::::::I've seen information on naming pages spread out all over the wiki. I understand that makes it hard to know what to do. If we included any more information in the welcome newbie template it would get even less reads. :). We don't normally delete pages for inactive groups (no Crit 12) and they did put content and thought into the pages. I will go through them and move them to Red Crescent name space (including the Facility one). If there are any that lack content I will put them up for deletion noting your comment here. Sound fair? Revision as of 19:26, 14 December 2008
This page is for the requesting of page moves by normal users. The average user's ability to move pages has been rescinded due to frequent abuse by vandals; as such, users will need to submit requests (similar in nature to those on Speedy Deletions and Protections) for pages to be moved by a sysop.
Guidelines for requesting a Page Move
Copy the template below (Or just type it), replace the text in red with the relevant details, and paste the template under the Move Request Queue heading. A day after a sysop has taken action on the request, move requests should be moved to the Archive.

Shadow guide
Requester: | Janus talk 13:53, 13 December 2008 (UTC) |
Reason: | Should be in the group's subspace in my opinion. |
Destination: | Shadow_legion/Pker Guide |
- There is at least another PK Guide of sorts in main space. Siege PKer Guide These two are different. It might just need the guide category (or resource whatever) put on it instead. It has content and doesn't seem to be just a Shadow Legion ad. I'm open to other opinions on this one for now.--– Nubis NWO 19:50, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Nubis, there are precedents for successful guides in user spaces. This would give them page ownership rights that they don't currently have, and it's kind of implied by their credits and ad at the bottom of the page that they want final edit privileges. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 20:00, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Karek moved it to here -- boxy talk • teh rulz 01:28 14 December 2008 (BST)
- And by doing so removed the group's ownership and final edit privileges as per Category:Guides. Well done there, taking a group's work off them when even the policy that establishes the namespace mentions that users are preferring and allowed to have such things in their own namespaces. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 01:53, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Stop making drama, please. The earliest edit to the page (showing) was Cheese in July. The user Mureth (that is listed first on the Shadow legion page - there is no leader listed) was last active in September. Someone posted on his talk page in July about the guide (and errors that should be corrected) and he didn't respond to them at all. The page really seems to be abandoned for the most part. The group doesn't even show up on the statistics page. We aren't "taking away final edit" rights. If a member of the group came forth and asked for the page to be put under their group space due to editing issues I doubt any of us would deny that request. As it is now the page was made as a guide and should be in guide space. --– Nubis NWO 13:47, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Red_Cresent_Emergency_Management_Protocols
Requester: | Janus talk 14:07, 13 December 2008 (UTC) |
Reason: | Should be in the group's subspace, along with the links on it. |
Destination: | Red_Cresent_Research_Facility/Protocols |
- Moved and links fixed.--– Nubis NWO 19:54, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- There are 3 other pages - Suburb Outbreak,Martial Law, andSuburb Quarantine which may need to be moved in the future. The pages have some decent information and with the exception of having the RCEM category on them could be useful as glossary/resource pages since they aren't overwhelming POV/groupcentric. I'm leaving them in main space for now until I get a chance to see if they are duplicated in the glossary.--– Nubis NWO 19:58, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- You've moved it to a sub page of a non-existent group, it sould be in the location that Janus provided -- boxy talk • teh rulz 01:31 14 December 2008 (BST)
- Red Crescent is the name they are using for their links. If that page should be under Red Crescent Research Facility/Protocols then several other links on their page will need to be moved, too. Actually, every link on the page will need to be moved. Maybe we should ask the group if they want it under Red Crescent or Red Crescent Research Facility. Janus, you are getting sloppy.... tsk, tsk :) --– Nubis NWO 14:02, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- I left a note on the group talk page asking them what the official name is and to reply here. I'll keep an eye on it.--– Nubis NWO 14:08, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I honestly don't think these are hurting anything by being under the template name space. They are not clogging up the category:template, they were clearly intended as recruitment templates, rather than move them why not put them up for deletion as unused in the cases of the ones that are? --– Nubis NWO 14:31, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Move them or don't. I couldn't care less, I know you're always looking to do less work for the community and all....
- If you don't move them then I'm taking the recruitment category off them as they're despoiling my pretty recruitment page list and we'll see what drama erupts. Sure, go ahead, don't move them. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 14:35, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- If they aren't being used as recruitment ads then they don't have to have the category on them. Take it off. And your little snarky comment about "looking to do less work" is quite laughable when you actually look at what I have done.--– Nubis NWO 14:37, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- My comment about less work is sarcastic when you shortened the multiple requests to one so you'd have less to copy and paste? Irony is just a five letter word to you isn't it? And as for what you've done, what? Removed escalations in clear violation of policy? Shall I take it to misconduct for the backscratching club to kick in again? -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 15:45, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I put them all under one because the reply is the same for all of them. The original requests are clearly in the history should someone decide they need to see them.
- I just finished all the locations that needed blocks (except for Monroeville). This included 23 streets on one page alone. As for the other, the only de-escalation that was really on the cusp was probably yours. Put you know what, I don't fucking care. If you feel the need to take it to misconduct be my guest. As a matter of fact it might be interesting to get the opinions of the new sysops on certain matters. But until then shut up. Your little threats are childish and wasted on me. --– Nubis NWO 16:15, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- So, are you admitting that you did de-escalations without conforming to policy? Or are you saying that you just couldn't be bothered to check what you doing and didn't give a damn about the trust the community places in you to do the job correctly? It might be interesting to get the new opinions, but two versus the old boys club is hardly going to work is it? Or are you saying you'll leave the decision entirely up to them? -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 17:06, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

- All moved, except the category. Moving categories still leaves the pages being categoriesed in the original, so it's pretty pointless. You have to manually change them to the new category, however there is no need to change the category, as it doesn't have to comply withh group sub-page considerations. Requester: | Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 08:32, 14 October 2008 (BST) |
Reason: | I think this is long overdue. Talk:Suggestions is so big and complicated that it needs to be a proper, separate page. It needs a real talk page, not some corner of a talk page of a category page nobody ever visits. |
Destination: | Developing Suggestions |
- Well, it wasn't deleted when it was put up on there. I don't see it getting moved either. I'm not sure I see the point in having a talk page for a talk page.--– Nubis NWO 14:43, 14 October 2008 (BST)
- The point?
From Talk:Suggestions#Discussion (Suggestion A/S/L):
Interesting, but I think this belongs in Category Talk:Suggestions, not here. Linkthewindow Talk 11:49, 13 October 2008 (BST)
- There are things that occasionally need to be discussed about Talk:Suggestions, like format, how long the suggestions stay on the page, what kind of suggestions are allowed etc. Like I said, the page is complex and big enough to warrant its own page, with a dedicated talk page. Normal talk pages are much easier to follow because they're automatically included in the watchlist if the main page is. Then there's the natural way of just clicking the "discussion" tab when you want to, you know, discuss things about the page. Where should you discuss things about a discussion page? It's very unclear and confusing, especially to newbies. I'm pretty sure Talk:Developing Suggestions would get more traffic than Category_talk:Suggestions#Discussion_About_Talk:Suggestions, which would mean that you wouldn't have to post things on Talk:Suggestions that do not belong there. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 15:24, 14 October 2008 (BST)
- I think this is a good idea. The Suggestions pages are confusing enough without having a talk page be used in such a manner. --PdeqTalk* 23:06, 14 October 2008 (BST)
It's probably a good idea, but such a major move should be discussed within the community before bringing it here. Ironically that would be on Category Talk:Suggestions -- boxy talk • teh rulz 13:09 16 October 2008 (BST)
- Which is why I brought it here. I didn't think it would get moved right away and it most likely gets more discussion here than there. though this page doesn't really get much traffic either... --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 13:23, 16 October 2008 (BST)
- I agree. Ironically (compared to my above statement) if this notion gets enough support here, it should probably be posted on Talk:Suggestions, so the mob there can decide. Linkthewindow Talk 11:54, 17 October 2008 (BST)
Anyone who is actually involved with the suggestions system has Category Talk Suggestions watched, the only people who aren't are arrogant trenchies who want to post their latest railgun suggestion. -- . . <== DDR Approved Editor 11:53, 17 October 2008 (BST)
- Even if that were true (which I don't think it is), it's still big and complex enough to deserve its own page & talk page. This makes it at least a little easier to find the first time and it's easier to reach on the following times (just click the "discussion" tab like everywhere else). Category_talk:Suggestions is a mess with discussion for Talk:Suggestions and the category page, discussion of the suggestions system in general, and discussing and voting on suggestion policies on it. This makes it a little cleaner. Yeah, sure, they're not very big advantages but if there aren't any downsides to the move (and none have been mentioned yet), why not move it? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 13:22, 17 October 2008 (BST)
I've read through the arguments above and I'll carry out the request. I'll also make sure that all the links into Talk:Suggestions (itself becoming a redirect) are changed accordingly. -- Cheese 19:55, 20 October 2008 (BST)
Talk:Suggestions/Overflow1
Thanks for the move, Cheese. But, you missed this overflow page. I've already changed the link on the new overflow page (Developing Suggestions/Overflow1), but the old overflow page needs to be moved. Thanks. There are also various old links that I'll go through and weed out (ie: the page linking to a "discussion" still links to Cat. Current Suggestions.) Thanks. Linkthewindow Talk 21:41, 20 October 2008 (BST)
What about this page? --Midianian|T|DS|C:RCS| 20:31, 23 October 2008 (BST)
- Well, technically it only got 2 keep votes so wouldn't that make it Peer Rejected? :D Actually, since the Overflow page is the main page (and not a talk page) that can just stay there. --– Nubis NWO 01:51, 24 October 2008 (BST)

Reason: | I'm not sure how Moves work... but the reason I'm asking for a move, instead of a simple cut 'n' paste edit is because I'd like preserve the orginal page's edit history. If Moving the page allows this, please make it so; if it doesn't, I'll do it the old fashioned way. (And if the new blank "Gallery" subpage needs to be speedydeleted and re-created to transfer the edit history, do so, you don't need my seperate permission.) Thanks. |
Destination: | Template:ExtremeRepair/Gallery |
Yeah, page moves preserve the edit history, but do you want it moved to a template sub-page (which means it's a template itself), or to the talk page sub-page, so it's just a record of images? -- boxy talk • i 12:33 2 October 2008 (BST)
- Yeah, make it a subpage of the Talk Page, please (call it "Gallery"). That's the least problematic solution. I thought of just giving it its own own page, but it's both a "gallery" and a "reporting thread" for users of the template -- so it's best it be connected to the template, I think. Thanks. --WanYao 12:58, 2 October 2008 (BST)
- Gah, and I need to speedy the page I created, sigh. --WanYao 12:59, 2 October 2008 (BST)
