A Suburb is a named 10 block by 10 block subsection in the city of Malton. There are 100 suburbs in Malton, arranged in a 10 by 10 grid.

In the game, the suburb you are in is given at the top of the 3x3 map showing your immediate environment. There is no special procedure for moving from one suburb to another - simply keep walking and you will find yourself in a new suburb. If your map has fewer than nine squares, you are at one of the boundaries of Malton itself, not simply the boundary of a suburb.

A list of well known (and not so well known) nicknames for the many suburbs of our fair city can be found here.

Reports

No survivor activity, very few zombies wandering around the outside. Most buildings need 70+ AP to repair. Time for Ghost Town, I think. -Leeksoup 16:21, 11 August 2008 (BST)
Safehouses, entrypoints plentiful; resource buildings largely powered and well-caded; ruins few; free-running lanes mostly uninterrupted. Zombies still active/present – break-ins not uncommon, especially at NT building, but dealt with quickly and neatly. - Mac Howard 01:48, 9 August 2008 (BST)
Dulston prove itself to be the safest human stronghold once again. Due to valiant effort of survivors, all the zombies were driven out of the Northestern area. All buildings are now firmly in human hands. Cheers! -- Kittithaj 15:05, 8 August 2008 (BST)
Laiz. There are still zombies in Dullston. Brains were eaten just last night, and more will be consumed as soon as inhumanly possible. In fact, Dullston is a wonderful place for upwardly mobile young zambahz looking to establish themselves. Sure, headshots in the street abound, but there are always risks! However, the streets of Dullston are literally paved with fresh, jiggly brains[1] -- well worth the extra effort! And then there is the prime real estate: you can reap great profits with only a minimal investment in skylights, sliding patio doors and other "open air" renovations -- just find a partner to go in with. Yes, Dullston is the place to be! --WanYao 15:17, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Tompson has 3 corners up and running, but SW corner still infested with the undead.--Ryan Quicksilver 9:55, 5 August 2008 (BST)

This information is doubtfull or deprecated. 5 August 2008 in morning Tompson Mall was ruined as several resource buildings around. Report on Lockettside page from Grogh is more accurate. - Bug MacLock 12:52, 6 August 2008 (BST)
As expected the RRF has decided that Dowdney Mall is still considered a human safe spot. And oh do they hate that, most of the buildings including the Hall Building and the Dewes Building are under attack by 10+ groups and growing. Reported groups of 30 are confirmed. Please move up to dangerous level and expect very dangerous soon. -- Lemonie Wednesday 7:35:25 July 30 (EST)
Suburb is very safe, the MOB has moved out a few weeks ago now, Marven is EHB, with full generators. Revive points in the west are full, with some rotters. Linkthewindow 07:33, 18 August 2008 (BST)
As the MCDU continue their reclamation, there is a high likelihood that the suburb will be reclaimed to green within the next week. Even as zombies remain on the street, they are being pushed back. Recommend status change to Yellow, then Green. - EchelonThree 15:23, 15 July 2008 (BST)
Many of the buildings along the Scarletwood-Danversbank border are ruined and both hospitals are under constant attack. At a glance, the streets of Scarletwood don't appear to be that dangerous but Luellin Towers [72-89] seems to be the site of some kind of undead convention, currently hosting 27 zombies. A headcount of total undead in the suburb exceeds 60 but they seem to be moderately contained in the south of the suburb for now. Recommend suburb status be watched closely and changed from yellow to orange if the dead start moving and branching out. - Dr Killdare 5:29, 26 July, 2008 (EST)
All locations of note ruined, most dark. The majority of generic buildings are also ruined. Unruined buildings are unnocupied. Over 150 zeds in the streets. Updated to Very Dangerous. EDIT: could find only one lit building; on Shearbank border.--Catman03 00:02, 10 July 2008 (BST)
All buildings barricaded, most with generators and lit, RPs are clear. A couple of zombies wander thru occasionally. Status was change to green a while ago. --Piker Pete 01:55, 3 July 2008 (BST)
External military report notes "...around a hundred and fifty on the streets...". Herbert NT is about to fall from an organized RRF strike, with the only big target remaining being the mall itself. Upgraded to red. --Aeon17x 01:14, 2 July 2008 (BST)
Infrastructure is not in great shape. Survivor activity minimal. But zombie activity is also only moderate. Downgraded to orange. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 13:08, 29 June 2008 (BST)
The whole suburb is still a wreck and still crawling with zombies. Upgraded to red. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 12:46, 29 June 2008 (BST)
The area is now green according to external military report and local residents. -- Kittithaj 16:43, 25 June 2008 (BST)
Edgecombe is finally starting to feel the heat again, as its western border is occupied by zeds spilt over from Roftwood. Two of its hospitals have fallen, but no moves yet into the east part of the suburb, where most of its resource buildings lie. Moderately dangerous, just so long as they don't make a move east. --Vandurn 14:55, 19 June 2008 (BST)
There's quite few survivors, around 7 to 30 but also zombies have been coming more into town. Saw activity of around 10-20 zombie and also there were some zombies gathering. Also some break-ins have been made and zombies are in some of the cops stations.

--Quincy Eagle 22:44, 18 June 2008 (BST)

The entire area is devestated, a large number of buildings are ruined and a few zombies can be seen roaming the streets. Danger level increased to orange, but possibly a red 'burb. -- User:The Rooster RoosterDragon User talk:The Rooster 18:03, 16 June 2008 (BST)
Oh, God, most of the suburb is gone! The zombies aren't in hordes, but are mostly spread out amongst the fallen buildings. Reccomend a status of Very Dangerous.--Modernplague 22:45, 14 June 2008 (BST)
All buildings appear in working order, and the barricade plan is being enforced. Some brave survivors are even sleeping on the streets, and proving easy targets for the 40 or so zeds that remain. Mitchem Mall suffered a break in today, but the lone zombie looked more embarrased than terrifying. Pretty safe. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:39, 4 June 2008 (BST)
Zmabas hav atan ah harmanz. Faa harman hambargaz far zmabas za av na. Zmaba BARHAH! --People's Commissar Hagnat talk - mod 01:16, 4 June 2008 (BST) (suburb completely in ruins)
Most buildings ruined or barricades have been torn down with zombies inside. Zombies are clustering on every building that is not ruined. Barricades do not usually stay up for more than one night. Most zombies are coming from Paynterton. Pkers are also a threat. Updating to Very Dangerous.--l33t 0wn3r 19:30, 29 May 2008 (EST)
Pegton is a ruined wasteland. The entire southern half of the suburb is ruined, and zombies freely roam the streets. Resource buildings have been ransacked and there is no presence large enough to reclaim them. --Vandurn 02:15, 29 May 2008 (BST)
Many ruined buildings, but few hostile zombies. Garum 08:26, 26 May 2008 (BST)
Most buildings are ruined, with groups of 1-5 zombies outside. Didn't see any large mobs, but the suburb is dangerous, at least. Garum 11:17, 25 May 2008 (BST)
All secured, revive points mostly cleared. A few breakins from ferals. Buckley Mall is up. Doesn't appear to have any organized zed activity. Moved to Moderate, may even be Safe. VaughnOTD 20:11, 22 May 2008 (BST)
Hollomstown appears secure for the time being, there are no real break-ins and very few zombies wandering around overall. --RichterFury 16:42, 6 August 2008 (BST)
Because of the rift in the suburb and the adjacent area caused by the warring factions, I've downgraded it to SpecialModerate. Ioncannon11 00:52, 22 May 2008 (BST)
West Grayside is safe, few break-ins have been detected and those zeds that stand up don't stay stood up for long. --RichterFury 16:42, 6 August 2008 (BST)
Moving to Yellow. A few pockets of zed activity, but revive queues are low and most resource buildings are in survivor hands. All hospitals and Angerstein NT are up VaughnOTD 17:37, 18 May 2008 (BST)
Moving to Yellow. Still a few pockets of zed activity, mostly around Darnell NT, but revive queues are low and most resource buildings are in survivor hands. Fram and Silwood NTs have large piles of bodies out, but not much other activity. VaughnOTD 17:37, 18 May 2008 (BST)
Moving to Yellow. Still a few pockets of zed activity, but revive queues are low and all resource buildings are in survivor hands. Some zed activity around Jilliard NT, but strong survivor defense is holding. VaughnOTD 17:37, 18 May 2008 (BST)
There are zombies everywhere and many buildings are ruined. Hospitals are under constant attack and many resource buildings have been ruined. Should be changed to Dark Orange/Dangerous.

--Joshua Matthews 19:23, 15 May 2008 (BST)

Barricading activity is ongoing. Largest mob of zeds is only 6, but many resource building are broken into and occupied. Peddlesden Village should be considered Dangerous - it is no longer a ghost town.--Matt Mucker 13:42, 14 May 2008 (BST)
Near Thomson Mall, all the TRPs and many other buildings are barricaded and powered. Downgrading to Dangerous, but possibly should be only Moderate. Garum 20:51, 10 May 2008 (BST)
Ten outside the Cyril General Hospital, but few elsewhere in the north of the suburb. Most buildings barricaded and some powered. Garum 09:20, 10 May 2008 (BST)

All of the resource buildings are inhabited by zombies. Active groups in the teens to mid-twenties. Downdgrading to Dangerous.--Giles Sednik 15:34, 1 August 2008 (BST)

Two really small "hordes" of around 10-20 zombies each. Nearly no ferals. Buildings all in good repair, mostly caded and more than half lit. -Aidan Swart 23:22, 9 May 2008 (BST)
A few break ins but no real horde.--Dragon fang 21:46, 9 May 2008 (BST)
Still several occupied resource buildings and several buildings with a single low level zombie inside, but this suburb is starting to come back. Two Necrotech buildings are operational and revive queue lines are very short with a moderately fast turnover. --FrozenFlame 21:31, 9 May 2008 (BST)
25.96 MHz: "... All scans / tour of Gullonside have turned up positive results of being safe for the living... for now... Mall has been lit for days and very few standing zeds throughout the suburb..."
Lets make this place Safe.--Wareameye 14:45, 2 May 2008 (BST)
Just did a quick circuit of the suburb and found it mostly devoid of zombies. I think I saw 12 total, 8 of whom were outside Creek NT. Frelghra 23:48, 2 May 2008 (BST)
Just a couple of breakins, certainly no mobs of 50+. Setting to moderate. --AusIV 15:16, 6 May 2008 (BST)
From EMRP: 04:12, 3 May 2008 (BST) 25.96 MHz: "... can see maybe fifty on the streets of Brooke Hills ... mostly just stragglers, no organised groups ... can't see any signs of life ... serious collateral damage ... the Hellyer Building is out of action ..." (6 hours and 49 minutes ago)
However, I counted 71 zeds in my scans from the Hellyer and Heathcote Buildings, so it's obviously not a Ghost Town anymore. Not sure if it's "Dangerous" or "Moderate", since I only saw about 18 buildings on my way through (only a handful of them ruined), but since I only saw about three isolated survivors, and of the three resource buildings I saw two were ruined (the other barricaded but with no survivors inside), I'm going to change the status to "Dangerous". --Morgan Blair 07:42, 4 May 2008 (BST)
