Coalition for Fair Tactics

The Coalition for Fair Tactics (CFT) is an open organization of groups and players who have pledged to play and operate fairly and honestly. Membership is open to any groups or players who are willing to pledge support (as outlined below). Please review the appropriate section to see how you can become a member of the CFT.

Reason for the Coalition

Unfortunately, it is all too easy to play Urban Dead unfairly. From outright zerging to dishonestly obtaining private information from other groups, tactics that give one group or individual an unfair advantage over another are widespread and frequently abused.

The Coalition for Fair Tactics seeks to change that by creating an organization of groups and players who agree that playing unfairly is unacceptable, and who agree not to engage in any unfair tactics. The leaders of member groups can sign and ratify the Coalition for Fair Tactics Group Pledge, and individual players can sign the Coalition for Fair Tactics Player Pledge.

Members of the CFT are expected to uphold the pledge to the best of their abilities. Members who have pledged, and are then found to knowingly be in violation of the pledge, will be listed on this page. In the event that a member is unable to uphold the pledge, it is expected that they remove themselves from the pledge.

Definition of Unfair Tactics

For all intents and purposes, unfair tactics are defined as those acts which give one player or group an unfair advantage over another. Tactics which are annoying, disruptive, or disagreeable, but are nevertheless honest and valid, are not considered unfair.

Examples of Unfair Tactics Examples of Fair Tactics
 • Zerging or multi-abuse
 • Using dishonest strategies to gain private group information
 • Using information obtained through one character to benefit another
 • Having multiple characters in the same group
 • Exploiting a software bug
 • Infiltrating a group with the intent to harm it
 • Player-killing/zombie-killing
 • Destroying generators or radios
 • Overbarricading/destroying barricades
 • Combat reviving
 • Barricade strafing
 • Trenchcoating

How Can I Pledge?

Pledging for an entire group is open only to the leaders of that group. However, any individual player can pledge on his or her own. The process is simple. Just follow the appropriate steps below:

Group Leaders Individual Players
 1. Read the Coalition for Fair Tactics Group Pledge to be sure you understand it.
 2. Add your group's name to the Coalition for Fair Tactics Group Pledge Roster in the appropriate format and in alphabetical order.
 3. Add your signed timestamp below your group's listing and in the appropriate format.
 4. If your group has more than one leader, each additional leader should follow steps 3 and 5 on his or her own, adding his or her name in alphabetical, rank, or first-come, first-served order.
 5. If you want to, find out how else you can show your support.

The format for group leader pledges is:

*Previous group's information
*Your Group
*:First Leader's Title: ~~~~
*:Second Leader's Title: ~~~~
*:…
*:Last Leader's Title: ~~~~
*Next group's information

 1. Read the Coalition for Fair Tactics Player Pledge to be sure you understand it.
 2. Add your signed timestamp to the Coalition for Fair Tactics Player Pledge Roster in the appropriate format and in alphabetical order.
 3. If you want to, find out how else you can show your support.

The format for player pledges is:

*Previous player's information
* ~~~~
*Next player's information

Assembly of Representatives

When necessary, an Assembly of Representatives will be created to discuss and enact action by the CFT against a particularly problematic group/player who are/is playing unfairly. This action is not to be taken lightly, and should only be done when no other avenues of combatting the unfair tactics appear feasible. The Assembly is not a permanent part of the CFT, and neither are Representative positions on the Assembly. Once the group or player in question has been adequately dealt with, the Assembly will be dissolved. The Assembly is not in a leadership position over the CFT; instead, it represents all of the groups and players who have taken a CFT Pledge, and helps to organize action.

The creation of the Assembly should take place as follows:

 • A new entry should be added below the "Current Assembly" header below. It should contain the following information:
Coalition for Fair Tactics vs. Whomever

Enacted: DD Month Year

Dissolved: N/A

Representatives:
*Group Representative 1 (Group 1)
*Group Representative 2 (Group 2)
...
*Group Representative n (Group n)
*Player Representative 1 (Players)
*Player Representative 2 (Players)
...
*Player Representative n (Players)

Cause:

The reason for its formation, along with any necessary supporting arguments.

Discussion: Coalition for Fair Tactics/Assembly/Short Name
 • The highest-ranked leader, or one of the highest-ranked leaders, of each Pledged group should be selected as a Representative. In the event that the leader does not wish to participate on the Assembly, or cannot, a replacement should be selected by choosing the next leader of the same rank or lower.
 • A representative sample of the Pledged players should be selected as Representatives. None of the selected players should be affiliated with any of the Pledged groups. The number of selected players should at least equal the number of selected group leaders, but should not exceed twice the number of selected group leaders.
 • If feasible, no group should have more than one Representative. In the case that a selected Representative is in more than one group, he or she may only represent one of the groups, or the players if he or she is a player Representative.
 • Time is often of the essence. If any Representative is not able to fulfill his or her duties, or has not indicated his or her acceptance of the position of Representative in a timely manner, another should be chosen in his or her place.
 • Each Representative should acknowledge his or her acceptance of his or her position on the Assembly by placing "(X)" next to his or her name.
 • Once the majority of the Assembly has accepted their positions, a discussion page should be opened at Coalition for Fair Tactics/Assembly/Short Name where Short Name is a shorter version of the full Assembly title. CFTAssemblyDiscussion should be placed on the top of the page, and all relevant comments should be moved to that page's talk page.

Coalition for Fair Tactics Group Pledge

Unfair tactics are disruptive to the game and simply unacceptable. I pledge not to knowingly engage in any unfair tactics. Additionally, as leader of my group, I pledge not to allow my group or any of its member to knowingly engage in unfair tactics. If I discover that my group or any of its members is in violation of the pledge, I will take all appropriate action to remove the violators from the group, deliver any and all reasonable reprimands to the violaters, and notify others if other action should be taken. Furthermore, if I discover that any members of the Coalition for Fair Tactics are in violation of the pledge, I will notify the Coalition via its talk page. If I discover any other groups or players who are using unfair tactics, I will do my best to combat their actions.
