August

August 12th

All is quiet in Miltown as the rebuild slowly starts. Survivors are spread about the suburb but very low numbers means Miltown is more like a ghost town than it's usual safe self. The active survivor groups are publicising their activities by tagging buildings, hoping more people will come and hang out and help the rebuild. Zombie presence is back to normal levels, though that doesn't mean they can't wreak havoc --TouchingVirus 16:29, 12 August 2011 (BST)

August 5th

As The Dead march through Miltown there are no buildings left for them to ruin. Tickle hosts 12 zombies, all NTs are down and the damage is catastrophic. Survivors are just hoping they will move on and the rebuild can get underway --TouchingVirus 14:42, 4 August 2011 (BST)

Frequent break-ins, espeacially in the central part, pose a threat to survivours in that area. A group of 25-30 loosely organized zombies, most of them rotters, is sucessfully trying dislodge survivors in that area. After a brief period of stabilisation it seems that struggle for domiance in this marginally populated suburb will continue for a while. With all three hospitals in the suburb ruined, Fliney NT down, I'd suggest raising the danger level to dangerous again.--John die Kralle 14:59, 30 July 2009 (BST)

Miltown is overrun with zerg armies and scoundrels. The Sainthood, along with various low level Rotter-Cops, clog resource buildings and use zerg-tactics to discourage survivor groups from fair play. Ripples from the passing of the Second Big Bash led to Miltown being almost entirely reduced to rubble, with a scant couple of survivors making it through the Christmas period. The Know Nothings have recuperated and returned to rebuild. There are a number of zombies in the suburb, but they don't seem to be doing much at this point - possibly digesting their Christmas meals. The struggle for Miltown continues. Each time the Know Nothings get an NT running and the suburb seems safer, a group of co-ordinated zombies descends and ruins it within a few days, then sleeps there. It is unclear where the zombies come from, if they have an affiliation, or how they know the NTs are lit, but it is a gripping back-and-forth battle. The low survivor population may prove telling.

October

October 29th

A day or so after The Know Nothings reclaimed Fliney NT, a force of a dozen zombies descended on it and ruined it. The survivors rapidly regrouped and took McCullock NT, and the battle for the suburb is, as it has been for months, intense. The low density of survivors means that an ongoing game of 'whack-a-mole' is being played, with zombies ruining buildings on one side of the suburb only to find them being repaired on the other. --David Suzuki 05:25, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

The battle for Miltown continues, with buildings changing hands regularly. December

December 29th

For some reason every generator that I set up in Fricker Crescent PD gets destroyed, despite my appeals for reason to the inhabitants. Perhaps the survivors there are some sort of barbarian revivalists?

December 17th

(the real December 17)

In a startling (but not unexpected) turn of events, the ODRS group ignored all requests for discussion regarding their declared state of war against the Coalition. Group member Oponn opened hostilities by PKing a member of the Coalition while he was enjoying his sunday lunch. A rallying call went out across the airwaves and the Coalition dead returned to Miltown in order to exact revenge.

Due to the evil nature of Oponns crime, his location was temporarily flagged with spray tag. This was quickly overwritten after the building was re-barricaded to prevent unnecessary future break ins.

December 17th

Today, The Coalition elected to wage war with the ODRS. They freeran into the ODRS' base of operations and dismantled the barricades, allowing the members of their "Zed Squad" to enter and start attacking survivors. The ODRS has stated that it is war, and they will not stop till revenge has been given.

December 16th

Yet again a group turns up in Miltown with the sole purpose of attacking The Coalition and begins spouting lies in order to justify their unprovoked war.

Why are these claims lies? Three reasons.

-Miltown is currently safer than it has ever been. Barricades are higher, more revives are occuring and more injured survivors are being healed. Mainly thanks to The Coalition (though groups from surrounding suburbs have assisted in this). The Coalition have even relaxed their targetting of powered NT buildings over the Christmas period in order to make Miltown safer for the festive season.
-The Coalition "zed squad" is currently following the Christmas shoppers and are not even in Miltown at the moment - The Joachim Mall decorative lights proved too attractive to resist.
-The ODRS seem to be in the habit of predicting the future. It seems that sometime tomorrow a Coalition member will strip the barricades from the ODRS base of operations. If the ODRS are desperate for a war, we can make this happen - but it hasn't yet and isn't currently planned.(check the history if the date has been changed *8-) )

Some kind of discussion before a declaration of war would also be welcomed.

December 12th

This evening, the group ODRS has decided that they will move into Miltown and set up shop there, until they have done as much help as they can. ODRS is a small group, that would like to work well with the other groups, but in the event of a gang war, they will retaliate with vicious guerilla warfare, as is stated by their leader.

November

November 30th

Barricades have been coming back up and lights back on around the suburb over the last week as survivors make a concerted effort to create safe places to shelter from the harsh elements of winter. Some may even be planning their christmas stopovers and preparing in advance.

Survivors have been seen making regular trips up to Joachim Mall in nearby Fryerbank, presumably for last minute gift shopping or picking up supplies to last the long nights.

Miltown is Scorched Earth no longer, more Roasted Chestnuts.

November 20th

A sudden peace has descended over Miltown. The ongoing gang war between The Coalition and the Philosophe Knights/Brainiac Alliance seems to have reached an impass. The Coalition have apparently adopted a "scorched earth" policy, and most have been seen in post-mortal form prowling the streets and opening up any barricaded building they find. Miltown is currently firmly in the hands of zombie-kind, with nearly all buildings opened and ransacked and only isolated pockets of survivors remaining.

If one must speculate over the sudden mass-transition of The Coalition into post-mortal form then one must look at their unique philosophy. Perhaps they have decided to bring peace to the suburb by favouring the Dead over the Quick? Perhaps a phyrric victory is better than endless war? Whatever the reason, there has yet to be any sign of a counter-strike from the Philosophe Knight/Brainiac Alliance.

Revive cover is horrible to non-existent for this suburb. If you are a survivor, it is recommended that you avoid Milton.

November 16th

Miltown is currently seeing an increased level of zombie activity, the cause of which is debatable. It is evident, however, that zombies appear to be drawn to the lights of nearby buildings. Neither barricade plan is being enforced and most of the resource buildings have been ransacked.

November 13th

See Miltown Talk pages for this entry and associated discussions

November 6th

The Fliney Building has now been cleared and secured. However, it is not known how long it will remain that way, so take what you can from there but try to avoid staying the night.

November 5th

This week saw the beginning of human vs human combat between The Brainiacs and The Coalition over equipment usage and destruction. A third group apparantly active in this suburb for over a week, The Hell-bringers, have not been seen or heard from since their announcement. This squabble has further weakened the already poor infrastructure in this suburb, leading to extremely long revive times and frequent break-ins at all resource buildings. Only two buildings in the suburb are known to be powered, and survivors appear to be gravitating towards each other for perceived greater protection. Those wishing for a speedy return to life are advised to visit the excellently manned revivication points in neighbouring suburbs. Discussions between the two sides aiming to restore relative calm to the suburb should begin shortly- once progress has been made, another status report will be posted here. While such discussions are in progress, The Brainiacs would request that all inhabitants of Miltown go about a neutral policy of attacking zombies, not survivors, until we can get this mess straightened out. FOR SCIENCE!!

Are you kidding! Half the zombies around tickle cresent must be hell bringers! Oh and happy bonfire night from the hell bringers, a day to be mourned.

October

Thus begins the weekly Miltown status report. Whereas the northern-western side of the suburb seems relatively secure, even there break-ins are frequent, and most of the suburb is smashed, ransacked, and zombiefied. The phone mast is offline. Due to a lack of public support (probably due to the small number of survivors here), the sheer volume of zombies we're encountering, and our small group size, The Brainiacs can no longer maintain the revive point at Tickle Crescent in any sort of consistent manner. Those who wish to return to life are advised to visit the revive points in neighbouring suburbs. If anyone reading this shares our dream of establishing an academic utopia, or, hell, just wants to shoot a lot of zombies, we strongly encourage you to visit our little suburb. The Brainiacs will be adopting a series of less confrontational tactics over the next few days in an attempt to focus our capacity where it will be most effective. FOR SCIENCE!!

October 27th

The Hell-bringers are dead and kicking. Ready to kill you all. Wake up people. Wake up dead.

October 20th

After a long and arduous trek consisting of heated debate, exhaustive genetic testing, and a disturbing lack of caffeinated beverages, The Brainiacs have arrived in Miltown and claimed The Fliney Building as their Lab and base of operations. They work tirelessly to study the science of Zombology... among other things. As part of their field work, Brainiacs are maintaining a revive point at Tickle Crescent, increasing barricade levels all round, and offering free medical care to anyone who stops by their new lab. Expect an overall increase in Miltown's inhabitability as they work to restore power and infrastructure over the coming days. FOR SCIENCE!!

September

September 14th

The Silent Running are scouting Miltown. There are three small packs of zombies, none above five. They aren't very active as many resource buildings were found barricaded and empty. Survivor presence seems quite small, so actually the suburb danger level should be read as 'desert'. --Doc Groucho 12:58, 14 September 2006 (BST)

September 12th

Redback and a small group of other Coalition members have been spotted alive and well in the borders of Miltown. His group are said to be the first wave of Coalition members flooding back to the this wonderful suburb. It has been observed that barricades are going up in their wake and zombies are smelling strange. Even radio Coalition - Spread the disease, will be coming back to Miltown in a few days.

September 6th

Coalition zombies have been seen once again walking around the street of Miltown. However, like most of the living no Coalition survivors have been seen in Miltown. It would appear that they got scattered while trying to survive the Big Bash. But it has been announced on Coalition FM - Spread the Infection on 27.00Mhz, that the survivors are making their slow way back to their homes.

August

August 16th

The Zombies from the Big Bash have come through and cleaned out any form of human life. Every building has been broken into, every brain that was left hiding has been eaten.

August 7th

Zombies are beginning to appear in small numbers on the westernern border.

July

July 25th

The Pennville freedom movement and other allies are lining up to help you in Miltown as we will be hit 1st. Let us help you and you help us. Help us set up a perimeter in Pennville and fryerbank, and Northern Miltown. We can be the first to stop this rampage. Respond here if you wish for reinforcements.

With the Big Bash only two suburbs away, the people of Miltown are beginning to smell the hordes soon to be heading this way.

It would appear that the north of Miltown is currently the safest part of the Suburb. With barricades being part up and maintained especially in the North Eastern part and generators only being put up in resource buildings, but this safety will not last for long once the Bash looks towards our fair suburb.

Reports have indicated that the South of the Suburb is safe and barricaded up, while it temporally had some barricades, the number of building with barricades have since been greatly reduced due to lack of maintenance and possible advance scouts of the Big Bash. If made safe, the South could be the safest place from the Bash. Currently it is not safe for an unorganised expedition.

It has been recommended that survivors stock up on FAK, ammo and revive syringes, while barricades should be maintained to maximum with every third building being an access building, to help defend Miltown from this scourge.

July 21st

Despite claims made on "Radio Coalition" AKA, the 27.00 Mhz frequency, Barricades are up, and have been up for quite some time all over southern miltown. Thanks go out to the efforts made by Doom Patrol members.

July 14th

Sigh....Please see the Miltown Discussion Page for the response to the unfounded accusations occuring below...again....–Ray Vern Pig.gifphz T 19:17, 18 July 2006 (BST)

It has been made clear that The Coalition controls this current events board and any attempts to edit this page by a non Coalition member will be deleted without question.

On to other "Current events," Doom Patrol has managed to clear the entire southern sector of Miltown and barricades are up in virtually every building. Doom Patrol asks any survivor groups who are actually helping the effort in surrounding areas to join in, as it will not be long before the zerging zombies of another group in the suburb close in on this recently liberated area.

July 13th

Along similar lines, all visitors and residents should be aware that radio frequency 27.00 is a Coalition frequency. Doom Patrol, a survivor group in Miltown, recommends all radio traffic (when Coalition humans don’t GK) continue to use the 26.20 frequency originally in place and identified in the wiki as Miltown's frequency.

Finally, Doom Patrol formally requests that consultation take place before Coalition members arbitrarily move or edit any DP post on this or any other wiki page (ud.doompatrol at gmail.com). Q240z 07:31, July 13, 2006 (EST)

Yet another entry that wasn't relevant to the Current Event section - shifted offending portion to the discussion board. Email notification sent as requested. Please limit contributions in this section to actual events. - Rayvern 09:56, 6 July 2006 (GMT)

July 4th

This entry has been shifted to the discussion page. It did not described an event occuring in Miltown, it was merely a warning to other survivors in the area (albeit an inflamatory and unfounded warning).
The entry was likely to generate a significant response that would leave the main page untidy, so it was deemed more appropriately placed on the discussion page. - Rayvern 09:56, 6 July 2006 (GMT)

July 3rd

Due to the lack of activity on the 26.20 Mhz frequency, the Miltown Radio Operators Bureau recommend switching to 27.00 Mhz for updates on local events and notifications.

Juneth

June 14

In this neglected corner of hell, small groups of survivors fight equally small groups of zombies. Buildings are reclaimed, and then overrun a day later. Resource buildings bordering other suburbs last longer, while the ones in the middle of Miltown are barely secured for a few hours. Radio operators are requested to use the 26.20 frequency covering Miltown and the adjacent suburbs, in the hopes that survivors from adjacent suburbs may be encouraged to help secure the area.

May

May 5th

Contrary to claims made on some private forums The Coalition seems reasonable, sanctioning of GKing and embracing the zombie lifestyle notwithstanding. Doom Patrol has corrected its Wiki page to reflect BRAINS's true group status. I also noticed that somebody has tagged Miltown buildings with...uncomplimentary claims regarding The Coalition. I have linked a thread on our private forum to this page and have requested that Doom Patrollers not provoke The Coalition because of the recent PK events.

As a group, we are opposed to ad hoc bounty hunter lists and grassroots vigilantism as much as we are to PKers, GKers, and barricades above VS+++ on every building in sight, and will continue to report to recognized authorities and revive as necessary.

Edited out as proposed - I left in the above as it describes what Doom Patrol stands for and is a good summary of where Doom Patrol and The Coalition currently stand. You have my thanks for your understanding and reasoned response - Rayvern

March

March 16th

SWFM has Disbanded.

The misunderstanding between The Coalition and PK13 has now been cleared up. Peace has hopefully returned to our usually tranquil suburb.

March 15th

After a long time of lack of presence of activity, many people are starting to think that the SWFM had dissapeared. That is not true. The current rumour is that its leader,Ese,started to make a new, reorganised SWFM. You will be kept up-to- date

March 13th

The Coalition have been the target of several attacks by the PKer Group PK13. It seems they have declared war on The Coalition because of a misunderstanding.
The Coalition are dedicated to stoppping PKing and ZKing in Miltown. To this end a list of all those conducting these activities is being maintained. Those responsible will no longer be welcome in this Suburb.

March 8th

Slayer90 and some DK13 members have been dismissed without honors from DK13. Slayer90 is reviving PK13 to eliminate the coalition threat, he said.

DK13 is NOT responsible of any act of slayer90 and his group.

March 7th

DK13 : tremendous internal fight between DK13 members, started with a simple argument and ended with every member taking a side.

March 1st

The Coalition officially declared their presence and intention to stay in this suburb. When asked about why they chose Miltown, a spokesbeing was heard to say "mAHMNHGRHZMn haRZ ZZMNHAan aAHr, gRHRHGB BZarBGRZ, anGB RZanHGaRZHGAHZZ MNRHZZaMN RZHArBBAHZZHARZ. HGhHA nAHghHG MNAHRZHA AHRZ GHNMAHHAHG, bNMHG mRHRZHG RH" ("We like the local meat" according to his living companion, who agreed to translate for us).

February

February 28th

DK13  : operation Golden Dagger is going well. this is the Third day of the operation and we revived 14 zeds. We did not revive at the official revive point though. More efforts will be made, more syrings will be manufactured, more survivors will be revived, we promise.

Just hold on and be patient, we suffer daily attacks from zombies who either kill survivors or destroy the generator.

It has came to DK13 attention that there is a number of survivors trying to make ( a new group maybe ?) its head start from Bancker bank. DK13 will support such action And Help Any New group thats willing to help survivors. If so, DK13 would strongly recommand to be contacted to put plans for the new situation.

February 28th

Callistus General Hospital [93, 97]: Barricades torn down, was unable to verify its status inside. Barricades are being torn down all over the Southern end of the suburb. Anyone willing to help contact either DK13 or get to Bancker bank and help defend the area from there. Isolated survivor groups are present in many buildings but seem unwilling to do anything about the conditions outside.

February 26th

DK13 : Operation Golden Dagger is Taking place. DK13 members successfully established a new safe house after the daily breach of the old one. operation GOLDEN DAGGER will concentrate on reviving victims of the zombie-over run. Getting more fire power to stand against the zombies and clear miltown.

Everyone who needs a revive should move to the the Balle Monument [96, 95]. Anywhere Else you will simply receive a headshot.

February 22nd

Miltown is hopeless. After the PFM, BMC, DK13 and MDC raided and cleared the burb of almost all zeds in Operation Attrition it has been over run again. Local groups of Miltown were too lazy to help in the fight with the exception of DK13. Thus the burb is half and half for survivor/zombie ratio. Thus PFM will no longer assist in helping to defend Miltown due to no action taken at all by a certain group in the area. They will have to fend for themselves and more than likely will be dissolved. Miltown needs a real group to defend the area from the zombie threat.

January

January 29th

All survivors be forwarned that Church of the Resurrection members have been sighted operating with the zombie hordes in Miltown. Be on your guard.

January 28th

Due to the mass influx of stenches in Miltown, Operation Attrition has begun here. The members of the SWFM, DK13, Pennville Freedom Movement, Malton Defense Corporation and the British Military Command have swarmed into the area and are targeting stenches and priority buildings. Wadham PD was over run a few days ago, but Members of the BMC and DK13 hit it with small runs to fend them off days before the main assault. The PFM came in and Barricaded it as well. The factory with the phone mast had the doors wide open, but members of MDC and PFM stormed the building and killed three flaked zeds and dumped them before they could destroy the generator. It is 'caded back up and power is still on in the area. Other buildings of interest will soon be liberated from the stenches. the Fliney Building [95, 95], the necrotech, next to the mast building was over run but has since been re-occupied by survivors and is VHB. All zeds at Balle monument next door to the necrotech will be left untouched as this is a revive point. Anyone with syringes is encouraged to come and help with the reviving. Josephine General Hospital [96, 96] on last count had 19 zeds outside. Not sure of conditions inside. This will be updated shortly. If all is successful Members from some groups leading the Attrition assault will stay behind to fight off remaining zeds who stand back up. More to come as it is reported. Out....

Update: Josephine General Hospital [96, 96] brought to VHB but 8 zeds inside.

January 19th

Mobs of zombies have formed and routinely breach resource buildings. From this epicenter, several surrounding buildings have also fallen. The pressure is building in Miltown, formerly a lax security zone. Anyone without freeruning is ill advised to advance into Miltown, as there is a lack of consistently VS barricaded buildings. The situation is slowly escalating to a boil between the zombie and human factions. As of now the humans maintain control over the suburb as a whole.

January 12th

Growing mobs of zombies have been attacking hospitials and NecroTech buildings.

Old Suburb History

Previously considered a moderately zombie-infested and relatively dull suburb, in mid-December Miltown became the scene of a battle between the The Socialist Worker's Front of Malton of Malton and PK13, and there were reports of a growing undead hoarde centered around the Bodd Museum as well. The Fryerbank Hunters, Classic Battletech Revolutionaries, Pennville Freedom Movement and Protectors of the Land fought to eleminate the zombie threat. By the end of December, the zombie presence seemed to have lessened, coinciding with the declared end of the SWFM-PK13 Conflict to perhaps usher in a new era of peace in Miltown. Which was also aided by several covert actions by the scavengers.
