So it was you that highlighted that section in bold? I was wondering who it was, thanks a lot mate. Seems that a lot of the time people make dumb justifications because they haven't read the text. Just plain normal escalations. VD is for keping track of the warning levels of actual users, not the troll of the day. If someone makes alts to get around bans, those get logged under the user (Check the VD for Izumi as an example).

A little more complicated, I agree. Going back on my bid? No. I do recall saying: Places where I may be biased because I know someone, or isn't listed in any policy or guidelines. Some impersonation issues in regards to suburb comments, anything to do with arbitration being kicked over to A/VB. More of a rule than examples. I do recall reverting sysop reverts as a bad thing and he was clearly spamming, so I had some backup for my thoughts. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 03:53, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

On danger reports, sysops edits hold no more sway than regular user edits (we are not mods), unless it's the reversion of vandalism (which anyone can do anyway). In edit conflicts like that one, you've got to be sure he's doing it in bad faith, otherwise it's advisable to send it to A/A. Given his total lack of any response to peoples comments on his talk page (other than deleting), it not all that unreasonable a warning, especially considering his edit of the 5th of November template into someones grouppage (which was the straightforward part of the case). BTW, I think it's 250 edits before warnings are struck -- boxy ^{talk • i} 04:23 13 January 2008 (BST)

Glad to hear it. Be sure to keep track of any other medals you might earn. Some are easy (i.e. Labtrobe Honorary = 1 scan from the Labtrobe Building), while others like the All-Seeing Eye sometimes require people to figure out if the actually managed to meet the "1 month" requirement. Of course this is meant to encourage NecroTechnicians to aim for suburbs that meet the minimum NT facility requirements and have no scans reported, rather than risk trying for it at a suburb that gets random scans posted. As while the Recon list I mentioned above only relates to known members (and no Joe Average survivor who posts scans), it does impact ribbons. You're pointing to my A.L.I.C.E.'s promotion of Iscariot to Recon Scout. If you want to be moved to the head of the class you'll just have to post 25 scans like he did. The member's list is sorted by rank, and then user names alphabetically. Eventually all the Rank 5 members will be on the top, sorted alphabetically, and each lower rank will be sorted alphabetically within its "rank band". So technically you could end up on the top when everyone has Rank 5 since your name starts with "A". Redirects

Alright now I'm confused. So far as I understand the Location Style Guide, this is how we are organize info for seldom used locations. Streets are certainly locations that don't get much in the way of events and news. Even so, a merge page allows for a few items before the entry gets too big to be broken out of the merge page. Doing things this way dramatically reduces all of the very many stubs all over the wiki. A portal page would only add another layer of mess, not reduce it. The Location Style Guide also addresses redirects specifically when there is a category page, such as a streets merge page. It states that the individual pages should indeed be redirects when a merge page exists. I know that it says that this style guide also says these are merely suggestions, not prescriptions, on how things should be done. Another way of looking at that could be that I can't do things completely wrong so long as I do them near what the guidelines say. However, I am very new to this wiki community and so I thought I should do things to the letter until I learn what is and is not an acceptable deviation. Yet now I've got half a dozen people upset at me for duplicating the same format I already see in half of the wiki. Impersonation

Yeah it falls under the talk pages are the property of their owner" rule. It's a bad idea and a great way to lose a good faith assumption in any later A/VB cases but there are 4/5 cases like this that have been ruled on in the past that have more or less established the precedent so as long as the edits aren't then used as A/VB cases then they are allowed. That said I doubt my ruling will go unchallenged because while the ruling does stick with what the current rule is, that doesn't mean the current rule is a good one.- Vantar 07:02, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I was thinking about it, and I was seriously considering a run... considering how I have helped with image categorization, with location-blocking, and how I've turned around from troublemaker to an okay wikizen, and how I've tried to break up any disputes I see starting, and how I've (occasionally) helped newbies.
