Template:Moderationnav

This page is for the request of page protection within the Urban Dead wiki. Due to philosophical concerns, the ability to protect pages is restricted to system operators. As such, regular users will need to request a protection from the system operators. For consistency and accountability, system operators also adhere to the guidelines listed here.

Guidelines for Protection Requests

All Protection Requests must contain the following information in order to be considered:

  • A link to the page in question. Preferably bolded for visibility.
  • A reason for protection. This should be short and to the point.
  • A signed datestamp. This can be easily done by adding ~~~~ to the end of your request.

Any protection request that does not contain these three pieces of information will not be considered, and will be removed by a system operator.

Once the protection request has been entered, the request shall remain on this page, where it will be reviewed by a member of the Sysop team, and action taken accordingly. Once action has been taken, the system operator will add a comment including a signed datestamp detailing his course of action, and the request will be moved into the Recent Actions queue, where it will remain for one week. After that week is up, it may be moved to the archive (see navigation box below). If the Protection has been granted, the system operator should place the tag {{protect}} on the page(s) that have been protected.

In the event of a system operator requesting a Protection, all the previous points will apply, excepting that a system operator other than the requestor shall review and take action on the request.

Pages in the Protection Queue may already be scheduled protections. For a list of scheduled protections, see here.

I propose a link to the Building Information Center be added to this template on the front page. Danger Reports are a major draw to the wiki, and putting a higher-visibility link to this resource would increase its accesability to readers and potential editors (and boy, does it need potential editors).--~ Red Hawk One Talk | space for lease 05:06, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Remove...

{{HistoricalGroup|Wiki}} from WCDZ -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 17:16, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Hm. Lets have a look. I'm assuming that the request is because its an out of game wiki movement, and has also never been voted on? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 17:43, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
  1. Never been voted on
  2. Never passed
  3. Not applicable, the defining point of a group is that it no longer contributed to the game, this wasn't in it to contribute
  4. Hagnat making shit up for things he's involved with again and abusing his then admin powers to get away with it.
The sub-category needs to go as a speedy when this is removed as well. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 17:59, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm all for removing the template, as long as the whole Historical Category gets deleted. If not, the template should remain. WCDZ was a major contributing group to this wiki in its early stages. It never got voted on because it was deemed historical before this entire historical voting scheme got created. Aaaand, its not me making shit up because it wasnt me the one who added the historical group template on it, rather it was Zarathusta, our former shadowlord, ruler of all conspiracies in this wiki, and a fellow wiki sysop. --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 18:04, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
How convenient. The man who has routinely 'forgotten' things when performing simple tasks on this wiki such as counting seems to remember precisely who put a template on a page so far back it's not covered due to the history purge. What the history does show is you creating an entire sub-category of a policy enforced category for your own group with zero input or oversight from anyone else. This is the kind of crap I was talking about regarding that potential new policy Ross, this needs to be stamped on. It's not in danger of deletion, but it's not historical, it hasn't been voted on and wiki groups can't be historical. Notice the convenience that this is the only group like this as well, in four years there have been no other 'historical wiki groups'? Or is this a case of shit being made up yet again for someone's personal interests. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 18:17, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Its not my fault that no other wiki group managed to get historical status. Its just a matter that their members never sought to achive this status. We could vote for the Witch Burners or the Faerie Queen if you like, since these groups will most likely achive wiki historical status. You argue that i created the wiki historical category without input from the community, well, big news boy, a lot of stuff gets created on the fly and only later get some red tape attached to it. And why cant a wiki group be historical ? --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 18:27, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
'Managed to get historical status'? Just then you said it's because someone put a template on a page.... hardly 'earning it' is it? You can't vote for the Witch Burners or anything else because they never contributed to the game and are thus ineligible for the process. I don't argue you created anything, I have proven you created a sub-category of something that was at that time policy controlled, and still is. It'd be no different to me creating a sub-page of A/VB and handing out warnings, wouldn't fly because of the controlling policy, would it? I stand by the arguments already made, it's never been voted on, neither the page history nor Zarathusta's history show that he added it before the historical policy came into effect and the only evidence we do have to go on is you creating a sub-category of something controlled by policy that this policy would have disqualified from entry. It should be gone, and if it was one of J3D's pages it would. Hmmmm, if Hagnat's saying these don't require votes I should tell J3D, I wonder how full that sub-category would get.... -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 18:43, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
The is a difference between a group of users that organized themselves and created a group to discuss how to improve the wiki and a two man group which mostly annoyed the heck out of the users with their constant advertisements. And, fyi, WCDZ was the base for the creation of Red Rum, since most users which were part of the first were the founding members of the second. So, there, historical importance for both the wiki and the game. --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 20:32, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
Wait, your argument is that members of this group that wasn't in the game also went on to found a group that was in the game? That's it? Tell me why J3D's lot doesn't qualify again? He has a wiki group, members of that wiki group are behind in game groups...
Oh, that's right, Red Rum are different aren't they, they are a huge group that top the stats page.... oh, wait....
It must be the fact that they're historical themselves.... oh, wait....
What we have here is the claims of a user known to make shit up to further his own ends versus my proof that they've never been voted or nor are the applicable for the tag under the policy that was voted in. The lack of other wiki groups supports this conclusion. The page doesn't show that the tag was added before the policy became active, only that when the policy was active Hagnat decided he'd have a sub-category to hide the group from scrutiny. We also have Zaruthustra's contributions that show cover the period in question and don't show him adding the category as Hagnat claims. Evidence > claims. The whole historical tag and not just the sub=category qualifier need to go from this unremarkable vanity page. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 15:16, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
i'm sorry that i was there and i was part of both group creations, and you were not. Because of that, i have a lot of history to tell, or 'claims' as you say, and there is little to no evidence to back my 'claims' mostly because of history wipe, which cleared zar's edits that werent the last edit made to a page. --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 16:50, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I've heard you claim to be behind the creation of groups and running them before, I remember you claiming to be part of the team behind MT2009 before I stopped your delusions of adequacy, until I hear back from some people with actual credibility I'll view these 'claims' in the same way. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 17:13, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
I'll leave it until monday, for people to show some evidence it in someway "managed to get historical status" or I'm more than happy to remove it. We've removed other groups from the historical archive like here, so why not this? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 19:40, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Assylum did shit in game. Does that mean we get an historicals status naow?-- SA 22:43, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

actually, yes, you guys should have gotten historical status. Its because of the importance of Assylum to this wiki that i asked the page to be undeleted in the first place. But since we are in the proccess of removing the historical thing alltogether, i dont see a point for getting it now.
Anyway, i stand for what i said earlier and i dont give a rats arse about what iscariot is trying to pull. WCDZ got historical status way before there was a voting process for ir, the creation of the wiki historical group category aimed to gather all important wiki groups, sadly it didnt got to be used that much. If you have any issues with it, i am fine with it being deleted and WCDZ falling back into the historical group category (for as long as this category exists, anyway) --People's Commissar Hagnat [talk] [wcdz] 20:32, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Right. Foolish and unneeded sub category removed. Stupid purge makes it impossible for me to decide if its historical or not. I wish Iscariot great success in removing the whole historical category. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:45, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Protections Scheduling Queue

Protection Scheduling requests should be requested in the same general format as Deletions. Votes will occur in the same general manner, and like deletion scheduling requests will be voted on for two (2) weeks, as judged by the initial datestamp. Valid votes are:

  • Yea - Approval of Schedule Request
  • Nay - Disapproval of Schedule Request

Note: The archive for Scheduled Protections can be found here.
