Suburb

From The Urban Dead Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search
A Suburb is a named 10 block by 10 block subsection in the city of Malton. There are 100 suburbs in Malton, arranged in a 10 by 10 grid.

In the game, the suburb you are in is given at the top of the 3x3 map showing your immediate environment. There is no special procedure for moving from one suburb to another - simply keep walking and you will find yourself in a new suburb. If your map has fewer than nine squares, you are at one of the boundaries of Malton itself, not simply the boundary of a suburb.

Reports

Quarlesbank is being retaken by a first wave of Extinction zombies. The Haslock NT has already been secured and the surrounding is being engaged. Threat level should now be viewed as "very dangeroues" as there is almost zero retaliation by survivors. --General shkkf 22:23, 19 September 2008 (GMT)
Currently, one of the Police Department is under attack by 20 zeds, and a few days before it was the NT building. Even if the streets are pretty safe from zombyz, it should be changed to "moderate" --GoLookAndKill 09:52, 17 September 2008 (BST)
While the suburb is mostly safe, there have been sporadic break-ins in the south and west. Zombie activity appears to be on the rise as rumors of an incoming horde travel the airwaves. Upgraded to moderate. --Guilty 00:17, 17 September 2008 (BST)
Much of the east side reclaimed. Active zombies and frequent break-ins, but not enough to justify 'Very Dangerous'. --Garum 22:58, 16 September 2008 (BST)
134 zombies counted, just outside. Only 2 of the 16 Tactical Resource Points are still 'caded (both loosely, one, a Police Department, under serious assault), but not powered. The rest are ruined, and include 4 hospitals, 4 factories, 4 NecroTechs and 2 Police Departments. Upgraded to Very Dangerous on the basis of this tour. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:30, 15 September 2008 (BST)
Nearly all the Tactical Resource Points (bar a single hospital, without power) are ruined, and held by small groups of 3-6 zombies each. This includes 6 NecroTech buildings, 2 hospitals, 2 Police Departments and 3 factories. The hospital in the far south of the suburb was not checked. Counting all of those zombies (inside and outside) came to a total of 42. Even assuming a few zombies hiding out in non-TRPs (although a sample check came back empty), this fits the definition of a Ghost Town ("...2/3rds of the suburb's buildings either Empty of Survivors or Ransacked/Ruined AND having no zombie mobs of over 10 and no total zombies over 60"), and so I'm changing the danger level. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 19:05, 15 September 2008 (BST)
Further investigation revealed more hidden zombies, so it's back to Very Dangerous. Good night, and good luck. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 16:49, 17 September 2008 (BST)
At least 76 zombies on the streets, but spread out across the suburb in small groups of about 10 at the most. Of the 19 Tactical Resource Points in the 'burb, 5 are ruined, 5 are powered and 9 are not powered (although 'caded). Most of the heavy damage is in the west of the suburb. (See the suburb page for a full breakdown.) That does fit the given description for a Moderate danger level, although I could understand if someone marked it as Dangerous, given the ruination in the west of the suburb, and the lack of power to many of the TRPs. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 16:35, 15 September 2008 (BST)
The mall is now fully controlled by the Zeds. All revive points are inactive, due to the constant attacks on the Whitlock Building. Many buildings, especially in the NE corner of Dulston, are either ruined or fully controlled by Zombies. Many survivors have fled from the zombie horde, which is estimated to be 100+ zombies in the Treweeke Mall area alone. Not sure if there are any dedicaded survivors left or not, but grim times have fallen on Dulston... --Omega360 03:01, 9 September 2008 (BST)
All TRPs powered, barricaded and being maintained by survivor groups. The neighborhood's two revive points are clear and actively maintained. Haven't seen a ruined building in the burb though there may be. Zombie break-ins still occur but they are rare and small in scale. --Giles Sednik 01:15, 6 September 2008 (BST)
All revive points clear, TRPs unruined (Barring that blasted power station) and largest zombie group found is 4. Upgrading to moderate. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:35, 27 August 2008 (BST)
As expected the RRF has decided that Dowdney Mall is still considered a human safe spot. And oh do they hate that, most of the buildings including the Hall Building and the Dewes Building are under attack by 10+ groups and growing. Reported groups of 30 are confirmed. Please move up to dangerous level and expect very dangerous soon. --Lemonie Wednesday 7:35:25 July 30 (EST)
The RRF are nowhere near Santlerville and haven't been in more than a year, dimwit. --Papa Moloch 04:04, 4 September 2008 (BST)
The new horde of zombies have stormed the Northern part of Santlerville, many survivor safehouses have fallen. Dangerous zone? --Khorne25 23/08/08 GMT: 1112 Grogh
