September '07 Round

September '07 Round Final Results

This promotion round ended successfully on September 17st, 2007, with Vista regaining Bureaucrat status, after the position of Darth Sensitive had opened up.
I have promoted Vista and demoted myself at this time. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 05:04, 18 September 2007 (BST)

Rules

Rules for starting an election.

  1. When a Bureaucrat resigns, or loses his status due to demotion or inactivity an election is started immediately.
    • A Bureaucrat that hasn't made a single edit in one month is considered as inactive and forfeits his status as bureaucrat.
  2. After 3 months with no elections on a bureaucrat position, an election is called for the bureaucrat position longest without an election.
  3. If, for any reason, an individual Bureaucrat position hasn't faced an election after 12 months, then an election is called after that period.
  4. The election ends after two weeks wiki time counting from the when the election is started.
  5. The candidate with the most votes wins the election.
  6. In the event of a tied vote the remaining bureaucrats will decide between the tied candidates.

Rules concerning candidates

  1. All active users with the sysops status are automatically declared candidates for any vacant Bureaucrat positions.
    • Users with at least 12 edits in the 30 days before the election are considered "active" for purposes of the election.
  2. The Bureaucrat whose position comes up for election if said election is started under rule 2 of Rules for starting an election is automatically declared a candidate.
  3. A candidate can retract his own candidacy at any time.

Rules concerning voting.

  1. All users have only one vote per bureaucrat position to be filled.
  2. Users vote for a candidate by signing under the preferred candidates name.
  3. Users may change their votes for a candidate as long as the election has not ended.
    • Multiple votes at the same time will be struck.
  4. Sockpuppetry is considered vandalism.

Eligible candidates

The bureaucrat position of Darth Sensitive ‎has opened up and the following sysops are eligible for promotion. Please remember that while it is O.k. to switch your vote, you are only allowed one vote. Multiple votes for different candidates will be struck.

Dux Ducis

Well, I've been in UD since early-mid 2006 and an active wiki-member since October 2006. I've had my hand in many areas on the wiki including adding content to the help pages, pushing for template revisions and suggestions system revision, helping newbies with their suggestions and welcoming and mentoring many of the poor newbies. I also conduct the general maintenance of the clothes suggestions page, removing dupes and spam, while archiving the rest. I think my always-active involvement on the wiki would be a bonus to me being a 'crat. I've encountered frustration in the past with inactive 'crats, with issues and promotions not being resolved in a timely manner. If I'm promoted, I won't go inactive anytime soon and let the wiki slide. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:18, 6 September 2007 (BST)

  1. He has been an active and moderate sysop with good judgment who would complement Boxy nicely.-- Vista  +1  22:48, 3 September 2007 (BST)

  5. A vote for Dux Ducis is a vote for freedom! --Vandr 02:51, 6 September 2007 (BST)

Hagnat

I am around here since november 2005, have been promoted to moderator (SysOp, as we called them now) in April 2006. I am responsible for the improvement that led to our current suburb danger system, for the buildings danger report system, for the policy discussion system, had the idea for the suggestion system a year before it could have been implemented (it wasnt possible at the time due some mediawiki limitations). I try to defend free speech as much as possible (as long as people dont overdo this privilege). I try to defend our right for fun, even it breaks minor copyright issues. I try to preserve this wiki history, even if this means that we are going to have tons of half-made group pages. In September 2007, Vote Hagnat

  13. Seems like the logical choice, based on what work I've seen him do already. He can sometimes seem a bit of a hard ass, but that seems to be what these jobs call for at times. If this was just about voting for a friendly face or a good community member, I'd pick somebody else (and there's a LOT of good choices on that criteria- else they wouldn't be nominated), but there should be more to consider. Besides, I gotta vote with the zombie leadership... :P SIM Core Map.png Swiers 13:27, 5 September 2007 (BST)

  20. I'm going to have to agree with what is said above. I personally disagreed with one of his desicion, but that desicion is exactly the reason I'm voting for him...he has to do what is necessary to help the wiki and not please certain segments of people, and it's time we promote this man. Max Grivas

In the whole scheme of taking turns and sharing the load I am willing and able to preform the duties of a bureaucrat. As my proponents like to say ... When Max Grivas is elected, who profits? YOU PROFIT! Meanwhile, I'm voting for Swiers. --Max Grivas JG / M.F.T. 01:26, 5 September 2007 (BST)

Mobius187

Talk about myself? Well okay. Most of my Sysop work on the wiki is done while wiling away free time at work or between other hobbies. As for my work on the wiki I'm probably least known for all the clean-up work I do (for example, archiving suburb news and fixing their TOCs) while my most public edit would have to be the creation of the suburb group headers (Pro-Survivor/Zombie/Hostile). And there you have it. --Mobius187, September 4 2007, 8:10 AM (EST)

The_General

Well, here we are again. I joined the wiki on 26th November 2005 and became a sysop on 13 April 2006, making me the longest running currently active sysop on the wiki. I've been less active for a while, but i'm still here (and probably always will be).

Vantar

Not much to say, Ive been here since October 2006 became a sysop (technically I became a mod as this was before the name change) 4 months later. Since then I've been creating location pages and clearing out the various queues. Whoa, according to my edit counter this is my 9000th edit.- Vantar 01:37, 4 September 2007 (BST)

  1. Everyone should get at least one vote. Spreads goodwill :) --MarieThe Grove on Tour 13:36, 8 September 2007 (BST)

Vista

I started playing UD in mid 2005 and joined the wiki in october that year as the 595th user. I was promoted to Sysop in april '06. I became the first chosen Bureaucrat later in July. I demoted myself in order to take a break from the wiki. I wouldn't mind returning to the large honorific position of the secondary Bureaucrat. Although I have to warn people that due to the current workload of my Job I will continue to be less active for about month yet and purely play second fiddle to boxy during that period. For people who consider that a deal breaker I endorse Dux Ducis.

  1. With all the respect I owe to Dux, and while I agree with Vista that he's a great choice, Vista himself seems a greater choice for me. Being quite calm and balanced, and an experienced user within the wiki, he's a natural choice. Expressing all the other reasons I have to vote for him would prove lenghty if I had to. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 23:06, 3 September 2007 (BST)
  2. Vista has experience. Let's see if those past experience still helps him out. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 00:13, 4 September 2007 (BST) You know what? You will hear my vote sometime next week. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 00:01, 7 September 2007 (BST)
While I'm sorry to lose your vote, I completely agree with your reason. There are a lot of good candidates and I'm surprised only me and Hagnat are getting votes. People may be voting to much on autopilot.-- Vista  +1  10:27, 7 September 2007 (BST)

Swiers

Thanks for the support, but I'm not interested in running, and if elected, will not serve. Truth told, "moderator" is a position I hardly make use of / serve in / know the ropes of. No point in promoting me BEYOND my level of interest and competence. All the reasons people give below for voting for me- I can continue to do equally well without being a Bureaucrat.

  1. I support Sweirs unequivocally... His contributions to the UD community are numerous and of outstanding quality (Iwitness, anyone... but not just that). And his level-headedness and impartiality will definitely be an asset to the wiki. Vote union! Vote Seb MCWU! :P --WanYao 23:47, 3 September 2007 (BST)
