Revision as of 03:23, 29 December 2008

Looked at the Radio page lately? Noticed the amount of "active" frequencies. It's time we fixed this. Did what The Great Suburb Group Massacre did to the suburb pages, to the radio page. When survivor groups go inactive, most don't bother to remove their frequency from here. It's time we did that, and made the wiki more accurate.

What to do

Simply type {{Radio Active?}} onto a group's talk page. This is for all groups regardless of size. Typing that produces this:

Stop hand.png Group Active? Request.
In order to maintain the wiki as an up to date source of information groups are occasionally removed from the Radio pages when they are no longer active. Is this group still active? If so simply confirm here by writing something below. If not it's frequency will be removed from Radio pages in 14 days.

After two weeks, go back to the page, and then check for a response. If there is a response, their frequency stays. If not, then it gets removed.

You can also use these templates:

If inactive, simply add {{Radio Inactive?}} to the page, below the preceding template.

That will produce this:

Stop hand.png Group Inactive?
No reply has been received as to whether this group is still active. The 14 days have passed and as such the groups frequency has been removed from radio listings. If the group is again active please feel free to revert these changes

If a response is given, then change the ? in the template to a !, producing this:

Check-Mark-Reviewed.jpg Group Confirmed.
This frequency was confirmed active. Thank you for your reply.

Don't forget to sign.

This has no bearing on suburb pages-if a group doesn't reply, DO NOT take off their suburb link. We'll do another Suburb Group Massacre later.

Other Guidelines and Stupid Questions

  • Check every group. We all know that the DEM is active, but it saves newer users asking and means that all groups are treated equally.
  • Don't check Location or District frequencies for now.
  • Of course, if a frequency has been removed and a group is still active, then they can add it immediately.
  • If a group has been found inactive by The Great Suburb Group Massacre, then check again. It's been a while, and they could have returned to activity.

Progress

We'll start with group frequencies first. Strike out a frequency when you check it, sign, and then sign again in two weeks once it's been checked.

Alright, myself and Jen have completed the first run of templating. That means all groups must have replied by the 29th of December (that's by server time.) The current time, according to the server (depending on caching issues) is 05:32 6 May 2024. Linkthewindow  Talk  03:36, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I've started to go through and check all groups. Some groups have already responded, and checking now will make the job easier in a week. Linkthewindow  Talk  07:33, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Let's do this! If a group hasn't responded, remove their link from this page, and put their name here (yes, it's in my user space, but you can edit it. I may do something with inactive groups later.) Then, put {{Radio Inactive?}} on their page with a timestamp. Thanks for your help again. Linkthewindow  Talk  01:54, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

26.21MHz through 26.50MHz

--All down to 26.50 have been templated. Check in two weeks. Linkthewindow  Talk  23:13, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Done. Heaps found inactive. Linkthewindow  Talk  02:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

26.51MHz through 27.00MHz

Voila. All groups in this section have been templated (though I do have questions about two of the ones on the list...see the talk page). Check in two weeks. --Jen 01:20, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Just did Speels, which you didn't do for reasons explained on the talk page. Linkthewindow  Talk  22:49, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Oh, thanks! Darn, I thought I'd gone back and done him, but I guess I didn't. :/ --Jen 23:07, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
He removed it. Meh, I'll just take that as he isn't using the station. Linkthewindow  Talk  03:18, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Done. Linkthewindow  Talk  03:03, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

27.01MHz through 27.50MHz

--Checked. Linkthewindow  Talk  01:38, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Done. 02:43, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

27.51MHz through 28.00MHz

All groups templated. Check in two weeks. --Jen 02:08, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

28.01MHz through 28.50MHz

Done, check in two weeks. Linkthewindow  Talk  02:48, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

28.51MHZ through 28.99MHz

--Templated, thus completing the first run of templating. Check in two weeks. Linkthewindow  Talk  03:31, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
