JON PYRE
Hi everyone. I love UD and I've been on the wiki for over a year now. I have no idea how many edits I've made...thousands? Tens of thousands? I'm very active on the suggestions page and I've been fortunate enough to have a few of my ideas implemented. I'd like to help the people I've been working with for so long. Thanks! --Jon Pyre 05:12, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Strongly Against - This user hasn't done anything for the wiki at all in his extended stay. The only place I see him is on the suggestions page, and all he does there is squabble over ridiculous suggestions. No. Way.--Gage 05:21, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Re In addition to the ideas I've contributed I also wrote the rules that govern policy change for the suggestions page. I believe that is a pretty significant contribution since before there was no actual way to change a rule. The mod spam vote, the moderator veto, I invented many of the powers you yourself employ as a moderator. --Jon Pyre 05:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- AGAINST2 - my right hand says yes, my left hand says no... and I always listen to my girlfriend--THE Godfather of Яesensitized, Anime Sucks Yalk | W! U! WMM| CC CPFOAS LOE ZHU | Яezzens 05:15, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Egads! I have yet to see you take part in a civil discussion, and there was that whole "FUK BOB COZ HE SPAMED MY SUGESTSHUN ROFL" episode. No. Cyberbob Talk 05:20, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Re I believe I was very civil, avoided any personal comments, and simply cited long established suggestion page rules. Rather than make any insult as you imply I simply said I thought he was in error and that I intended to request arbitration to determine who was right. --Jon Pyre 05:45, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- Thank you for finding it Gage. I don't believe it speaks poorly of me at all. --Jon Pyre 05:50, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- You inability to figure out wiki does though. A year? Really? Third level heading?... oh, sorry. looking for *? and when you found it you couldn't indent properly.--Gage 05:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- ... and add this to the list.--Gage 05:56, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- While I have no personal grudge against you, you clearly do against me. Are you actually holding a grudge that I managed to have a suggestion you disliked come to a fair vote? I'll gladly debate you but I don't want to bicker pointlessly. As for your links, perhaps my technical knowledge isn't perfect but it's definitely serviceable. Besides, moderation isn't dependant on any one skill according to the qualifications at the top of this page. --Jon Pyre 06:01, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Er, I believe this is my vote? If you two are going to argue, I suggest you do it below Gage's. 'Sides, Jon, your entering into this simply proves our point. Cyberbob Talk 06:07, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- I apologize, I'm just trying to address criticism. Gage, we can talk more on my discussion page. --Jon Pyre 06:10, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against I'm sorry I'm sure you would do well, but I don't see you outside the Suggestions page. I know you have posted other citations, but I only remember you from the Suggestions page...and that would have to change significantly before I could vouch. Conndrakamod TDHPD CFT 07:35, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - I don't really know you, Jon, and that's the reason I can't vouch. I don't spend much time on the suggestions pages, and you don't seem to go anywhere else. I'm not knocking you for trying to come up with new ideas for the game, but I've seen no evidence that you've ever attempted to shoulder any of the maintenance tasks on the wiki, and that's key to a moderator's gig. -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 07:56, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - You said this once: "I am looking forward though to the regular as clockwork votes saying this is overpowered and that I'm totally clueless as to what balance is. Despite the fact that I probably have more suggestions implemented and in peer reviewed than everyone who's going to vote on this combined. But what do I know, right?" A moderator shouldn't suffer from that kind of egomania. (To be fair, I'd vote against myself on the same grounds - I'm simply too argumentative and opinionated to make a good mod - as are you.) --Funt Solo 14:08, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Re That is an unflattering moment. I think I'm usually pretty level headed and down to earth. I think I was annoyed that particular day over someone calling me a "stupid noob" or something like that even though I'd been on the wiki much longer than them. I did vent my frustrations but I didn't try to pick a fight with anyone or mention anybody by name. --Jon Pyre 03:55, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Sorry John, you may be in a group with me, I may like you, but I don't think your ready for this yet. I see a suggestion page poster. I see someone who isn't helping maintenance. If you want to moderate, do that. I won't vote against you for arguments on the suggestions page, because some of the moderators are babys when anyone contradicts them there. But I don't think you are mod material yet. - 343 U! 00:42, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against Revised my vote after reading a bit... -Certified=Insane☭ 23:04, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - I'd honestly like to vote Vouch but your choice in suggestions and limit to only that makes you a bad choice. You need to either A. Expand outside of Suggestions and actually make good ones. Or B. Leave Suggestions for good and expand out from there. --Sonny Corleone RRF CRF DORIS Hunt! 02:20, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - Yes. Youronlyfriend 07:58, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - I with the others who feel your not ready. I believe Sonny has a good point so I can only vote against. Pillsy FT 12:00, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - I'm afraid the only place I know you is from the suggestions page, on which you continually attempt to make the game less fun. --Karloth vois RR 13:03, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - As good as some of your suggestions have been, Sonny makes an excellent point. Sorry.--J Muller 02:24, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Everyone gave out most of the reasons I was thinking of...sorry. --Axe Hack 12:57, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against There seems to be some honest criticism above, but the candidate seems to be taking some offense. A mod needs to have a thicker skin than that. Asheets 21:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Abstain - I cant vouch you Jon, i really cant. You should be more active outside the suggestions page, so we can get a better idea on how you would react to the real drama that rules most parts of the wiki. Do that, for our Shadow Lord. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 22:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - While I hate most of your suggestions, I'm not holding that against you. What I will hold against you: a single policy, ages ago, and near complete inactivity outside of the suggestions page. Sorry Jon, but no vouch. –Xoid M•T•FU! 02:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- For - I can't believe so many people are voting "against." Sure, most of Jon's contributions are on the suggestions page, but it's an important place. Every time two people go to the UD wiki, one goes to the suggestions page. The place is full of nonsense and spam. Jon is always there. How is this grounds to vote against him? --Ron Burgundy 15:13, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm assuming For = Vouch, and so, with the last Vouch, have moved this to the appropriate section. --Barbecue Barbecue 06:55, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Abstain - I'm hesitant on this one. Sure, he contributes a lot to the Suggestions page, but that's the only place I've ever seen him.--Blue Command Vic DvB 17:57, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Your edits don't seem the type that are enhancing the wiki. From reading the previous promotions there are many moderators who come from the suggestions page, but as Cyberbob240 said in one of them "If suggestions were all that is required, we would have hundreds of mods" - Dark PhantomTalk 03:08, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Abstain - You need some seasoning first, imho. Don't take the quick off-the-cuff comments to heart, thats just how things go on the Wiki. But good spirt. --MorthBabid 05:37, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - On the condition that you leave the suggestions page and put gold in the basket. Good luck. - Bango Skank T W! M! 06:43, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Suggestions page, and what else? Don't get me wrong, I hate your suggestions for the most part, but I do think you're moderator potential. It's just you haven't done anything other than make suggestions and vote on them. –Xoid M•T•FU! 16:13, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - Hasn't done anything for the wiki? Lawlz. Something like half his suggestions end up getting implemented, he's the single best suggester in wiki history. Here's one guy who's actually done something constructive for the game. So it's no wonder that drama loving asshats who spend all their time on Vanconbimistration conspire to shoot it down. Newsflash - the only parts of this wiki that anyone should give a flying fuck about are here and here. Rheingold 04:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Newsflash: knowing the game and what might improve it is no indication that someone is necessarily fit, or inclined for that matter, to waste their free time greasing the wheels of the wiki. –Xoid M•T•FU! 17:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Breaking News: True Xoid, but I believe I also have proven myself on the wiki. I have all of the qualifications for moderation. I've been here over a year, made thousands of edits, written a large part of the rules and regulations that govern the suggestions page, and have been civil and honest. --Jon Pyre 07:30, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

- Vouchy Vouchy - Nice to see someone worthwhile putting their name up. Any guy who suggests things that go virtually straight into the game should definetely be a moderator. -- Cheeseman W!ASBTalk 15:48, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - I've seen you around Suggestions a lot.--Labine50 MH|ME|P 22:27, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch He's a good kid, and deserves the position. --Dickholeguy 04:31, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - His opinions and comments are about as intelligent as those of a parrot, and half as eloquent. --Grim s-Mod U! 09:22, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - I have considered this carefully and decided to give you my meaningless endorsement. Suggestions is a pretty wild place and I don't think someone who knows his way around it would be a bad addition to the mod team. -- ∀lan Watson T·RPM 18:20, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
- Against - Only thing I've noticed about him is that huge pile of suggestions he keeps feeding the wiki with. --Niilomaan GRR!•M! 09:21, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Vouch - Alright, Jon, I will vouch you if you vouch me, lol! --Poopman9 01:58, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Abstain - I just can't decide. On the one hand, you're a great suggestor and don't get bent out of shape that easily. But as others have pointed out, being a great suggestor doesn't necessarily make one a great mod. I just don't know, so I'm going to abstain for now. --Reaper with no name TJ! 16:28, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
