This is Bob Moncrief's page to store Timeline information from before the outbreak that he comes across in filling out Project Timeline.
Pre-Founding of Malton
- 37 A.D.: According to some sources, the area that is now Malton was first inhabited.
- 45: The area of Malton (then called Caswill is conquered by the Roman emperor Vespasian.
- ca. 425: The Celtic Principality of Azuria is founded in modern-day Nixbank.
- ca. 804: The Principality of Azuria is subsumed by Mercia.
- 900s: A leprosy colony is founded in the modern Ridleybank area.
- 1300s: The Black Death sweeps through the area, and Blackmore is used as a dumping ground for bodies.
- 1300s: Over the course of the century, a series of spontaneous combustions take place.
- 1500s: The Cleave Family moves to the area of Cleave Street from Scotland. They later open The Cleaves Arms.
- 1573: St. Lazarus's Chapel is constructed by Greek Cypriots.
- 1600s: The name of Galbraith Hills is derived from the smelly burial traditions there.
- 1609: Stanbury Village is named after Sir Francis Stansbury.
- July 1613: A number of murders take place in the Beck Family row.
- 1690: Miskatonic University founded in Arkham.
- 1692: The Massacre of Glen Kevan occurs north of modern-day Malton.
- 1766-70: St. Perpetua's Church is built, replacing an asylum which had been destroyed by arson.
- 1776: The Molly Corporation is founded and begins selling tasty snacks.
- 1815: Amos Abot is appointed Lord Mayor of Malton.
1820 to 1911
- 1820: The city of Malton is founded from several small towns in the area.
- 1823: Amos Abot, Lord Mayor of Malton, dies in office.
- 1838: William Axworthy invents a steam-powered tree-axer.
- 1842: The Cabell Arms opens.
- 1848: William Axworthy invents a steam-powered tree-feller.
- 1870: Lort Lamport born in South Africa.
- ca. 1890-1910: The Bastable Brothers pair of thieves are active in Malton.
- ca. 1890: Malton Rovers Football Club founded.
- 1899: Beer Place School in Crowbank is founded as a mental asylum.
- 1903: The original Power Towers is constructed. It burns down in 1912.
- 1907: St. Celestine's Church is established in Wyke Hills.
- 1909: Lamport Hills is formed, originally named Southern Drewbay and later renamed after Lord Lamport.
- ca. 1910s: Richard Curton is mayor of Chancelwood for more than 20 years.
- 1910: The ruins of a Roman temple are found on the site of St. Silverius's Church.
1912 to 1950
- 1912: Malton Electronography established.
- August 15th, 1912: The Great Fire of 1912 begins in several places simultaneously. During the fire, much of the city is destroyed, including all the records of the Malton Rovers Football Club. Cyril Alner IV and many others are among the casualties.
- August 24th, 1912: The Great Fire of 1912 ends.
- October 1912: Construction begins on Fort Perryn.
- 1919: The Classey Monument is built to honor the First World War dead.
- 1920s: Peak of the career of burlesque dancer "The Saucy Duchess", Eustenia Abot.
- 1920: Alner Mansion is built in Pegrum by Peter Alner.
- 1922: Ridleybank is incorporated.
- 1922: After a failed attempt to rename it Alnerville, the suburb of Pegrum is renamed Roachtown. On this occasion, Peter Alner is created the first Viscount of Alner.
- 1924: The Lamport National Party is established to protest poor working conditions in the mines of Lamport Hills.
- 1930s: Lowther Lane Fire Station is converted to a fire station from a gift shop.
- 1931: Construction of Adney Towers is completed by Nikolai Smirnoff, who uses the building for secret political and cult purposes until 1939.
- 1934: St. Lazarus's Chapel is knocked down and reconstructed.
- 1935: The Malton Sticks Hockey Club is founded.
- 1940: During World War II, Project Waterloo is undertaken.
- 1941: Much of Malton is bombed by Germans.
- 1942: Lord Lamport dies in a freak greenhouse accident.
- December 19th, 1944: Northern Malton is bombed by Germans again.
- 1948: At the Strange Bank in Barrville, several bank robbers die in a strange satanic ritual.
- 1949: Dick Longman born in Newforkhampstershire.
- 1949: The Abraham Museum is constructed.
1950 to 2000
- 1950s: Beer Place School in Crowbank is shut down.
- 1957: Havercroft Shopping Center opens
- 1960s: Fort Perryn decommissioned.
- August 8th, 1965: Thomas Dinan born in East Yorkshire.
- October 16th, 1965: Johnathon A. Tikhon born in Moscow.
- 1968-1972: Dick Longman serves in Vietnam, achieving the rank of Sergeant. In 1972, he is heroically injured.
- 1970s: The term Amusing Locations in Malton/The Arkham Sisters is first used to describe New and Old Arkham.
- 1970s: Beer Place School in Crowbank is restarted as an alternative education institution.
- 1971: Frederick Alner, 3rd Viscount Alner is murdered on the steps of St. Paul's Church.
- December 1971: The Preston Building is built as the first Necro-Tech facility in Malton.
- 1973: Havercroft Shopping Center is renamed Ackland Mall after The Ackland Family.
- 1973: IRA-affiliated rebel Tarasius leads a band of looters through the city.
- ca. 1973: The Helen Gower Flower Power Tower commune is established in Tollyton.
- 1974: The Lamport National Party wins local elections in Lamport Hills.
- 1975: Archaeological excavations reveal much about the early history of Galbraith Hills.
- 1975: Nichols Mall is constructed.
- Summer 1976: Nichols Mall is closed due to severe damage from a storm.
- 1980s: For at least part of this decade, Lord Crabapple is Tory MP for part of Malton.
- 1980: Hogyson Place is allegedly named after the physical deformities of Dick Longman's son.
- 1981: The Malton Sticks win the Federal League title.
- 1981: Floyde Stadium is built on the former site of St. Symmachus's Church, which is moved to the southwest.
- 1981: Social unrest in Lamport Hills protesting the Lamport National Party government, which promptly collapses.
- 1983: The Longman Building is named after Dick Longman.
- 1983: Floyde Cheezies is established.
- 1984: The tin and coal industry centered on Lamport Hills goes bankrupt, pushing Malton into recession.
- 1984: Damien Alner, 4th Viscount Alner invests the Alner Family fortune in NecroTech.
- 1985: Sir Dick Longman is knighted and The Longman Monument is erected in his honor.
- 1985: Damien Alner, 4th Viscount Alner is murdered by his brothers.
- 1986: Longman Electric founded by Sir Dick Longman.
- 1987: During ongoing economic recession, food riots occur in Lamport Hills.
- 1988: Malton Electronography and Longman Electric merge to form Malton Electric.
- 1993: Mitch Cabell dies in hiding in Scotland.
- 1994: Necro-Tech acquires the bankrupt cryonics firm CryoLogistics.
- 1995: Nichols Mall reopens.
- 1997: Riversong radio station's first broadcast
- 1999: The new Green Power Towers is constructed.
- June 15th, 1999: The Harmsworth Massacre takes place at Harmsworth Bank in Kinch Heights.
2000 to 2005
- 2003: The Malton Rippers Basketball Team begins playing at Rodges Stadium.
- 2003: The Colbourne Mishap occurs on Colbourne Boulevard.
- May 10th, 2003: The Kevokov Bombing kills Thomas Dinan and thirty-two others at The Dinan Hotel.
- July 3rd, 2005: an outbreak of a mysterious virus occurs in Malton. A PTA meeting is being held at Godsland Street School at the time. Sir Dick Longman goes missing.
