Format for Posting Adverts

Group adverts are to follow a very specific format. Your advert code should look like this:

Type is optional but will help readers.

The entire advert content is "encased" in a table. This prevents one advert's formatting from affecting other adverts due to image "text flow" and so on.
"Group Name/Recruit" is a normal wiki page that contains the content of the advert. Using the curly brackets and colon inserts your advert page's entire contents onto this page, just as if it were a template.
"Type" is the type of group. Generally one of the following, but you are free to choose your own: Survivor Group, Zombie Group, PKer Group, Mixed Group, or Organization.
You MUST put the following categories on your "Group Name/Recruit" page:

Additionally you should add:

Place your advert in alphabetical order by group name. Adverts not posted in the proper alphabetical order will be moved.
Large Groups or Organizations with significant subgroups are limited to one advert. This includes groups such as the DHPD and the DEM, they may use their advert to direct players to the separate sub-groups.
The advert must have a timestamp (five tildes - ~~~~~) or a signature with an attached timestamp. This can be placed either on this page or on your adverts page.
After two months as measured from the timestamp the entire advert may be removed for inactivity. It is the group’s responsibility to update the timestamp to prevent the advert being deleted. Updating the timestamp may and should be done at any time while the group is still recruiting.
Adverts which do not use the format below or fails to adhere to the guidelines above will be commented out. This can be done using comment tags - . A dated comment will be left in the edited section explaining why the advert page was dis-included; if the advert is not fixed within two weeks, the entire section will be removed.

Your adverts formatting must not break the page. Preview before you save!
When viewed on an 800*600 resolution, as a rough guideline your advert should not exceed 800px in height.
When viewed on an 800*600 resolution, your advert should not cause a horizontal scrollbar to appear.
All images used in the advert must not come to a grand total of more than 56KiB (56K).
No templates are allowed in your advert for technical reasons. Before you put up the advert, use subst to replace any template calls with the template's code.
No subheadings.

Helpful Guidelines for Advert Content

Clearly written adverts which contain requirements for membership at the start or in bold, as well as a method of contact and reasons for joining your group, normally get the most response. Remember, this advert represents your group. The easier it is to read and understand, the better. Attractive formatting and helpful links will also attract prospective members. If your group is active in a specific area or areas, it is a good idea to provide this information - not all people are willing to travel.

The Abandoned : Pro-survivors

The Abandoned is one of the oldest remaining survivor groups in the game. We are actively recruiting new members to barricade, heal, revive and defend against the zombie threat in Yagoton.

We are a group structured around individuals being able to take action themselves by group guidelines while communicating through a forum structure. We rarely give direct orders, unless you are part of a cell.

We have several cool toys, tools, and scripts found nowhere else, as they were created by our own members. For newer players we offer help and advice in their character progression.

We have stood against many threats to ourselves and the people of Yagoton from both zombies and PKers alike and we are still here. Defending the most successful revive effort in the city, the YRC, we have helped to provide the city with a great place for survivors to live and thrive.

Army Control Corps : Survivors

Army Control Corps

The Army Control Corps is a tactical and mobile group dedicated to aiding survivors and eradicating the Zombie infestation that pervades Malton. Some of our Operations involve the salvaging of decimated suburbs, assisting Survivors/Allies in the defense of buildings besieged by large Zombie hordes, and the pursuit of humanitarian efforts which involve the revivification and medical treatment of local Survivors in hard-hit areas.

Currently, there are two combat squads in service as well as a small Special Forces detachment. Roles are chosen via a Job System upon entrance to the group, and the types available range from pure assault stances to more supportive duties that require work behind the scenes.

Lastly, all those who want to join (any level or class) may do so - whether it is preferred to engage in combat or just survive, an open, suitable spot can be found to tailor to one’s needs. To immediately seek enlistment within the ACC, please register here and submit your application here.

BBC : Pro News

Do you think you have what it takes to be a Reporter for the BBC?

If you fancy taking a less fully armed approach to UD, but with all the action, then the BBC is for you.

Ideal for Experienced Players, the BBC asks candidates to make a fresh alt from scratch with a clean identity. We ask this as, although most of the time in game you may be DEM, LUE, RR, ETC, the BBC is an impartial group, and therefore requires players with the contacts for stories, but without the baggage of reputation. Regular alt names will not be released to the general public, unless the player specifically asks for recognition.

A role with the BBC is for players that wish a change from the typical role playing styles of UD. You could be reporting on the DEM's efforts to bring order to Malton, you could be roaming with a large zombie pack or you could be following the devastation of a PKA attack. You could also be there on the front lines with a survivor group making a last stand...or you could be doing interviews. The opportunities are many within the BBC.

Your BBC Journalist will not take a hands on approach to UD. We don't go out of our way to campaign against Zombies, Survivors or PKers, nor do we lend any direct assistance to any group, regardless of pulse. However, we have to make the XP somehow as well as defend ourselves as necessary, thus some 'kills' may be unavoidable. The preferred means of gaining XP are heals, revives and scans with Necrotech DNA extractors.

Your duties will involve using your contacts to allow your BBC Journalist to liaise with groups so we can follow stories and get interviews! You will then report your story to the BBC for the reading pleasure of our wiki readers or our radio audience.

You will also be working with other Journalists on stories, and in the event of War Correspondence, could be working in groups to get the best quality of coverage.

If you are interested, please leave us a message on our talk page and state your intent to pursue a career with the BBC! You will be required to provide the UDID of the character you will be using as your reporter.

D.I.T.P.S : Survivor Group

Dulston Infection Treatment and Prevention Squad

The Dulston Infection Treatment and Prevention Squad (D.I.T.P.S) is a survivor group located in the suburb of Dulston. Our group is dedicated to assisting survivors by providing them with in-patient and field medical services, while at the same time working to educate survivors so as to prevent the healing or revival of wanted criminals or hardcore zombies. The D.I.T.P.S was founded by Flyte and Dr. Carey, aka "Deathwire", and has become the leading medical community within Dulston.

Who Should Apply?: Survivors who are genuinely interested in having fun, enjoy socializing, find fulfillment in helping their fellow survivors, and take pride in restoring the dead to life, thus aiding in Dulston's fight against the zombie horde.

What Should I Expect?: All survivor classes and skill sets are welcome as the D.I.T.P.S provides many job opportunities. Fresh recruits will benefit from a helpful training environment and the protection that comes with working in a group; while more experienced survivors will enjoy the opportunity to advance through the ranks and work within a friendly team environment.

DK13 have been successfully playing Urban Dead in a non cheating, non exploiting, non PKing, non zerging, non threatening, non aggressive, non racist manner since day two (5th July 2005) of the UrbanDead launch and are arguably the first legitimate and organised PRO SURVIVOR group to form within Malton.

Originally operating a single hotel based in M******, we now have several "clean up" operations working from fully functioning hotels, staffed by independent groups of battle hardened soldiers and civilian volunteers, located elsewhere within the once great city of Malton.

DK13 share the same primary long term goal as ANY other legitimate group of survivors, to maintain a low profile, to clear the streets of advancing undead hordes, and to co-operate and co-exist in peace with ALL non-aggressive groups of survivors.

There can more to this city than stocking ammo, counting kills, or relocating the next time a major horde rampages through your area. If technology got us into this mess, perhaps technology can get us out. Formed in Whittenside’s Colglough Building surrounded by the city’s largest active horde, Dr. schwan’s Research and Development Team is an autonomous collective of scientifically inclined survivors and survivor supporting zombies looking to challenge paradigms and make life in Malton more interesting for everyone…THROUGH SCIENCE!!!

As scientists, we ask questions and seek answers. We are writers, artists, satirists, and free thinkers who are not content to live by accepted zombie or survivor dogma. We are inquisitive and interested in adapting current concepts and strategies to achieve new aims. We are analysts who find patterns where none seem to exist. We are a soundboard, a sandbox, a support group. We are Life-Cultists, Combat revivers, wiki-editors, inventors…we are looking to expand.

The (not quite so) Invisibles

The (not quite so) Invisibles are a small, and very coordinated survivor group operating out of (but not exclusive to) Danversbank. Along with our many allies, we address the needs of the area by working the local revive points, maintaining the suburb barricade plan & offering FAKs to those in need. We're also partial to spending time drinking in the pubs, womanizing, looking at fine art in the museums, playing naked twister, reciting raunchy poetry or just getting in some much needed reading at the local libraries. Generally speaking, The (not quite so) Invisibles try to strike that careful balance between being serious about our duties and having fun while we're doing it.

Are you tired of the stigma attached to murdering people for no adequately explainable reason? We've got just the group for you...

Though one of the larger groups in the game, Red Rum take life in Malton a little less seriously than most survivors. This is due to most Rummers having utterly lost it. We're content to shoot at anything that moves – largely including other Rummers, allies and especially our leadership in a mishmash of blatant nonsense.

We're capable of worrying coordination (see our infamous Tommy Gun strikes) and have killed more characters than any other group, but individual Rummers are free to start their own antics, wander freely or join in our mass events as they choose.

We've killed Malls, Forts and ridiculed the largest groups in the game – if it's variety, Red Rum is who you are after. Red Rum make up the most powerful PKers in the game – more than equalling the power of the entire allied forces of every other PKer group in the game.

Our join requirements aren't strict– simply that you murder an innocent. Sign up here, assuming you haven't been observed in action already...

The Ridleybank Resistance Front wants you! Are you a lonely zombie, tired of bashing barricades by yourself and rarely reaching the tasty brains on the other side? Are you a survivor, bored with the inane bickering of your fellow breathers, as they argue for days over barricade levels and danger reports? Then join us - the RRF - we want to give you the fun you're searching for!

We are one of the largest, most storied, and successful hordes in the entire game, eating survivors and smashing safehouses since September 2005. We extend a warm hand (in spirit, our actual hands are room-temperature) of welcome to those who wish to escape the Serious Business of other groups, and have a laugh while still being deadly in the field of combat.

Old player with tons of skills? You are most welcome to bring your experience to us. New player without even Ankle Grab? We will feed you until you burst - babahz are one of our special joys to raise, a feeling shared horde-wide. If you like to free-wheel, you can join the main horde, the Department of Homeland Security, and rampage about the homeland. Like the coordinated action of strike teams? We have two to choose from at various times of day - Auxunit 10 and The Constables. Can't quite give up on ammo and oxygen? The Gore Corps, THE death cultists of Malton, belong to us, and will put your firearm addiction to good use.

And foremost, the Front is a family. We look out for each other in a way many harmanz - and even some zambahz - still have yet to learn. Those in command are always approachable with any problems or questions you may have. For as much as you would give to the horde, the horde would give to you. Plus the total lack of pants and the kicking of Serious Business right in the fish-and-chips. We want to have fun, and we want you to have it too. Come and play!

Rising from the ashes of two historical groups, the Soldiers of Crossman have thrived in the volatile Northwest of Malton, becoming one of the longest-lasting, premier groups in the game. Our friends know us for our loyalty, good humor, and dedication. Our enemies know us for our strength, determination, and tenacity.

The Northwest was once a proud bastion of humanity in the zombie apocalypse, standing firm when all else crumbled around it. We intend to bring that back by uniting all of the survivors in the Northwest, not only in the fight against our common enemy, but also in our struggle to rebuild that which has been taken from us.

South West Anarchists : Anti-Survivor

The South West Anarchists are the most wretched hive of anarchist scum and death-cultist villainy in all the south-west corner of Malton.

We didn't get into this to boss you around or actually lead a group. We are rather a loose coalition of death-cultists, PKers and zombies that does little but to provide a platform for sharing news of open buildings, requesting infections and revives and the occassional closer voluntary cooperation.
Or you can just lurk on our forums and stalk the food and the PKer crack as soon as we learn of them. It's really up to you how involved you want to get.

Thus, our rules are minimal:

Don't zerg, text-rape or forum-spy.
You may only have one alt in South West Anarchists.
You must be some kind of anti-survivor who is active in the south-west corner.

St. Ferreol's Hospital Noise Abatement Society : Zombie Group

No breathing harmanz, no humming generator, just silence.

St. Ferreol's Hospital Noise Abatement Society is a zombie group based in the suburb of Kempsterbank.

Our one simple aim is to ensure the silence of the grave in St. Ferreol's Hospital. We attack that one building, in order to smash the generator and claw and bite the breathers inside. We want to ruin the building, and keep it ruined. When it is ruined, we stand inside to prevent repairs, and prowl out to kill and feast in nearby buildings.

There is no way in the game to move a zombie from a block, so we are here for good - a permanent curse on St. Ferreol's Hospital. Barhah!

If you are a zombie in or near Kempsterbank, check us out and leave a message on our talk page, or come over to the forum. We welcome everyone from experienced zombies to new players, and like to coordinate with nomadic hordes when they pass through the area.

The Tactical Assault Containment Service is a special Task Force Division created by an unknown corporate entity with interests in eliminating the zombie virus currently lose in the city of Malton. The soldiers of TACS are specially trained in urban-warfare and zombie eradication. Created to help assist with the zombie outbreak of Malton, TACS has been inserted into the city and will continue helping with security efforts...

Anyone interested is allowed to join, no matter what skill level.

All Applicants must register on forums listed below, and all applicants must add the words "Tactical Assault Containment Service" in the group affiliation box on their Urban Dead profile..

After being approved as a members, Applicant will be issued rank and orders will be given.

Team Xtreme : Bounty Hunter Group

Team Xtreme is a Anti PKer/Bounty Hunter Group. We specialize in bringing the fight to PKer groups and Griefers. Our main goal is to hunt down PKers, but we are also known to help rebuild suburbs and fight zombies on occasion. Currently we are attached to Skynet Defense Network as one of their Combat Units. We have real time strikes and are coordinated. We have a lot of knowledge to share with new recruits as many of our members are seasoned veteran players. Umbrella Corporation : Pro Survivor Group

We are a pro-Survivor group referenced on the fictional Umbrella Corporation that plays a large role in the Resident Evil/Biohazard games. Our goals are helping humanity, having fun, shooting zeds, growing in numbers and strength, and having random discussions from time to time about world affairs, among other things.

We offer different roles for everyone, regardless of level or class. We'll give you all the training necessary to be a hardcore zombie killer, field medic or even climb up our Corporate ranks and fill high level positions. Because we are geared towards training, development and growth, we're always welcoming new members to the Corporation.

As for in-game, we are an experienced Survivor group. We have assisted in plenty of Mall & Fort sieges, dealt with pesky PK'ers and have executed more guerrilla tactics (and zombies) than we care to count. We know the game, and we want to know you.

The Wraiths: Pro-Survivor Group

The Wraiths are now recruiting zombie hunters, healing/revivification experts, repair/barricade specialists, communications experts and scouts for our permanent teams in Shackleville and Ketchelbank, as well as zombie operatives for undercover operations in Ridleybank and wandering zombie operatives for barricade smashing on ruined buildings as part of Project Piñata. Rot got you down? Tired of singing to yourself in empty buildings? Want to participate on the survivor side without having to put up with the politics or actually…be a survivor? ZALP may be the group for you. Here at ZALP, we believe that Harmanz are a dwindling resource in Malton. If the major hordes get their way, we can add HARMANBARGARZ to the list of bygone delights right next to Tasmanian tiger steaks, dodo fingers, and coelacanth sticks.

We cannot allow this to happen: think of the zombie children!

ZALP believes there is another way. As Malton’s only organized life-cultist group, We are committed to establishing pockets of living-friendly areas where harmanz might run free and begin to repopulate. We do this through the use of life culting tactics aimed at curbing rampant undead consumerism. Through communication and cooperation with our food source, combined with an ounce of restraint, Zombies for the Advancement of Living People works towards a brighter and more diverse Malton. At some point, Harmanz may be numerous enough that they will no longer need our protection, but until that day arrives, HARMANZ AHM HRANS, NAH BARG Z!NGZ.

ZALP is looking for independent zombies who know what is at stake, zombies interested in coordinated zombie/harman strategy, rotters who feel they can better aid their community by not always having to break into NTs to get a revive, or those of zombie or Harman persuasion who are interested in taking a new approach to life and unlife in Malton.
