Thank you I can do with all the advice I can gather, your name sounds familiar something to do with Red Rum possibly? I copied Aphelions page to give me an idea of the general setup. It a little more complicated than I imagined. Eventually I thought it might even lead to setting up a group on here. Rabit Hole and DHPD Testemonials
AS far as the Rabit Hole goes I doubt anyone else in the DHPD even know about it since it dates back to 2006 and was part of a Massive arby's case that ended up getting Maxwell Hammer/Reetoric permabans. The Testimonials I'm sure just didn't get moved when people decided that everything had to be in the DHPD Namespace. Though it is pretty obvious by its title who it belongs to. The images that just won't die.
On one of your pages somewhere you keep a small history of those three images that refuse to be removed from the lists despite being deleted. Well on Special:Unusedimages all three obviously show up (near the top), but better yet all three original files are on there and still recoverable. Mayhaps reuploading those original files, triggering a few updates in the job queue then nuking the images will do the job? Dunno, just thinking aloud here. -- RoosterDragon 21:01, 29 June 2009 (BST)
- We have tried uploading the original files, and according to the revision history, Karek tried restoring a revision back in 2008, and by the looks of it, it didn't work :( I was always interested in just uploading my own images over it, but Link already tried that and apparently it doesn't work either. For some reason, there are extra codes on the filenames, eg. %E2%80%8EPDA_Badge.jpg, which ties these images in the same group as the pages that similarly won't die ([eg. 7th Fallschirmjger Div.) Now, if we find a way to de-code the sections (%E2%80%8E), upload an image with those symbols, then maybe it would upload it over what the Wiki thinks the images are? The upload thing appears to lose the code in transition though, might need a bit more thinking before we get there yet... -- RoosterDragon 16:32, 1 July 2009 (BST)
- Uploaded the original PDA badge for another try. It appears as a separate listing on the unused files, so that's proof the the nicely named image which I uploaded is a different file from the crap one. All the old deletions are just deleting the nice file. The problem is all the links to the crap one are redirected by the wiki to the nice one. So some meddling around with the upload destination or some URL fiddling when deleting the image is in order. -- RoosterDragon 17:20, 1 July 2009 (BST)
Just tried fiddling around with the URL when uploading: http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php?title=Special:Upload&wpDestFile=%E2%80%8EPDA_Badge.jpg and then attempting to upload yields:
- File name has been changed to "PDA_Badge.jpg".
- A file with this name exists already, please check Image:PDA Badge.jpg if you are not sure if you want to change it.
So it removes the mark, and then of course the filename matches the nice one. How did the image ever make it in the first place if it removes the stupid code? -- RoosterDragon 17:32, 1 July 2009 (BST)
- ... Maybe an older version of Wiki software didn't change the filename, then Kevan updated the software (after these images were uploaded), and the new software had a feature which did not allow this type of symbol use when uploading files? If you were the exact same group but called the Parasol Biohazard Containment Service, then perhaps I wouldn't be against your group, however tryhard and irritating it looks (Grand Marshal? General? Please...) But I don't approve of groups taking the name of Umbrella and making it into the own group. If we would disband UC and UBCS then you can count on one hand how long it would take for a trenchcoater to turn Umbrella into the laughingstock that probably won't even hit the statspage. Of course. Under sockpuppetry in the wiki, we find a subsection for meat puppet: "Editors of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia use "meat puppet" to deprecate contributions from a new community member if the new member was (apparently) recruited by an existing member only to back up the recruiting member's position." Of course I wouldn't stoop to that. A couple of members of CAPD and the SWA do already actively maintain wiki accounts and contribute to the wiki. For any interested parties, I've defended my actions on User_talk:Cyberbob240#Garr_Knock_it_off. With this, the matter is resolved for me, regardless of how the vote goes. Archiving
I've been archiving a few suburb News posts, and I've arrived at a conundrum. I've archived the whole month of June for most suburbs, but not deleted posts under a month old. Is this correct? Or should I be deleting the whole month?--Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 17:56, 14 July 2009 (BST)
- While we're at it, what do I do if the last post on a page is more than a month old? Do I leave it, or put some snazzy line saying "There is no recent news for this suburb. Go to the archive, indicated here." --Yonnua Koponen Talk ! Contribs 18:00, 14 July 2009 (BST)
- There isn't a rule of thumb, but for the first problem, generally you just archive the whole month regardless of whether it's over a month old or not. Especially at this time of month, where it usually doesn't matter. For the second problem, just get rid of all the old news and add that notice, probably saying There is no recent news for this suburb. News older than 1st July 2009 can be found in the archive. The given month in a notice like this won't need an update because anyone who adds to the news will delete it anyway, but otherwise people will know just when the last news post was. Historical use of Historical
History was made today when a historically large amount of history was revised so that future history for this historical idea will be different. As future history was changed in one way, and pending this historical votes passing, in another, the word "historical" itself and all of it's other tenses and uses were used a historical number of times. When historical members of the community were asked to comment on this historical day, a historical number of them didn't care at all. For this quasi -historical figure, I would just like to say I can't wait until this day and these writings are historical.--SirArgo Talk 18:33, 20 July 2009 (BST)

Quick Question
Can anything be done about This? I find it amusing, because the fellow who created it is long gone, and I've been a PKer for awhile. I'm just curious if it could be deleted or some such. It's not really fun when someone searches my username and comes up with that farce. Thanks for anything. -- THELORDGUNSLINGER 22:18, 20 July 2009 (BST)
- Actually, yes it can be deleted. It's one of those one-off groups that don't go anywhere. Not to mention that it was an almost entire copy of the old kill Deus page, which has since changed. And not to mention that pudge was a griefer that the Demons (who Kill Deus was playing against, and in a good manner, at the time) nor the members of Deus liked him (if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure about the Deus's, but I was a Demon at the time, so I know we didn't like him). It could easily be put up for deletions, hell, if you put it on SD as a crit one, I'd delete it myself. They even use the same image that Kill deus used, and the one they use on their template Template:Kill_Deus257.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 22:39, 20 July 2009 (BST)
- I've put it up for A/SD, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were sent to A/D, or even just rejected outright. Still, it could always be moved to a subpage of the user's namespace. We'll see how it goes. --ϑϑℜ 03:30, 21 July 2009 (BST)

- Heh. Once again you fail to mount an argument. Time to hide behind your insults and your little clique. You're getting far too predictable :) --Mr. Angel, Help needed? 05:59, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Yes, your right, but that's not enough here. Come back when you have some friends over at the sysops team. --Cyberbob 05:52, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- I know I screwed up really badly, but there's literally nothing else I can do apart from work to make sure it never happens again. I think I deserve a second chance - I really do. I know you don't believe me on this one but my motivation in making those cases and whatnot was seriously not in bad faith. That is the honest truth.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 05:50, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Yeah I know that's pretty harsh... But, you may not believe this... but even when I go one a histrionics binge, I can most always step back and admit when I am wrong... and/or back off, let things cool down and give a person a deserved "second chance". The fact that you don't get any such consideration shows how completely reproachable and over-the-top I consider your behavior to be. You blew it, man, big time. --Cyberbob 05:40, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Does "being the bigger man" ring any kind of bell at all? Seriously, you could fight and troll yourself couldn't you?--SirArgo Talk 05:31, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Also a very nice way to attempt to sidestep my refutations of DDR's mis-appropriation of what Wan was talking about.... You're damn good at the sleazeball politician thing, SA, damn good, I'll give you that much. --Cyberbob 05:27, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- I am honestly sorry, but for some things bad faith is not a prerequisite for vandalism. That is one of them. You'll note that I have taken steps to try and ensure that nobody unknowingly does it again in the way I did with the creation of this section. That's the absolute best I can do after the fact.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 05:22, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Oh SA you're so droll. Now, someday, maybe you'll pay less attention to being such a wag, and more attention to not making stupid "mistake" after stupid "mistake"... Then we won't have to listen to more of your repeated "apologies" or hollow promises that such things won't happen again, either. --Cyberbob 05:12, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- What the hell are you talking about now???--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 05:10, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Strawman. --Cyberbob 05:09, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- This isn't your personal fiefdom,
- Oooooooooooh, ad hominems! I'm so impressed!--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 05:07, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Once more you turn it into a personal attack, scoffing off legitimate criticism as trying to "score drama points". I see, finally, how hopeless it is to expect you to take responsibility for your actions and to act even a little like an adult. Feh. --ϑϑℜ 05:04, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- How long have you been on the wiki, SA? You've been a sysop before. You claim you know the rules, etc. etc. Why do you keep doing these things when you really ought to know better? Stop making excuses. Seriously. --Cyberbob 04:55, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- I hate you too cb. ^^--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 04:47, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- It was pretty obviously a deliberate action, done to make sure your action got through early, and thus your hegemony. But let's assume for a minute that there was no wilful, malicious intent here -- we'll stretch the limits of our credulity, to point of bursting, just for argument's sake... Well, even in that case, you're clearly incompetent and untrustworthy. Enough is fucking enough. --Cyberbob 04:42, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- I got a/vb'd for time zone confusion. :/--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 04:40, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- I would say this is likely a case of timezone differences rather than any kind of HOLY FUCKING SHIT MISCONDUCT WAG UR FINGER --Cyberbob 01:47, 29 July 2009 (BST)
HA HA HA. The extent of your delusions is truly amazing. By all means, try to keep your fucktarded ramblings out of my way. I only deal with them perfunctorily, and would gladly not waste any more of my time on them. Up to you.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 06:14, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Q.E.D. --Cyberbob 06:19, 29 July 2009 (BST)

- I live in a country where we use common law, as inhereted from the UK. Which means that the tradition of established precedent rules. And if a judge goes against established precedent his ruling can be -- and routinely is, in such rare cases -- overturned. As for the rest of it... you were being mocked, SA, pure and simple... but your response demonstrates what a self-important prig you are... which was why I was trolling you in the first place, lol --Cyberbob 06:28, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Did you have to attend some sort of special trade school in order to learn how to be this obtuse?--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 06:33, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Just pointing out the obvious. Sorry if it didn't appeal. --Cyberbob 06:42, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- Ha ha ha. Seriously, in order to point out something you have to present some kind of evidence, not just make statements and toss around weak insults. Point that out. Heh.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 06:49, 29 July 2009 (BST)
- LOL I was just looking for that quote to use... --ϑϑℜ 09:54, 29 July 2009 (BST)

Thanks for ruining 90% of the joke with that heading change. --Cyberbob 07:46, 30 July 2009 (BST)

If you're going to nitpick me...
I'll be happy to nitpick you back.
In reference to your statement: "I respect it. Unlike Giles, he had the decency to go against, rather than persistently complain and then vouch."
I didn't persistently complain and then vouch.
In fact, the precise order of my statements was - question, complaint, vouch, complaint.
Your pal,
--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 21:15, 31 July 2009 (BST)
- Exactly. If all you are going to do is criticise him, then why not just go against? If your comment isn't supportive in any way, it doesn't say much for your vouch, and it's obvious you don't want to vouch, and if you do, it's near impossible to tell. You might want to add something decent on besides all the negativity or your vouch is more or less meaningless. --ϑϑℜ 01:51, 1 August 2009 (BST)
- And you were hardly nitpicking, as I was hardly nitpicking you in my initial comment, because there is quite a bit that would have to be said about your a/pm vouch in the first place, if one were so inclined. The problems with it are so obvious, though, that there is no reason for me to go into it. Unnecessary arguments aren't in anyone's interests just now. --ϑϑℜ 02:05, 1 August 2009 (BST)
- Except for me. I'm bored and an argument would be fun to watch.--Mr. Angel, Help needed? 04:05, 1 August 2009 (BST)

Wesnoth is pretty fresh but I burned out on it. Anyways. I don't see any problem with criticizing someone and still agreeing with them in other areas or seeing merit in their overall performance. Perhaps you interpret honest critique as a slap in the face but I don't and from what I gather SA didn't either. I said in my vote that SA is "honest and fair" and that's why I vouched.
Do you read my posts before you huff and puff or do you just look for one thing to disagree with?
After confronting SA and looking at their contributions, I do feel he/she is coming from a good place in their decision making, and to me that's the most important trait in a crat. But I understand how you could view my vouch as being vague. Is a more glittering bit of praise in order?--GANG Giles Sednik CAPD 16:57, 1 August 2009 (BST)
