Congratulations on the promotion, and welcome to the Moderation team. Talking about irritating users… one of them just got promoted. Go get the adbots you dirty bugger. --Vista 12:57, 28 May 2006 (BST)
- It's still gonna be hard to catch up in the score, many a time has an adbot been banned within minutes of it doing something. It leads to rather amusing block logs though. Not as funny as the time where I think about 5 or 6 different mods banned the one vandal on Uncyclopedia within seconds of each other though. –Xoid S•T•FU! 13:00, 28 May 2006 (BST)

Re: Vandalism
link — Impersonation or changing comments made by other users is considered vandalism, as there are migating circumstances you're not getting a warning but don't do it again.--Vista W! 11:35, 10 May 2006 (BST)
- I fail to see how either of the alterations to his text can be considered impersonation. Provocation? Yeah he provoked me, but I still did nothing wrong. I did not twist his signed comment's meaning in any way, shape or form.
- And if this is about that bolded text up top…
- That could not be taken as impersonation by any rational human. The only logical conclusion that could be drawn was:
- This "Xoid" who disagreed with Rip purr left Rip purr nasty message up above.
- How does making myself look like an arsehole do him any ill, on the contrary it hurts my reputation more. Am I getting threatened with a vandal report for doing something that goes against my interests? –Xoid S•T•FU! 12:25, 10 May 2006 (BST)
- I know it can't be taken as impersonation by anybody rational, it's just the term we use for altering the tone and/or meaning of a conversational text entered by somebody else. (text formatting/spell-checking doesn't count as long as it's clearly to improve the legibility of the text, without altering the wording.) Now it was clear that your changes were not a big deal for the reasons you gave and some others. Now I was annoyed at him for being a obnoxious little tit and I was at rear end of my luchbreak at work, so my text to you to explain this rule was rushed and not of the tone I'd like it to be. It was more to alert you that that rule exists, (I doubt it is practised in this form in many places.) just like blanking of your own talk pages is allowed here, just extremely bad form. (Certainly in the Codename V case.) And because it was on the talk page that has way too many flame fests I didn't give him the talking to he richly deserves. But that is remedied now. --Vista W! 18:43, 10 May 2006 (BST)

A better way to strike
Just letting you know that I've created a new template, Strike, that should allow us to strike comments and other things in a superior way to how we normally strike things. Once the wiki is updated and we can use templates inside of other templates, this will be even handier (e.g., we can use it on the suggestions page). Here's an example of it in action: while right now we strike things, it's even better to strike them in style. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 21:04, 29 July 2006 (BST)
Rhodenbank Locations
First off thanks for the link to the style guide and fixing up the mistakes I made. Anyway I've got a question to ask you, should the Necrotech buildings for Rhodenbank have a single page each (1 2 for example) or be combined like the factories because the info they've got is more or less duplicated? Foxalpha1 03:33, 29 July 2006 (BST)
Suggestion page
speaking of 'speling' and grammer, do you think it would be okay if I corrected mistakes in my suggestion text without changing the suggestion itself? I don't want to edit it if I'm not allowed to now that peopple are voting, but I also don't want it to go to accepted or rejected with a ton of mistakes in retrospect. -- John Teabags 06:59, 28 July 2006 (BST)
- Correcting spelling and grammar mistakes is specifically permitted, so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to. Just don't change the actual content of it or someone will remove it very quickly. Also: please note the notice at the top of my talk page. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:04, 28 July 2006 (BST)

Resource Building grids
Hi Xoid - you asked "Any particular reason you are wasting your time with those grids? There is a map of the suburb below, complete with links to every location in it." - true, for most suburbs, but when all you want is a snapshot of the resource buildings, why poke through the entire map?
I didn't invent this Resource Building grid - I think I first noticed on the Pescodside page - but I think it's a great counterpart to the suburb information templates and the full maps. I don't think I'm wasting my time at all. Madpilot 10:27, 26 July 2006 (BST)

NPOV
Figured this would make most sense here. Yeah. The rules are poorly written. But in my experiance even things that have quite a bit of proof are often removed from the NPOV section - in most cases the NPOV section is bullshit and doesn't give nearly as complete a view of the group as it should simply because it seems that only positive things about the group are 'NPOV'. That's sounds reaaal unbiassed (as you can probably tell... I've had a few run ins with this problem >_<)
There are a few exceptions to this but most of these seem to be groups that people have abandoned. --Tethran 21:18, 24 July 2006 (BST)

Because "display: inline" makes me happy
Who doesn't like a little inline code sometimes? –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 07:22, 20 July 2006 (BST)
- Because that's what <code> is for. The code template was primarily added since it looks similiar to what a leading space would do, but isn't as harsh on the eyes. I mean, Uncyclopedia uses it for it's intended purpose, but I certainly haven't. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:25, 20 July 2006 (BST)
- Correct, but if you haven't noticed, people have been using code when really they should be using <code> — because it sets things off nicely — but suddenly having a block-level element inline with a bunch of text looks like shit. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 07:30, 20 July 2006 (BST)

I've always found the Groupbox template a bit ugly, so I sat down and created a prettier, more XHTML/CSS-y version. Insertion exploit doesn't seem to work from default namespace
I initially tried placing our recruitment template on the non-talk page but using the expression causes the engine to search for the page in the Template: namespace. The form works in much the same way does. ??? I didn't understand why but plunking the Talk: in there worked like a charm. See Josephine's Generals/Rec as used here Template:Josephine's Generals/Rec. I didn't particularly like the Talk: form either as it reeks of confusion. Locationblock/Suburbblock Links
I've been working extensively with Bob's Suburbblock and wanted to get some feedback on matters of style. If you have time, take a look at Barrville#Suburb_Map or Wykewood#Suburb_Map. I have been producing the maps so that blocks which often have there names altered as per the Style Guide display the name as they would be seen in the game yet link to the page as directed in the guide. Wanker Building would be 'the Wanker Building' when viewing the map but the click through would carry you to 'The Wanker Building' and similarly for St Whoever. There seems to be a great deal of inconsistency in how these presented and linked on many 9 block maps currently in place. Do you have any specific thoughts on how these should appear? --Max Grivas JG|T 07:29, 27 June 2006 (BST)

Started adding maps
I've started adding suburb maps to all of the suburb pages (I'm just working my way across the map). I've developed a method that allows me to create the maps easily, so that's not a problem, but the generic buildings ("a warehouse," etc) are not linked automatically to their correct pages (e.g., "Warehouse xx,yy"). There may be other small errors too, but I haven't found any yet. Just to let you know, and if you're ever bored, feel free to pick your favorite suburb and tweak the map to bring everything up to par. I've done the first 10 suburbs so far. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 20:35, 23 June 2006 (BST)
Suburb block
I've created a new template for the Locations project: Suburbblock. You can see it in action at the Darvall Heights page. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 22:10, 21 June 2006 (BST)
I had looked over that page before I made updates to it, and also looked over other fire station pages. I don't see what your point is. There's not much missing on that page, save for a map of the MFD District, which I personally thought was excessive. And while I do understand that my personal opinion doesn't matter, I looked at other FS pages and noticed that the District maps weren't present on a great many of them. If you could tell me exactly what -should- be added to the location Conolly Row Fire Station, then it would save us from more of this going back and forth. --Marked Grimes 21:27, 20 June 2006 (CST)

Location headings in grouped pages
I may be wrong, but the last I checked, it doesn't work too well redirecting to a page with a third level heading. That is why I've been editing all location headings in a grouped page to have 2nd level headings so that #REDIRECT Yagoton Cinemas#Caseley Cinema would go directly to the appropriate section instead of the top of the page. --Nov W!, M, T 02:23, 21 June 2006 (BST)

There is no such rule, actually. The only rule is that if request is moved from Speedy Deletions, then it will have to stay. Preventing authors moving wrongly placed deletion requests before any votes have been placed would be just stupid. --Brizth mod T W! 11:04, 20 June 2006 (BST)

Thanks man, it's been a treat hearing from you. As I noted on the sugg page, my problem is how people are flagged as zergers in the first place. F'rinstance, there were these 4 people, the 'onimoz family' who joined RCDC briefly back in the day. They all had similar names, and they operated together. I asked them if they were zerging. Their explanation was that they're a bunch of students in Mexico City who all share the same computer, which I though was cool, assuming it's true. Do they get flagged as zergers? I dunno. I wasn't really looking for your technical explanation, but I should have made that clearer. Whatever.
Re: this from your last post: "If you want to change that, "philosophy of uncaring" as I call it, then by all means speak up when these arguements start up, and help me make them see the average wiki-goer's veiw point. –Xoid M•T•U! 05:03, 18 June 2006 (BST)"
- Well, I bet most average wiki-goers aren't encouraged by being called idiots when they screw up. Look, the guy that made the map will fix it when he gets the chance; I'll just PM him again now to hurry him along. We apologize for our transgression, and hope to have it remedied shortly. I think it looks cool. But I digress. I wouldn't really characterise the mods on this wiki as perpetuating a 'philosophy of uncaring;' but--as long as you're the one who suggested that--maybe you might ponder whether you're not also part of that problem. That's been my experience with you so far, anyway. Not a big deal. I'm aware of the amount of work you do for the UD community, and I respect that.--Bulgakov 07:58, 20 June 2006 (BST)
- The map has been moved. I wasn't sure if I should delete it from the 'burb talk page as well. I did. I'm not as concerned about visual consistency as you are.
"When I said "philosophy of uncaring" I was talking mainly in regards to prevalent "There are people without 19" monitors? Who gives a shit!" attitude of more than a few."
- Yes, that was clear. I submit that it might also apply to unnecessarily caustic remarks, things like Project Unwelcome, and--well--other shit you do. Again, it's not a big deal.
- Did you read the part in the post directly above where I said I was aware of and respect the work you do? If you need to get the last word in, fine, go to it. --Bulgakov 16:14, 20 June 2006 (BST)

I Get The Picture
As the title says.. I get the picture, though I must ask.. What actual difference does it make, me adding and deleting different parts of my user page. Wether I continually use 'show preview' to make adjustments or wether I just change bits here and there. Already this is seeming to be a pretty damn retarded question, I would like an answer. --Chopper 19:26, 15 June 2006 (BST) The 'help' was appreciated too...
- I think I can jump in here, because Xoid and I will have the same answer, I'm sure: basically, every time you edit a page, the wiki software saves a new version. Although the amount of data saved in each version is minimal (basically, the changes from one version to the next), each one eats up a little bit of disk space. Furthermore, each time you save a page, it's reflected in Special:Recentchanges. Lots of edits basically spams that page. The preview button is your friend. –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 20:27, 15 June 2006 (BST)
- Hullo Xoid. Yes, these entries best explain why using "show preview" is prefered. Seen & understood. I'm new to this Wiki lark- your patience is appreciated. Cheers, Surefoot 23.19 17 June (GMT)
- I hear that loud and clear, thanks Bob. I could see the actual question becoming more and more retarded as I typed it out, but every little bit of information helps. So now I know my errors and will bare all in mind next time I make any edits on any pages. As Surefoot said himself, your patience is appreciated. ^.^--Chopper 05:34, 18 June 2006 (BST)
Fire Stations and Police Departments
Well, frankly I think someone went way overboard with the location guidelines. :P I don't see any reason why every location would need to be complete with maps and all that other stuff. Not every location is Dunell Hills Police Department.
That being said, if you want to make an example page for a FS or PD that follows the guidelines, I'll look it over and see what we can work out. If we can get something together that works four our basic needs, at least mostly complies with the guidelines and can be easily summarized and simple for new officers to apply, I'm more than willing to update the recommendations. --Gilant talk|DEM 18:14, 15 June 2006 (BST)

Unknown rule
Hello, im some newbie on the wiki, i respect your work and saw your comments plenty of times. I wuoldn't be here bothering you but i was "commanded" to do so; so, whatever...
I was voting on the suggestion page when i went across a Vomit suggestion. The author, Teksura, was being scolded by A Bothan Spy for replying every kill vote. I asked him (Cyberbob240) on the suggestions talk page where is that rule written, because of the fact that he treathened Teksura to report him if he keeps Re'ing kill votes. He commanded me to ask you for said rule location.
- Ah... I didn't "command" you. It was a suggestion, because I didn't know where it could be found. Also, you're an idiot. This isn't a moderator-only privilege. Therefore it doesn't fall under the Misconduct sphere of influence. In any case, threats aren't punishable by anything. Also, if I were to report him it wouldn't be vandalism unless it could be proved that I was just stirring up trouble. Your statement is wrong on so many levels... --A Bothan Spy Mod WTF U! 10:55, 7 June 2006 (BST)

Suggestions editing
I've been doing quite a bit of housekeeping on the suggestions page (striking out invalid or double votes, moving extended discussions to suggestions, removing spaminated things, etc.), and then I ran across this in the rules: Only moderators may remove troll-based votes and they do so with a strikeout <s></s> in order to preserve the trolling removal for posterity. The voter may contest the strikeout with the moderator that struck their vote out on the discussion page. Only a moderator may remove a strikeout. No one has complained (yet), but am I not allowed to keep watch over that page and keep things orderly? –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 08:44, 4 June 2006 (BST)
- This rule would probably get enforced a lot more often if there were about 3 or 4 moderators looking over the suggestions page at any one time. The rule seems to be in regards to striking out and removing the striking out of trolling only. Much more likely that this is merely a loophole. If you want to, you can continue to strikeout and remove striking out as long as the vote isn't trolling. You probably want to ask someone else — I can see the technicality, but I openly acknowledge it as a technicality. It still seems against the spirit of the rule to do your duty and actually help. (Which I think is stupid, but, yeah.)–Xoid S•T•FU! 08:52, 4 June 2006 (BST)

/Spam) and leaving a note telling them that they are only allowed one vote, and to change it to something else if they'd prefer the other one kept... okay, or not okay? –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 09:41, 4 June 2006 (BST) - I see no problem with that. I'd be happy to have the community at large attack it now (removing things that no one uses, adding things I've forgotten, explaining what the hell some of it means, whatever), so feel free to change whatever you want. I left it under my user namespace just in case the Wiki Gods yelled down thou shalt not create that page, Bob!, but if you think it should journey to the Help namespace, have at it. Just make sure the page redirects, so that the other half-dozen people I asked to look at it don't think I'm a moron. ;-) --Bob Hammero T•W!•U! 06:47, 28 May 2006 (BST)

Hey. Thanks for the er.. Informing message left on my page. I read it over serveal times to let it sink in, as I'm baked at the moment. I've taken all points into consideration and will bear all in mind next time I post on anybodies Wiki. And in comparisson to our agreement on the French, you didn't sound arrogant at all. It was a lesson learnt, so thanks for teaching it… Sorry to have left the message in this specific section by the way… In a rush and the title of this section seemed appropriate to leave this message in. So yet again, apologies for inconveniences and frustrations. --Chopper 16:36, 26 May 2006 (BST)
User page
Although it pains me to do this (because this person is using my new template), I just stumbled across Flogging Molly, which is obviously a misplaced user page. The problem is, its content hasn't been moved to User:Flogging Molly (are we supposed to do that so that we can then put this stuff up for speedy deletion?), and the only edits are by someone named Anonymous. Thought I'd throw this your way, Mr. Deletion. --Bob Hammero W!•U! 20:47, 25 May 2006 (BST)
- Generally speaking, if they have the exact same user name, move it there and speedy it. If it turns out that you moved it to the wrong place, because… well, an example would be better. So without further ado…
- EXAMPLE:
- User:McSnatherson plays the character Jimbo Bob, not User:Jimbo Bob.
- You don't know that, and move Jimbo Bob to the exactly same named wiki account, User:Jimbo Bob.
- User:Jimbo Bob asks for it to get speedily deleted 'cause he don't want it. It gets nuked.
- User:McSnatherson complains.
- Move it (or copy if need be) to Anon's talk page, give him a

, say why you're giving him the message, placespeedydelete
on the page violating Criterion 9 and you're done.
- This philosophy may sound a little harsh, but it's your responsibility to do all you reasonably can; not to do everything for them. He should've placed the character on his user page; he didn't read the rules, and you attempted to do your best to clean up their mess. If content goes missing or gets deleted because of their having the exact same character-name as another user has wiki-account? Tough. No one has the right to complain in that scenario.
- I hope this advice helps. –Xoid S•T•FU! 16:55, 26 May 2006 (BST)
Major overhaul
I'm trying to take on the Darvall Heights page, which looks like it needs major overhaul (grammar, completeness, proper links, up-to-date information, etc). However, there's something I'm not sure about (aside from the deletion question that I posed on its talk page): a large amount of the content of the page is taken up in the "Groups" section, which seems very haphazard and POV. Any ideas about the best way to clean up this section? I'm going to alphabetize it and fix a couple of bad links, but I'm wondering if the POV descriptions belong there at all. Thanks. --Bob Hammero ASS•W!•U! 21:09, 23 May 2006 (BST)
- I'd say that unless the groups happen to be particularly influential, that there is no reason for a blurb of any sort there, and even then, only an NPOV, short blurb saying how active the group is. You may wish to ask others though, perhaps if enough people share our opinion, the crap can be excised. –Xoid S•T•FU! 01:25, 24 May 2006 (BST)
- Alright, no one seems to care much about this page, so I think I'm going to start taking things out and reorganizing and such. I'd like to see the Darvall Heights page be the Best Suburb Page In All Of Malton, and that necessitates removing chaff. How much temporary control can I take over the page? (Moving stuff to subpages, deleting crap, etc). I know it's a wiki, but I don't want people to flip out because "omfg the news is archived" or something. --Bob Hammero T•W!•U! 19:05, 26 May 2006 (BST)
- Hm… not sure as to how much temporary control you can claim. For that part, you probably want to ask someone else. If I had to take a punt… if someone complains, reverts the page or inserts their crap again, you'll have to deal with them. If they proove unreasonable, take it to Vandal Banning or Arbitration.
- I'm thinking of whipping up a template saying "This page is undergoing a major overhaul. Please refrain from editing it, yada yada…". Ah, stuff that, I will whip up that template. –Xoid S•T•FU! 02:27, 27 May 2006 (BST)

General Edit Question
Hey. Obviously, I'm shit at Wiki Editing, but wanted to start producing templates and the such. Because I just don't have the time, is there anyway I can start creating pages but not publish them as "works in progress?". I don't want embarrassing, half finished efforts on my page. I've read through the wiki but I cannae find nuthin'. Or I just didn't see it. Thanks for the help Don D Crummitt 06:57, 20 May 2006 (BST)
- To produce templates, you'll need a bit of minor knowledge about programming. (Very minor, templates are simple.) Knowledge of HTML and the way it works is very helpful, 'cause wikimarkup is nothing but shorthand for HTML. (Just consider every bit of wikimarkup to be "built-in templates".)
- The Help:Templates page is good enough to give you a basic knowledge, but I'll still probably come along and optimise your template when I get around to it. (There are so many templates around here that are poorly coded it ain't funny.) You could always try Wikipedia's guide but it may be a little full on for a complete beginner. Stay away from their "advanced templates" guide, even if you think you can tackle it; a lot of that shit is for MediaWiki 1.6+ and we've only got version 1.5. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:04, 20 May 2006 (BST)

Re: XHTML vs HTML

Apart from generally asking people nicely... no. We can't really enforce XHTML usage, considering how simple it is for most people. There's always the possibility of building a bot that can tweak specific HTML into it's XHTML equivalent, but other than that, there's no real way to enforce an XHTML standard. -- Odd Starter talk • Mod • W! 15:02, 23 April 2006 (BST)

My Signature
To anyone wondering how it works:
- Something you might want to look into using, is a signature like the sort that I've got. You can see here for how I've done it: User:Xoid/sig. I'm assuming that you already are using a raw signature. My "nickname" under preferences is

or~~~~}}
and I can get all the fancy stuff, like a minature talk or such. The best part of it is that if you change your signature, it's retroactively altered. (This can also be a drawback, but I'm looking on the bright side for once.) - I find it kind of ironic that I'm talking about this as if I'm extremely knowledgeable in it... I only figured it out yesterday. –Xoid S•T•FU!
- One question: Do you know if the sig is supposed to work within templates? Like, for example, suggestions template? Or maybe better question would be: Does Mediawiki support nested templates? When tested with User:Brizth/sig it breaks the template. --Brizth W!M 16:14, 20 April 2006 (BST)

About this page, and this page… (The links will probably be dead by the time you read this.)
It might help to look at the wiki's namspace policy and the speedy deletion eligability criteria so that you don't make similiar mistakes again. –Xoid S•T•FU! 09:54, 13 May 2006 (BST) Next message may be found here. |
Firstly, thank you for moving my character stuff to it's correct place, a mistake on my part which couldn't have caused much problem as it only went on last night/ early in the morning.
Secondly- who the hell made you a moderator? Your rude and abusive behaviour on your own pages toward people who are just as entitled to play the game as you are is unacceptable. The random abuse that you throw at new users is very unwelcoming and shows you up to be a bit of a superior asshole. Some of us have lives and therefor aren't that clued up on how to do these things, simply because our lives are full of more important things than how to work a wiki. A simple notification of the error is fine, and i have now deleted the page in question.
I've only been on the net for about a month and a half or so, is that something i have to apologise for? Well i'm not going to. Incidentally, it's ok for spammers to post up shit about 5th november on peoples group pages that you cant seem to get rid of? But woe betide if you put something in the wrong place!?! Get a life you anally retentive tosser. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dog Deever (talk • contribs) the dip shit did sign eventually, but didn't add a timestamp.
- Why don't you shut the fuck up. I'm not here to fucking babysit morons like yourself who fail to read the fucking manual.
- "…just as entitled to play the game as you are…" — fuck off. Read up on the guidelines for user pages — I can and will write whatever the fuck I like on my user page. And I don't care what you do in game, on the wiki is different. You abide by the rules, and you don't pick fights.
- "…Some of us have lives and therefor [sic] aren't that clued up on how to do these things, simply because our lives are full of more important things than how to work a wiki." — again, fuck off. It's not hard to read the help pages that are linked to on the front page. It's not hard to read up on the guidelines before you do something stupid. And about "Some of us have lives…" — yeah, I do have a life. And therefore I've got better things to do than babysit some dipshit like yourself.
- "…very unwelcoming and shows you up to be a bit of a superior asshole." Check the U! in my profile dumbcunt, I'm not here to make you happy. And yes, I am superior, because I have the neurons required to know that reading the fucking policies that the wiki has is a good idea.
- "i [sic] have now deleted the page in question." — you haven't you inbred little fuck. Users can't delete jack shit. Only moderators can.
- "I've only been on the net for about a month and a half or so, is that something i have to apologise for?" — Yes, it is. I've been here for less than a month, and the only things I've had problems with so far has been fuckwits such as yourself, and a spurious vandal reporting from a lying sack of shit who used multiple wiki accounts to get around the rules. You on the other hand, have not bothered to read the documentation, have not bothered asking more experienced users for help, and have not bothered to note that I don't give a fucking shit about your feelings. For the fifth time; I'm not here to babysit you, and it's your responsibility to learn what you should and should not do. Why should other people have to clean up after your mess?
- I gave you a nice, formally worded message, using the template the head moderator created to tell you that you were comitting a no-no. So you start flaming me about your own incompetence and unrelated issues.
- About the 5th of November; that dumb imbecile was the one spamming, and I can't do jack shit about it if the moderators are all offline, and don't give him his official warning. By the time they were online, he had already finished his spamming, so the warning after the fact did little. And if you read the archive, you do know how to read, right dumbfuck?, I was less than pleasant to him. The berating you are getting now is down right pleasant in comparision. If you want flaming, you stupid cunt, you've just gotten it. –Xoid S•T•FU! 11:09, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- I did not complain about the message you sent, you fucking computer nerd. It was the abuse you deal out to people. In reality it would have taken a lot less of your precious time if you hadn't typed the abuse you sack of arsegravy. You seem to think everyone but yourself is retarded, maybe it's an inferiority complex that you have, you braindead arsehole. If you spent less time hurling abuse at people maybe folks would actually give a shit about anything you say, you cock. Flaming? Oh i'm terrified. This is the problem with online games- when you really want to push some spotty wet behind the ears little cunts face through the back of their head, they aren't there. More's the pity. If it is alright for you to pick fights and abuse people, then it's alright for people to do it to you. So, FUCK OFF. You really are a total wanker. And i didn't sign because i didn't even know you could/ had to. That means i'm just learning, not that i'm stupid, you faggot. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dog Deever (talk • contribs) again, no timestamp.

- A minor observation, Xoid: I find it interesting that you get pissed at me for being annoyed at editing my page; now someone else is, for editing their user page. Doesn't that tell you something? --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 11:44, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- PS: I also find it interesting that you got pissed at me for being "unwelcoming", and told me to go join Project Unwelcome, as I'd fit in perfectly. Now I find you are part of Project Unwelcome... forgot that minor detail, did you? --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 11:46, 13 May 2006 (BST)

- Again, shut the fuck up you moronic cunt. If pissants such as yourself were not so heavily inbred, there wouldn't be any problems on the wiki.
- "I did not complain about the message you sent, you fucking computer nerd." — Excellent insult, no really, you've just outdone yourself, I'd give you a medal if I could. You do know that programmers can easily earn upwards of $50,000 USD/year, and often make six figure sums, right? And that good systems analyst can pretty much name their price, right? I take fucking pride in my knowledge because I know damn well that I earn more money than some dumbshit stuck in an office, and can keep earning it well into my latter years, making the same amount of money as sports stars can over a slightly extended period of time, without ending up getting all manner of physical disabilities that [sport stars] inevitably end up getting.
And why bother picking a fight where it does not concern you, anyway. Since your life, and I quote "…[is] full of more important things than how to work a wiki.…", so you consider this flamefest important enough to warrant your time. You're a sad, pathetic little man. - "…You seem to think everyone but yourself is retarded…" — way to proove me wrong, numbnuts. Your opening insult already prooved that. Your inability to spell, and your inability to use correct grammar only adds to the impression that you are the stereotypical dumbfuck who only learnt how to use a computer because they'd have been fired if they stayed in the stone ages any longer.
- "If it is alright for you to pick fights and abuse people, then it's alright for people to do it to you. — I never said it wasn't. I said that complaining about my doing so, and calling it unacceptable continue to illustrate your lack of intellect.
- "This is the problem with online games- when you really want to push some spotty wet behind the ears little cunts [sic] face through the back of their head, they aren't there. More's the pity." — It is, y'know, because if you were here, I would already have cut your throat. And no, I'm not threatening you, I'm merely lamenting the fact that you lack the brainpower to use the many easily available tools that you could use make your way to my house, so I could punt you out the window. But don't worry, there's no need to be "…terrified…" — it ain't worth moving even a millimetre to give you the comeuppance you richly deserve.
- Take your idiocy and excuses for your blatant incompetence elsewhere, 'cause while I am listening, I don't really care. While I would prefer to see you dead, that's merely so you wouldn't reproduce. Regards, Xoid. Talk U! 12:32, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- Oh, you just altered the text for a fortieth time. How positively sweet of you to question my sexuality! Or did you just think that I'm part of The Faggots? I'm not part of either group. Using faggot as an insult. Jeeze, that really prooves you are the intelligent one here, doesn't it. Are you on Project UnWelcome yet? You'd be a great asset, I'm sure. –Xoid S•T•FU! 12:32, 13 May 2006 (BST)

- In regards to Project UnWelcome, I never said I wasn't a part of it. It's not like I haven't been "signed" up since the start, I founded the bloody thing after all, and even a cursory inspection could've revealed that fact. I merely said you'd feel right at home. It was a lowblow trying to illustrate the irony factor of you, a Project Welcome member, not living up to the ideals you supposedly hold onto.
- In regards to the user page alteration, no, he actually thanked me on that. I'm getting the impression that he merely takes umbrage with my "It's not my job to babysit you" approach. It ain't my job to baby sit the retards around here. Never has been, never will be.–Xoid S•T•FU! 12:32, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- HA!HA!HA! I really couldn't give a rats ass about your mildly irritating rant anymore, in short- you are not fit to be a moderator on any site, your people skills are seriously lacking (too much computing leads to these types of social stunting- get out more). I doubt an obvious twat such as yourself would be able to punch their way out of a wet paper bag. I visited Cyberbob's discussion page to thank him for his support- and his page was of far more assisstance than any of the shit you talk. I know it isn't anyone's job to babysit anyone else, but a simple couple of lines instead of a morning of insults would suffice. No, i'm not very good at this, that shouldn't stop me from being allowed to use the damned thing. I will learn and improve as i find things out. You, however will always be an utter shite-hawk. And you did tell me not t pick fights- check if you like. Fuck you. -Dog Deever 12:57, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- The feeling is mutual. And for the fourty-first time, I'm no moderator. I never have been, and I don't want to be.
- "…simple couple of lines instead of a morning of insults would suffice." — You got a simple couple of lines, and instead started an argument.
- "…your people skills are seriously lacking (too much computing leads to these types of social stunting- get out more)." — No shit, Sherlock, people on the Autistic spectrum never have, nor ever will be able to fit into a world populated by numbnuts such as yourself. And why the hell should I change to suit you? It's neither my responsibility to babysit you, nor conform to your standards.
- "…his page was of far more assisstance than any of the shit you talk." — No shit, Sherlock. I already said fifty billion times that I don't want to waste time babysitting you. Which is why you got a pair of links and a brief message.
- "And you did tell me not t pick fights- check if you like." — My mistake. When trying to condense the policy down into a few sentences, I couldn't be bothered any more and seemingly did not remove all of what I was writing.
- "I will learn and improve as i find things out. You, however will always be an utter shite-hawk." — I can't really argue with that. When people "find things out", learning and improving is implied by default. Ain't semantics a bitch? As to the implication that I will always be an utter "shite-hawk", if you replaced that with arsehole I wouldn't have a problem. "Shite-hawk" simply doesn't roll off the tongue.
- As to the earlier implication that I couldn't punch my way out of paper bag, you again do yourself the disservice of making an assumption, not every nerd is physically weak. When you kept getting picked on because of small minded fucks who can't accept that you do not have an obligation to conform you eventually learn how to fight. And when need be, I still can. As for you, I will not make any assumptions in regards to your capabilities in that regard. –Xoid S•T•FU! 13:25, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- The feeling is mutual. And for the fourty-first time, I'm no moderator. I never have been, and I don't want to be.
- Next message may be foune here.
- I am from Scotland, and it rolls off my tongue fine. Incidentally- i also forgot to say thanks for centering my picture, and fixing the bullets i fucked up. And I mean that sincerely.
- Note, however, that you also made a mistake, by your own admission, about telling me not to pick a fight. There is also no such number as 'fourty-first', but i apologize for pointing this out if you are 'numerically challenged'. And it was also you who began a tirade of personal abuse, you just got back what you richly deserved- long may it continue. Your ability to exaggerate loses it's comedy value because you exaggrate about seventy trillion times too much. Language can be used in many ways, 'learn' implies being taught by assisstance from others. 'Find things out' implies trial and error. I don't need to be told how to talk by a socially retarded bawbag such as yer good self. And i already said that i have no complaint about the notification, it is the abuse you hurl at people who make a simple mistake that i take exception to. --Dog Deever 14:24, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- "Arsegike" — Not exactly many Scotsmen on the web, at least not concentrated enough that Scottish terms and phrases are common knowledge for netizens. (Note: As you can probably tell, I'm assuming "Arsegike" is a common term. Knowing my luck, it's probably a term you just invented. Making this point null and void.)
- "…you also made a mistake…" — True enough. I admitted it after all.
- "And it was also you who began a tirade of personal abuse…" — Forgotten already? I've highlighted where you started this. While I did turn the heat up a notch in the flamefest, I was replying in kind. Frankly, if you wanted to take the moral highground here you could have put a concise, clear and formally worded complaint. You would have received no flaming had that been the case. By putting the praise in the praise section, and then adding a complaint, under the criticism section, (something along the lines of; "Acting like an arsehole to other newbies isn't going to get you a medal. Try to restrain any impulses to verbally lash out at them if you can, regardless of how stupid you consider their actions to be." would've worked wonders. I'm not like other people, when I actually get pissed off, I stay that way for hours on end. I can't help it. Considering the fact that being impulsive and "consequences be damned" is a hallmark with plenty of Aspies, I'm downright socially well-adjusted.)
- "Your ability to exaggerate loses it's comedy value because you exaggrate about seventy trillion times too much." — If I didn't have to repeat myself so much… (Check the speedy deletions page. And it's archive, all the way back to April 13th. If you do it, it should give some insight as to why I hate Criterion 9s so much. The sheer number alone is enough to make you want to tear your hair out. I've been wasting time and risking my diploma sorting this wiki out, it's difficult trying to sneak in edits inbetween work, and everything else. Tabbed browsing really helps)
- "Language can be used in many ways…socially retarded bawbag such as yer good self.…" — Was it that obvious that I was grasping for straws on that one?
- "bawbag" — Everything for point one applies here, including the disclaimer.
- "And i already said that i have no complaint about the notification, it is the abuse you hurl at people who make a simple mistake that i take exception to." — I got that from the second message you left. (It, and proof of my acknowledgement are highlighted in pink. sigh… Why can't I remember more of the good websafe colours?) It was Cyberbob240 who wasn't sure of this. (His message indicating confusion is highlighted in cyan.)
- All that being said, this particular international incident is boring me. Does both this message address your concerns, or do I need to break out the sugar. (It's frigging late here. 00:36) –Xoid S•T•FU! 15:36, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- Fair enough. Although I was originally nominated for speedy deletion as Criterion 1 with possible criterion 9. If you don't want abuse and arguments then don't dish out insults like sweeties (candies). The fact that the mistake is being made so many times means it is obviously rather easy to do. All being said, have a nice sleep. PS a bawbag is a scrotal sac! (Just in case you feel like using it yourself!)-Dog Deever 16:23, 13 May 2006 (BST)
- Criterion 9. Criterion 1 is no content with little to no chance of expansion. (I'm assuming there is more you want to add to your profile, eventually. If it was going to remain that way permantently then it would match both. As you can notice, I'm pedantic about terminology. Another trait of Aspies.) I probably won't be using bawbag, I can't think of anyone here who might actually get it. (Most of them are Americans, or miscellaneous non-westerners, as far as I know. I'd think that there are certainly plenty of people from in or around England, simply because that's where the server is located, so if there are other Scotsmen lurking or contributing, they'd get it, but I'm going off on a tangent here 'cause I never shut up and I'll stop… now.)
- Holy crap. I just realised I signed up on my birthday. (Already broken my promise, goddamnitalltohell.) –Xoid S•T•FU! 16:39, 13 May 2006 (BST)
A thing
I've taken a glance at your contribs, and I've noticed you've been a little overbearing to people. Take, for example, me. Your comment on my talk page that you changed my user page and tacked on at the end as an afterthought is "I hope you don't mind". Well, I do. NEVER touch my user page again. If I see you touch someone else's (I don't care who) without prior permission, you're going to get reported as a Vandal. If someone isn't happy with their user page's look, they can change it themselves. They don't need you barging in saying "Ooh, I've noticed...(insert minor fucking detail here) is wrong on your user page. I've taken the liberty of changing it. I hope you don't mind". If you want to help people, make a detailed help page or something. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 10:10, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- Jesus H. Christ. What is wrong with people here? Simple alterations when there happens to be coding error or such get me bitched at. Simple alterations where there happens to be a broken link have gotten other people bitched at. Simeple alterations where people fix a spelling mistake get other people bitched at. I fixed a factual fallacy on your user page. Why can't people around here relax?
- "…make a detailed help page or something." — I have done my best so far to fix up the help documentation around here, but people don't seem to even look at it before going off half-cocked and making glaring mistakes.
- And I strongly resent both the tone, and the content of your message. "…without prior permission…" — It's a litte late for that. I've already copied plenty of content from pages that fall under criterion 9 or 11 to their creators pages, where they belong. Are you going to report me for that too? What about reverting pages. Is that also going to earn your ire?
- What about group pages, where technically even the slightest change is enough to warrant a vandal banning if you have even one prior misunderstanding with someone. And here I was thinking you were being reasonable all of sudden — everything should be judged on it's merits. Arbitrary rules, where there is no leeway are pathetic, they all (eventually) lead to punishment where there was never any malice intended, and strongly discourage proactive people from doing their utmost because of fear of being hit by the letter of the law, rather than the spirit.
- And for what it's worth, right from the start I had it in writing that I took the code from Mia's user page — not yours. Since that text has been there through every iteration after I raided for the code, I can't see any way you can say anything more than "sorry I just glanced at your page, not reading any part of it, and merely beacuse it looked like it used the same format (that another user already had), that it must have been my page he took the code from."
- But since you are seeming to take the hardline "By the book, and who cares about the people these rules affect." approach to things, I don't think that is going to appease you. Perhaps you can't tell, but I'm very disappointed at your over-reaction, c'mon Cyberbob240, you're bigger than this. –Xoid S•T•FU! 11:29, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- You kind of missed the point of my rant. I don't mind you copying code, it's editing code that pisses me off. Even that is OK, as long as you ask first. And "by the book, and who cares about the people involved" doesn't really apply. If you are personally offended by a simple spelling mistake or factual error, I can't help you (not many people could). What I can do is tell you that people don't like someone else just editing their pages without warning/prior requests for permission. OK? (PS: It takes "bigness" to start an argument. "Small" people would just let it slide. I don't.) --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 12:35, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- That is just it, I didn't miss the point of your rant. I considered your rant both acerbic and asinine. "If I see you touch someone else's [talk page] (I don't care who [sic]) without prior permission, you're going to get reported as a Vandal." — that statement both clearly leaves no leeway for what is standard operating proceedure around here in regards to criterion 9s, or fixing someone's code. If someone mistyped a character, e.g.
Playerkillet
for a template called "Playerkiller", and I fixed it, that statement indicates you would report me for vandalism. Whether you would or not, the rigid wording you used is absurd. Which is exactly what I was trying to illustrate with the various examples I used. Nothing is ever black or white. And an abitrary demand like that thoroughly disgusts me.
- That is just it, I didn't miss the point of your rant. I considered your rant both acerbic and asinine. - Your inflammatory remarks about the help pages offend me. Really offends me. And don't say they were not inflammatory, they were. As I speak I've got the pages for tables open, where I've edited nearly 3/5ths of the goddamned thing to make it correct.
- I don't see what the big deal is with minor corrections. Like the two that I did to Wifey's page.
NoWiki
got deleted and she had a reference to it in there, so I removed it. The dead red link pointed towards fireman. To get it to link properly it should've been firefighter. Am I supposed to be reported for vandalism for those edits?
- I don't see what the big deal is with minor corrections. Like the two that I did to Wifey's page.
- And no it doesn't take "bigness" to start an argument. It takes pettiness — I should know — I've started enough of them myself. It takes "bigness" to stick up for what's right, and I don't see how limiting me from cleanning this dump up (through your demand) is criminal. You could easily have used two sentences, the first being what I've already quoted and the second being something along the lines of "The only exception is with criterion 9s, [insert another legitimate reason here], or [insert another legitimate reason here].", yet you didn't.
- Did I tack on "I hope you don't mind." as an afterthought? Of course. I really didn't think such a fucking minor, unimportant thing as a disclaimer would be important enough to warrant your fury simply because you feel like getting pissed off over me not asking you. Do you want me to ask your permission the next time I notice something so very minor (that only someone with hawk eyes woud notice) but still makes you look like an idiot?
- And don't think I'm insulting you here&hellip note the text I've highlighted this time round? Read it. Because "I don't mind you copying code…" indicates that you haven't. Try checking the diff that I linked too — it is the first time I had a user page in the same fashion as yours, but it explicitly states that I didn't copy your code. I copied Mia's code and mutilated it. Your disclaimer that I copied your code and then mutilated it were blatantly false. How many times does it need to be written on my user page, your talk page, and now on my talk page for you to realise that?
- I think I've finished addressing every issue I had with your criticism. Criticism where criticism is due Cyberbob240, is that I didn't ask first. Criticism where criticism is due Cyberbob240, is that I shouldn't have to had. Criticism where criticism is due Cyberbob240 is that you decided that just because I didn't ask you, despite it obviously being a good faith edit that I'm vandalising your page. It's obvious that there is no damage done to your reputation, to your formatting or anything else on your page except for a minor "factoid" that was both incorrect and obviously so. I was not offended by the little blurb at the bottom in any way, shape or form, I was just correcting a minor fucking error, and you decide to make a mountain out of a molehill. The fucking help pages? Should I go and make one where the subject is "Don't even think of correcting someone's user page, because almost no body around here thankful that you've done them a favour".
- Again, you totally missed what I said. I don't care if you fix a template or something on community pages; it's only user pages that annoy me. They are there for users to do whatever they want with them; if you see something wrong, tell them about it, or ask them for permission to change it if they don't know how to. Don't barge in and do it yourself. That's just asking for trouble. OK? That's pretty much all I was ever trying to say. I guess I let my (fairly immense) irritation get in the way of clarity. Sorry for pissing you off as much as I obviously did. I'll back away now... --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 13:45, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- For the third time, I did get your point.
- I was talking about user pages… hell I was talking about Wifey's user page. Check the history on it, then report me. I edited it despite the fact I had not gotten prior permission. And I got thanked for it, because some people don't care that you are violating a stupid little rule that you are clearly interpreting to the letter of the law, and not it's spirit — check the praise section for proof.
- <rant style="offtopic">
(Which is which has become heavily overshadowed because instead of people taking note of any good things I do, they harp on and never shut up about my character flaws, or shit that is clearly their responsibility (Revivification Points — Any competent programmer could have made code that accounted for the alterations I made — only a truly negligent programmer would ignore the fact that attributes and style sheets may eventually be incorporated into a table. If my edits to the table broke anything, it is because his code was entirely too unflexible.), or because they are a lying sack of shit who uses alternate wiki accounts to do their "dirty work", got caught, and ignored the golden opportunity they had to set the facts straight. (See Rip purr.) - I'm sorry, have I gone off on a tangent here? It might have something to do with the fact that I am extremely pissed with the environment here in general. As far as I can tell, everyone here has a lack of perspective, with few exceptions. Trying to get anything done here is like pulling teeth, you've got to sign everything, everything has to be decided upon beforehand, etc. Is it any fucking wonder that so much of the wiki is incomplete?

- Back on topic: When you copy crap from the main namespace into a user's page, that is violating your little demand. Here, I'll state it again, for the fourth time; "If I see you touch someone else's [talk page] (I don't care who [sic]) without prior permission, you're going to get reported as a Vandal." There is no way to fulfill your demand if the person already has a user page, but for some reason has characters in the main namespace, and I want to get 'em ready for speedy deletion. Which is why I objected so strongly to that demand. (I know that technically it's a statement, but it's close enough to a demand.)
- The point I've tried to raise again, and again, that is continually ignored: why would someone in their right mind bitch about a fucking typo being correct, a justified edit with appropriate clarification or fixing a syntax error. It doesn't do anything but change their user page from what it currently is into what they originally intended.

- It's clear that you are about the process here, and not the result. If no harm is done, why is the user complaining? If it's minor and doesn't alter what they intended their user page to be, then I say they have no right under natural law to bitch about it. Anyone who does is simply making drama because they feel like it. Like I have done previously, like you have done previously and like you are doing now. –Xoid S•T•FU! 14:38, 12 May 2006 (BST)
Sniping
I'd much prefer it if you ease up on the snark. I'd prefer an authorative, but emotionally neutral, message sent to people who make mistakes on the wiki rather than a flame, since most users just need to be told they're doing something wrong to change their behaviour, rather than insults. -- Odd Starter talk • Mod • W! 07:50, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- The sheer number of criterion 9's were beginning to get to me. The worst of those messages where also left during a time when I was under a lot of stress, from RL™ and from pure frustration. But I am trying to shape up in that regard. If you look around hard enough, you might find that with newbies who haven't done criterion 9's, I've generally been friendly. The exception being Codename V/Rip purr, and whom I consider persona non grata. –Xoid S•T•FU! 07:55, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- Still, perhaps keeping a boilerplate text on hand so you can dispense handy advice to Crit9ers regardless of your anger/stress levels might be an idea. - Funny you should mention that. It was something I was planning on doing, 'cause even though I can't help but feel the rage, I still recognise it's there. It's… weird. On a related note, I get the gist of what the term "sniping" means from having seen it used before, but I'm unsure as to it's exact meaning. –Xoid S•T•FU! 08:14, 12 May 2006 (BST)

- Having visited your page I now understand that you have toned yourself down a lot in the message you so kindly left me, and thank you for the warning regarding an potential infringement I was about to make. However you tone still needs looking at, it's in no way emotionally netural and comes across all jack boots and anger. I am a newb, n00b or whatever and to some extent proud of it, I will make mistakes and friendly pointers are always welcome. I also understand that you probably see a lot of 'criterion 9's' (had to look that up as it means nothing to outsiders) and don't feel you want to be nice all the time, but a friendly mention of how and why the infringement of the rules effect people would probably have a much better result. For a good example see the comment by Celt Mac Éireann which is friendly and informative. You however, start by raising your voice (using bold), then make a threat and finish up with an order, ummm nice. Net result probably the same I will post on the Revive board and I won't put any more users (characters actually in this case) in the main namespace, but had you tried the former there'd be one less person in the world who thinks you are a c**k! -- FallenAngel 10:02, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- Calling me a cock isn't likely to endear you to me either. I was merely using formal language to inform you that there could be repercussions if you recreated the page. It wasn't a "threat". If someone recreated the same page that just got speedily deleted, it gets speedily deleted again, they recreate it again, etc, they will eventually get banned.
- The bit about removing the links on your page, yes it did come out as snide, but I couldn't think of any better way to word it. In hindsight I probably should have left a disclaimer saying that, but now that you've already been offended, there is not much more I can do than say sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't think of a better way to say it, alright?
- One thing that irks me though is that you make it sound like a bad thing that you had to look anything up. While I really should've provided a link to the speedy deletion criteria, and other relevant things, it's not like they are heavily linked left, right and centre and are on the main page. It really isn't that hard to find the rules and had you have read them, neither my time or yours would've been wasted. –Xoid S•T•FU! 11:50, 12 May 2006 (BST)

The Corleone Family
Vito the don spits at you for deleted his wiki page, we declare war on you if you do not replace it. Death shall come swiftly to those who wait. (Change it please… The Don Corleone.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Emankillsu (talk • contribs) 00:53, 22 April 2006 (BST).
- A few things first…
- Don't talk IC on a talk page when discussing general maintenance. It's confusing.
- –or– (If you actually were threatening me. I somehow doubt it…)
- Don't threaten me.
- I've reformatted your message because it was an utter mess.
- Don't talk IC on a talk page when discussing general maintenance. It's confusing.
- The main namespace is for information about Urban Dead itself, groups that are in it, and historical elements. Pretty much every thing else fluffy is gonna get either deleted or moved.
- The reason your page's contents were moved, then the original page deleted, was because of the rules concerning placing user pages or pages about characters in the main namespace. "Do not create pages about your character(s) in the main namespace". This also goes for redirects. Because the page was created by bob8914, and he had claims on his page about being "Vito the Don", I moved the content there and listed the pages on Speedy Deletions, as per policy.
- Before you complain, take this into account: "What if… every user created pages for their characters in the main namespace?" — it would quickly become clogged, like it already is, and become damn near impossible to organise or catch vandals. –Xoid S•T•FU!
If every user made pages for their cahracteristics, the world would be a safer place. Also I see you managed to find time to list everything about your characters on your page, what are you? A hypocrite? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by emankillsu (talk • contribs) .
- Sign your posts. Just add ~~~~ at the end of your text.
- Xoid has his characters on his user page. Anything can go on your userpage as long as it doesn't violate policy. --SirensT RR 15:56, 22 April 2006 (BST)

- That, I don't know. I was merely stating the above. What, exactly, happened with your characters? --SirensT RR 16:05, 22 April 2006 (BST)
- I moved his character from the main namespace to his user page. The main namespace is for groups, Urban Dead itself, etc. The Journal namespace and the User namespace are where you should whack character's profiles and life stories. For a particularly small group, even including their profiles on their group's page would probably be alright. (I'm mainly thinking of huge groups here, like the RRF, where it would be utterly insane to include every profile, although were just plain large groups like the MotA, I'd probably view that as stupid, and counterintuitive practice.)
- The other character, Emankillsu is currently listed for Speedy Deletion under criterion 9. –Xoid S•T•FU! 16:31, 22 April 2006
- What did I do that broke a policy rule? Oh and my character of b0b8914 in UD is Vito the Don. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by emankillsu (talk • contribs) .

- A little late. Emankillsu was moved to User:Emankillsu. Moving a page makes the original location a redirect to it's new location. The redirect was deleted because of criterion 9, but he can find what was originally on Emankillsu at User:Emankillsu.
- If you notice your group's page, The Corleone Family, I improved things considerably. You are free to edit it to however you want, of course, but I sure you'll agree that it does look better than before I tinkered with it. If the reason your page was less than average was because you lack knowledge of wikimarkup, you can find excellent resources for it here and here.
- If the reason the page was messy was due to sheer laziness, then believe me, I understand. However, people are far more likely to ignore a page that looks sloppy than to read it, let alone join the group who made it. Something to think on. –Xoid S•T•FU!

PKer Alliance
Those couple little words got my attention. I've talked with BiII about PKer portal, that would gather most PKer events and groups on one place, and least be a start for a somekind of alliance. Sadly it never got anywhere. So I was wondering if you could help this matter. That whole thing would least need some catchy name and place to talk. Also it wouldn't hurt to get some groups to go with it at start. I'm ready to go with it and so are few others. Sooo... What I'm asking is, could it be done? (Yeah, I forgot the sig.. Thanks.) --Niilomaan 19:42, 26 July 2006 (BST)
- No idea if it would actually work out. I reckon we could call the event "PKaiger". We are seriously going to need a UDTool list for this, as anything else wouldn't work. There is already a group, but I can't remember the name of it, it was something like that. I'd participate in this simply because I'm fucking tired of the trenchies in Caiger. I know plenty of other people who are too. –Xoid S•T•FU! 02:57, 27 July 2006 (BST)
- I think you should ask Bobs. Or one could just jump here and say his opinion. I know you're reading it guys... There are so many PKer groups that think alike, that if you just put those all together with a single goal, then it could be done. To just unite without any reason? No. To unite so we could bring down Caiger? Hell yeah! (But we would need a wiki page for it.) --Niilomaan 08:04, 27 July 2006 (BST)

- Think about those days of glory that would follow.. No stupid zergers or trenchcoaters.. Each new noob on the area would get their personal greeting from Project UnWelcome given to them from shotgun barrel. Think about it. Only thing needed is a place and somekind of a leader, board or council. It could start with just a few groups with a single mission, and then grow beyond any normal union. Also ASS would have a real role in this to tell who is worthy and who is dead. I'd follow you, and even bring some friends with you. --Niilomaan 13:32, 27 July 2006 (BST)

Glad You Can Take A Joke
I'm glad you can take a joke Xoid. And yes, it was stupid of me to put up a template on a regular page, I was new to the Wiki, and didn't realize it had to have a separate page. Thus, when one of the Bobs tried to delete it, I thought he was just being an idiot, so I responded in kind. Unfortunately, your templates are appropriately placed, and after I submitted them for deletion, I realized what a moron I had been. So, I fixed my template and put it in its own little Template page. I am anti-Assualt on Stupid Survivors, and I myself admit to being stupid sometimes (see above). Vigour Mortis vs. Lurching Gait
Good points... effectively making A.G. a first-tier skill is an advantage I hadn't considered.
I've played around with a few zombie alts but the game is so painful for young unaffiliated zombies that eventually I think I'll just switch over my survivor main (with a lot of banked xp, naturally) if I want to experience that half of the game. Survivors really do have it much easier in UD... Rheingold 10:09, 5 July 2006 (BST)

Checking another rule
Okay. According to the arbitration case I am not supposed to interact with the fifth horseman on this wiki. But i was about to post on a user page, and I noticed he was also in the conversation. Would i be allowed to post on the page? DarkStar2374383 Talk | LDY | LOE 11:40, 30 June 2006 (BST)
- Certainly. As long as you are not interacting with him directly, (i.e. don't talk to The Fifth Horseman himself, as opposed to the owner of the page.), then you should be okay. Bear in mind that if either of you goads the other with disparaging remarks, that I would consider that to be directly interacting. (Which will fall under the arbitration ruling.)
- In other words? As long as you both behave, and ignore each other's existence, there is no chance of the ruling being broken. –Xoid S•T•FU! 11:46, 30 June 2006 (BST)

- You've even got support from Delta Flyer. I'm waiting for Amazing to show up with an alt, apologise for every real and perceived wrong doing on his part, and then vouch for you. That'd be about the only thing more surprising. (What can I say, Delta's support for you left me stunned.) –Xoid S•T•FU! 08:28, 30 June 2006 (BST)
- Ha! Oh man, that would be even better than if PQN and 3page got together to do a double-vouch or something. Anyway, yeah, it's a little surprising about Delta, but not terribly if you know the history. A while back, Jimbo had listed Delta as a "zerger." Delta wrote us a very nice email asking if we would please just not refer to him in that way, and I decided to change the wording to be less condemning (even though I agreed with Jimbo's assessment). Jimbo and Delta started arguing on the talk page, and I ended up stepping in and trying to keep the talk page from erupting into a flame war. When I later ran for mod and started getting negative results, I asked Delta if he would be willing to vote on my bid either way, and he vouched for me then. I thought he might want to vote this time around too, so I let him know I was running, and he vouched for me again. Surprising, but true. (But hey, ever since Wikigate, I've kept the game separate from the wiki, so why not, right?) –Bob Hammero Mod•B'crat•T•A 08:57, 30 June 2006 (BST)

When you make statements like that, links, quotes and such would be handy if possible. If you don't want to post it on the wiki PM me with it. Otherwise I have no choice but to ignore the statement until it hits my desk officially, as without more information I can't make an reasonable evaluation on it.
I will say though, that while I don't think having a PKer character is grounds by itself for dismissal, it certainly wont win you any supporters in the DEM's officer ranks. While we have a large number of members with zombie alts (including in the RRF and such), most of us see PKing (in the just shooting random players sense, regardless of excuses) as annoying and a form of play that greatly detracts from the reason most of us joined UD: fighting the zombie horde or eating tasty harman brains. --Gilant talk|DEM 19:31, 15 June 2006 (BST)
- "or have a sensible profile" - But you get to pick what you think is a sensible profile?! Sorry, that is just arrogant, and a very thin excuse, as are most of your others. It's one thing to want to play a PKer character, who has some real RP motivation, as much as I dislike PKing in general. But to come up with reasons that are obviously just justifications for you to kill other players, with a character you got bored with, is just lame. --Gilant talk|DEM 03:16, 16 June 2006 (BST)

Thanks for the heads up, but right now the plan is to spread the word! We've always been successful because of our visibility and operations in RRF territory shouldn't be too different. Of course, telling them where we are isn't a very good idea, but talking in generalities shouldn't tip the scales too much and it's not really something we can avoid. Anyway, the RRF probably knows we're there by now and I do want them to show up! What's a party without zombies?! --Ron Burgundy 21:10, 14 June 2006 (BST)

First, we assign two points for each kill of an ASS member, and members can tack on bonus points pretty much at their own discretion. He hasn't killed us 17 times, or even half that. Second, and more importantly, the more relevant comparison is between CDF kills of us and our kills on the CDF, as we're not (at the moment) engaging in any coordinated effort to hunt down specific players. Sort of. I really didn't like that one very much. And if you read the text on the template I put together I do credit it as an inspiration, so I was obviously aware of it in advance. :P I wanted something that would render more compactly, used more standard colors (in this case using standard map of Malton colors for resource buildings and the generally accepted yellow for EHB designated buildings) and provided hover text for longer descriptions as well as compact text (intended usage) for notes or links. --Gilant talk|DEM 17:11, 5 June 2006 (BST)

Also keep in mind that I have a CGI for generating the suburb maps, so any changes to or that effect the usage end should be discussed first. --Gilant talk|DEM 17:30, 5 June 2006 (BST)

I think we may have driven Mattiator off for good with that 24-hour ban. Which is a shame, because I enjoyed his antics. --A Bothan Spy Mod WTF U! 10:47, 4 June 2006 (BST)

Kyoto Protocal: total BS -Karlsbad 14:27, 1 June 2006 (BST)
- Karlsbad, if you had of read the description, this section is for serious shit. Not quibbling over this.
- To counter your claim that it's total BS: Of course a bunch of trees won't change jack shit on their own. The only real way to clean up the air is to stop filling it with shit, and make sure there is enough economy of scale with tree plantations to deal with it. That is going to take more than the Kyoto Protocol, but that doesn't mean that the Kyoto Protocol is "total BS", it means that it doesn't take things far enough. –Xoid S•T•FU! 14:34, 1 June 2006 (BST)
- Yet considering that China is using this loop-hole to manufacture Carbon Credits (when the actions actually HARM the enviornment considering that the growth period of a harvested tree is 15 years yet the Carbon Deficit period of a tree is 10) so as to pollute their enviornment even more, you realise that you can't ignore one gaping flaw in a law simply because it was made with good intentions. --Karlsbad 14:37, 1 June 2006 (BST)
- (I'm gonna be facetious here.) It's still all America's fault, if your insane sue-anything-that-moves lawyers had of drafted the protocol, we wouldn't be in this situation. </Yahoo Serious> It's 12:13 in the morning, my eyes feel like they're bleeding, and you expected me to read the whole article? I think Legend X doesn't check other changes when he wants to revert to something, so he probably didn't check to see that Librarian Brent had been fixed to a proper link, and then just reverted to his version because he saw I'd fixed the spelling in "List" thereby killing the brent link. -Banana Bear 17:51, 31 May 2006 (BST)

- lol glad you found it. I just copy & pasted the section from the original, as I couldn't see what had gone wrong other than removing some spaces. There had been two separate issues. First, the edit you made caused the background color in the title to disapear, which you sorted out before I responded. The other thing I removed was the 'includeonly' as I like having the template be displayed there for people to see. Just a personal thing. Otherwise I really liked your solution a lot and have already applied it to a number of our other templates and pages. Thanks!!! --Gilant talk|DEM 17:35, 26 May 2006 (BST)

Freddie, Dog turds and Deletions
Previous message may be found here.
Well, at least there's humour value in a dog turd — more than can be said for Freddie Mercury. (Although, 'I Want to Break Free' is a bit surreal.) I've posted up a Speedy Deletions request for that image. Just hope i haven't stuffed it up too! I reckon a lot of the 'vandalism' is caused by over enthusiasm, wanting to be involved before you're really equipped. It's so easy to forget stuff, and get things mixed up when you're unfamiliar with it all. Though instant bans should definately be enforced for anyone uploading pictures of Freddie Mercury!! I really don't mind long posts — they can be archived when I get round to figuring that out! Anyway, thanks again, perhaps we'll meet in Malton, but more likely here, pointing out another of my blunders! Dog Deever 19:31, 19 May 2006 (BST)
- The Freddie Mercury picture was for a gag, that the "victim" thereof decided to upload a copy of her avatar so that the gag would make more sense. Now the gag is only mildly obscure, instead of plain obscure. As for archival, it's simple. See the "move tab" next to the "history tab" at the top? Click on move, and it'll come up with a "Where to, Mac? An' why?" screen. If you wanted to archive User talk:Dog Deever simply write "User talk:Dog Deever/Archive"

Would you mind if I altered your support to read as: Anonymous - I'll fight, but it could be hopeless because as George S. Patton said: "Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.". The issue is zombies can't die, but I still have a good feeling about this. |
I wouldn't mind. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Labine50 (talk • contribs) 19:16, 16 May 2006 (BST).

Have you seen his last few edits? Made ANOTHER "talk" page and… well, I'll let you see his vote on my bid for yourself. NOTE: He's basing that off of ONE comment I made to him. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 16:53, 15 May 2006 (BST)
- This is why I HATE n00bs. 'Cause more trouble than they're worth. Big difference between newbs and n00bs. At least the newb blood is willing to learn. Retards… don't. Maybe they've been dropped on their head as a baby, I don't know. But my "Xenophobia" is more than understandable.
- PS: Ego? Really. I may be egotistical, but we are talking flame warrior definitions here, and that one doesn't match me. –Xoid S•T•FU! 16:56, 15 May 2006 (BST)

- So Karl, I take it you're in on this too, despite your personal mission statement. Meh. Xoid, I have refrained from insulting you. I only told you to get lost. I guess you've taking as a personal insult because I've hurt your boy friend's feelings. I'm sorry. I hope you're nicely tucked up in bed now though, snuggling your sausage between Cyberbob's cosy little arse cheeks. Prick. Don D Crummitt 19:38, 15 May 2006 (BST)
- If you read my mission statement, I did say that I would only comment the issues. I've not gone out of my way to ever call you out. Even here, I'm talking about the issue of your response, rather than noting how you've yet to contribute anything to prove that you are worth the bandwidth you expend. Me and Xoid, along with Conndraka, are currently invested in a project, and so I know that for one he's about 12 hours off of me and could use the rest. He has proven to me that his time is worth something, so therefore I submit my own time to cover an issue he cares about (you, doucheness, etc) that I also happen to care about (a clean wiki, doucheness, etc) so that he can use his time effectively.
So instead of proving that you aren't worth the time you invest or anyone else invests in reading again and again, and because you now can't even garner some sick kind of name recognition by vandalizing CyberBob again with Vista's warning ontop of your head, how about instead of doing Jack Crap, you fill in a suburb on the Locations List? You might actually get a positive response in the future. --Karlsbad 20:00, 15 May 2006 (BST)

- Granted, but I hadn't done anything to Xoid. If he cares so much about "doucheness" he would not have needed to start insulting me. He aggravated the situation, and didn't need to. he got involved because he wanted a fight, and I told him to back off several times. I understand loyalty to your friends, but in your defence of Xoid, you're a hypocrite in regards to the above. That's not an insult, so please don't take offense, but it is criticism. I don't want another enemy. I've said my piece on Cyberbob's moderation page, and I also admitted I was wrong for the act of vandalism, although I won't apologise to Cyberbob for vandalising his page. Petty, ain't it? - The allowing a single incident to taint his entire view of you. We've had it out before, but I'd say you're more stable than most of the mods I've met at Wikipedia. You're still moderator potential, as long as you can restrain your impulses. His getting overwrought over you bein' unfriendly isn't good enough reason — Grim has gotten into fights, some heated. As long as they calm down afterward and what needs to be done, gets done, standing against someone for a simple disagreement is… wrong. Just like the fight I had with Dog Deever — if he wanted to maintain the moral highground… you remember.
- I can't hate him, the anger just ain't enough. Anyone who can admit they're wrong has got some balls. Unfortunately, his outright refusal to apologise to you negates most of the effect of his admission.
- Incidentally, have you seen the minor maintenance work I did on Project UnWelcome?
- PS: You never did comment about the midgets ^_^ –Xoid S•T•FU! 14:58, 16 May 2006 (BST)
- OK. I saw the work: looking better now! And midgets? What midgets? Am I missing out on midgets? :'(
- PS: What do you think of my post(s) on Don's talk page? I'm fairly proud of it/them, actually. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - U! 15:06, 16 May 2006 (BST)
- In terms of "quality" flaming, yeah it is, mainly 'cause it's varied, unlike the boring shit most flamewarriors write. But that you are seeking my "approval" is… worrying. Although I might just be looking too far into things here. The midgets… read up. I made a comment about midgets. You'll find your way from there. –Xoid S•T•FU! 15:15, 16 May 2006 (BST)
- The midget comment… is interesting, to say the least. My eyes are soiled!!! In a moment of absolute foolishness I looked up Gidget the Midget! NOOOOOO!!!!!
- PS: I'm prone to bouts of insecurity. That's why I seeked your opinion. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - U! 15:19, 16 May 2006 (BST)

- But what about my PPS? WHAT ABOUT IT? IT HAS FEELINGS TOO! --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - U! 15:31, 16 May 2006 (BST)
- He would have a point there if I hadn't of surreptiously called you a cunt. In which case a "oh shut up" kind of comment would've been permissable, even without my "real mature" comment. As to the other two comments, when people ask you things, you're generally calm and reasonable. So the point about dealing with people who ask you things is invalid. As for the point where the one arguement is a good enough reason, I consider it invalid simply because an admin doesn't need to be lovey dovey to deal with deletions and such. Could he question some of your suitability? Yes. Basing it all on the exchanges that you started? Maybe. Stop going back and antagonising him, there is no need to make things worse than the mess they are now. –Xoid S•T•FU! 15:43, 16 May 2006 (BST)
- That was the whole point of my last post. I said I would never answer anything by him again, and I mean it. With the sole exception of public pages. I can't let him badmouth me in public without some form of reply. I'll keep all future replies polite, however. If I don't give him any more ammunition, he'll eventually run out of steam. NOTE: See his comment on my modship bid. I'm kind of getting annoyed at this guy, now… --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - U! 15:47, 16 May 2006 (BST)

Mod Bid
I'm sending this message out to everyone who had spoken on my modship bid. Recently it was suggested that I wipe the slate clean and start over with a new bid. I decided against this for two main reasons: First, I don't want to risk causing any drama, and Second, I don't want to risk people on either side not being heard the second time around.
I am, however, asking anyone who has spoken to take a moment of thier time to review the case and deatermine if they need to change thier vote or, more than likely, keep it as is. Thank you. --SirensT RR 14:55, 12 May 2006 (BST)
Re: Excuse Me, But...

Just in response to your recent message: I'm not very technically inclined and as such I wasn't sure if the archive I created was the correct way to do so, if you can confirm that it was created and titled correctly then I will provide a link to it on my page, that is also the reason why I haven’t moved all my messages there. Once again if you can confirm that it was correctly created I will move them there henceforth. As for your third point that 'in character info' was actually a message from a member requesting to join my alliance. Again I will move it upon confirmation. Just a quick question, I’m flattered that you care about my talk page, but why were you checking it? Kripcat 08:35, 12 May 2006 (BST)
- Hm… if the character info was signed I would've been able to recognise as such, but since you archived the page and left that there, I thought that it was something you wrote. I didn't pay much attention as I was digging through the history, as I was mainly looking to catch up on a conversation you had earlier. If I recall correctly, it had something to do with F.R.E.E.Z.E. and the IWM being at each others throats.
- The reason I was looking? I've got a good memory, and I'm a curious bugger, so it's a bit like walking in halfway through a movie; you catch just enough to pique your interest, but not enough to know what was going on.
- As for the archive, adding

should work. If you wanted to customise that message a bit, you can add
and save the page. Then the code from inside the template will be copied to the page, and you can alter it as you see fit from there. –Xoid S•T•FU! 09:22, 12 May 2006 (BST)

His composure is well kept, I guess he fears playin' the fool,
the students just sit and listen to that bullshit that he learned in school!
Europe ain't my rope to swing on,
can't learn a thing from it,
yet we hang from it,

yeah… like the motherfuckin' weathermen!"

- I goddamn love RAtM. What's your favourite song? I've got a whole bunch - People of the Sun, Bulls on Parade, Testify, Calm Like A Bomb, Vietnow and Ashes in the Fall. Note that none of these are in their first album. That's purely because I've listened to it for ages, and have only fairly recently started to listen to Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 17:18, 5 May 2006 (BST)
- Favourite song? Dunno really, I know which songs I love… "Sleep Now in the Fire", "Born of a Broken Man", "Ashes in the Fall", and those are just from the "new" album. I listen to the whole albums (RAtM & Battle of LA — too poor and lazy to go get Evil Empire) , and as long as the music's going I can match De la Rocha in both the tone, pitch, etc. of his voice and his all the words.
- Side note: what are you doing up at this hour young man? 15? Australia, It's at least 23:25, and anywhere upwards of that depending on how slow my computer's clock is, and whether you live in Perth or not. (Heh, calling someone "young man" when I'm only 20. That's a hoot.) –Xoid S•T•FU! 17:27, 5 May 2006 (BST)
- Answer to the side note: It's actually later than that. I'm in Melbourne, so it's 02:30 here. I'm up this late simply because it's Friday, and I can. :P
- PS: Take the time to get Evil Empire. Do it right now. It's worth the effort. Trust me. --Cyberbob240CDF - Arb - W! 17:30, 5 May 2006 (BST)

Sweet Zombie Jesus! You do know there is a preview button, right? –Xoid S•T•FU! 13:51, 24 April 2006 (BST) |
Sorry about that, I'm not much good with these new fangled things, I only grew up learning about them in every second class through Primary and High school… I will in the future use the preview button. (Which now seems embarisingly obvious). It is good to see another Australian on Urban Dead. Kripcat 14:08, 24 April 2006 (BST)
- We are suprisingly prolific on the web. I "run" into Aussies all the time. Quite suprising considering our small population base. You might want to note that it is usually considered poor form to remove stuff from the talk page. You can archive older discussions, if they are clogging up your page. Of course, garbage posted by adbots and such need not be archived, but I think that goes without saying. –Xoid S•T•FU! 14:34, 24 April 2006 (BST)
