as inactive. Can you please help with this situation? Regards, Sage of Winds 00:57, 23 September 2011 (BST)
- Given the history of vandalism to the page, it hs been protected indefinitely. If you wish to have it edited by a sysop or want to make a case for it to be unprotected, please use A/PT to make a request. ~ 01:04, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
- Wow I didn't know that, there's a history of vandalism? From who? If you don't mind me asking...Sage of Winds 01:06, 23 September 2011 (BST)
Government Order.
Defender Of Weak 00:07, 30 September 2011 (BST)
